Hotel Larius - Como

This is a very comfortable hotel in a renovated mill. I stayed there in December and my room was warm and comfortable, with simple modern decor, and nice bathroom. All linens, etc were clean and fresh, the front office staff were very friendly and helpful,speaking English and suggesting places for me to go. There was also a Fitness room I could use, for a fee. The breakfast was quite ample, with ham, cheese , bread, rolls, juice, coffee and cereals provided. The hotel is located on a narrow side street off Via Milano, about 15 mins walk to the city walls on the Via Battiste Cesare, and from there another 15 minutes to the lakefront. If you arrive in the evening, by train, I would suggest a taxi from the station, ( San Giovanni), costing about 7E, as it is a little difficult to find on foot. However, Via Milano is a busy main street and I had no reservations about walking back to the hotel alone after dark. I would however, probably take a taxi, if it were very late in the evening. One of the best features of the hotel is the restaurant which is inside the hotel. I had the best dinner of my trip there. I would certainly stay there again, and recommend it highly.

a big disaster: it rained in the bedroom through the roof and nothing was done by reception to compensate for this problem : we had to mop the floor!!! failing lift: we had to carry our luggage up the stairs!

The location of the Hotel is rather isolated in that it is situated in the middle of small business units. There is a lack of restaurants in the area so one is basically a captive for the evening meal, as we were reluctant to venture out. However the food in the Hotel was excellent, if, pricey. All in all we enjoyed our stay.

double room / 3 days. Personnel très agréable. Restaurant sur place, pratique pour une arrivée tardive (ce qui fut notre cas) mais nous avons été déçu par le restaurant ... pour les petits déj (standards) : prévoir d'arriver "tôt" sinon il vaut mieux aimer les biscottes. Pour le parking sur place, spacieux et pratique, c'est pareil, ne pas arriver trop tard ou alors très très tard sinon places occupées par les clients du restaurant !

We arrived at the hotel after 2 p.m and the room was not ready for occupation. In similar cases a free welcome drink would help to forget the annoyances. I was happy about the parking lot.

It was so long fron Historical center. Not nice area. But hotel is nice and the restaurant is very nice.

I must admit that after reading some of the other reviews, I was concerned that there might be some issues (air conditioning, etc.) -- but this was not the case (there were no problems with the air conditioning, or the willingness of the staff to make sure that all was perfect). This hotel was a fantastic find! The staff was extremely helpful, accomodating and friendly. The restuarant was a special treat with excellent food, and the lounge was a nice place to unwind. I cannot emphasize how nice all of the staff were. We will defintely come back to Como, and come back to Hotel Larius!

the restaurant is faky gourmet, the food is good but the prices are far too high ; the wine prices are obscenely expensive. the fitness facility was a good surprise but we did not use it, no gear with us a pity we did not know in advance

Nettes Hotel, quasi im Hinterhof gelegen, daher prinzipiell ruhig, genervt hat nur die Entlüftung der Restaurantküche, die bis spät in die Nacht gerauscht hat. Das Zimmer war gross, etwas seltsam geschnitten, dadurch die Raumausnutzung bescheiden. Das Badezimmer war sehr gut. Insgesamt ein angenehmer Aufenthalt. Kritikpunkt: die Preisgestaltung des Internetzugangs in der Halle: man muss eine karte für 10€ kaufen, die man dann absurfen kann.

Very modern building, room very confortable. Restaurant very spacious, good selection of dishes and reasonable prices. Staff very welcoming, English spoken by all the members of staff we encountered. Will stay there again if in the area.
