We had an excellent time in Como! The hotel was in a quaint location very close to the train station. The staff and accomodations only added to our Italian experience. Each morning we had a wonderful breakfast and welcoming smiles. We will definitely stay at Albergo del Duca again!

We (husband and I in a double room; brother and daughter in a twin room) stayed in Albergo del Duca for the last two nights of a 17 day stay in Italy, 3 days of which were for a medical conference. We had stayed at the much pricier and less favourably located 4 star conference hotel in Como for the previous 3 nights and the contrast was enormous. The more expensive hotel had uncooperative, unfriendly staff, and the rooms, though relatively large, were shabby. Our welcome at Albergo del Duca could not have been warmer or more helpful, our rooms were beautifully clean, and although not large, were perfectly adequate. All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay a pleasure. The restaurant attached to the hotel, which is used for breakfast, was excellent when we had dinner there on our last night. It was also packed with locals, which is a sure sign of quality. A previous stay in Como in a similarly ranked hotel nearby was not nearly as good. We LOVED Albergo del Duca and would not hesitate to stay again - especially given its fantastic location in a lovely piazza right in the midst of old Como and so close to the lakeshore and station.

Excellent value, lovely room. Only negative was that there was, I suppose inevitably, a lot of kitchen noise up to about midnight which you could hear on the first floor so if you were to want to try to sleep before then it could be problematic. A small negative amid so much that was excellent
