Grand City Hotel Köln Zentrum - Cologne

Very good hotel and delicious breakfast. Atractive and very obliging personnel. Only one complaint - very hard mattress in the bed. This should be improved. Otherwise very nice rooms. When the window is closed, there is no noise from the outside.

Basically okay hotel with a decent breakfast and a good location especially convenient for those who need the Cologne train station to be at close distance (it's 5 min walk away). Due to some unexplainable twist of science the wireless internet in my MacBook was working very poorly or not working at all down in the lobby while running as a Usain Bolt in the room. Probably the only really negative thing was that the baby cot had some (bread?) crumbles beneath the mattress and the kid had to sleep in our bed, but then again I've asked for a baby cot on a really short notice and the personnel had to time to thoroughly inspect it before moving to our room, so bearing no grudge about it.

Hotal EuroMark served as base for a few days sight-seeing in and around Cologne. Located next to main train station it was very convenient (close to Cologne Cathederal as well). The hotel itself is very clean. The double room was bright and not too small (about 12 feet by 12 feet). The bathroom was modern and recently remodelled. Colour TV had a few English language stations (CNN/BBC). All in all, very good value for money (about 80 euros a night).
