Hotel Brandenburger Hof - Cologne

Great location and a fantastic breakfast spread.

First time in Cologne and at this hotel. We received the warmest of welcomes at this hotel. The location was excellent, only a few minutes walk from the main train/bus station and also the Cathedral, but off the main road, so no noise. Plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. The rooms were very bright and extremely clean. The shared bathroom facilities were also extremely clean and there were plenty of them. There was one bathroom on the floor we were on and two more on a small flight of approx 10 stairs down. We never had a problem accessing one. We would definitely stay at this hotel again, on friendliness, location and price.

A clean, friendly and welcoming family run hotel 5 minutes walk from the railway station. The owner recommended a small "pub" for dinner, 5 minutes walk away - Bruecken - where we ate well for a modest price, and lent us an umbrella as it was raining. Breakfast in the hotel was excellent - neatly laid out tables, with a boiled egg awaiting you, a really fresh array of cheeses, meats, warm bread rolls, fruit, yoghurt, etc, and a pot of fresh coffee promptly served. Thoroughly recommended.

Excellent location, breakfast and standards of service. The only gripe being two beds pushed together and short bed sheets didn't offer the soundest night's sleep.

Great value-- super polite, helpful staff that spoke flawless English. There was a lot of construction around the hotel, but that seemed to be true of everywhere in Cologne.

Cheap and comfortable. Only 4 hotel parking places.

This hotel has an exellent location with a walking distance to the Dom, railway station or to walk to the Rhein Ufer and take a sight seeing boat trip. We got all the help we needed from the personnel, and a substantial breakfast in a nice breakfast room.

This hotel is a real gem. I was in Cologne on a business trip, and looked for value as always. This was one of the friendliest hotels I have ever stayed in. I can wholeheartedly recommend it if you are looking for value for money and a cental place to stay. Great breakfast too.

Good location in a pleasant area very close to Cologne main station. So easy access to Cologne Messe. Adequate but not great room with very cramped bathroom fitted in as an afterthought. Reasonable value for 60 euros a night, inc breakfast.

Very close from the station, a quiet/safe quater and quiet rooms, friendly staff, free internet (wireless), lovely breakfast.... besides, although i resesvred a single room, they provided me with a double room which had a nice view over the inner garden. i'd like to come back to this hotel.

Good location and nice breakfast (esp. the cheese), the female staff is very nice; not clean enough, uncomfortable sheet, small bathroom, heating is not warm enough.

A lot of road works around the hotel caused difficulty. The hotel has no public rooms, but if these are not needed, then the hotel is fine.

Quite comfortable and near to the city center, a little bit old. Rooms aren't new and not very well insonorized but the hotel is located in a quiet street and most of the rooms are on the backyard; anyway you can hear your neighbours, if you're unlucky. The staff was very helpful and kind: they all speak Italian (for who needs). The breakfast was really a big surprise in a so little hotel.

The hottel is situated very close to the Rhin and the Dom. The breakfest was very good and the employees were very welcoming. The room was very clean, but the furniture was very ugly choosed with no taste.

I travelled with my husband for a weekend. The hotel was very close to the train station. That was good. We didn't like that the breakfast was only till 10.00 in the morning. But breakfast was good quality and without exaggerations, all you needed was there for you.

The hotel is as described and the staff was very friendly, competent and efficient. My only negative comment is about Venere.com: the hotel had not been informed about a special requierement I filled in the venere.com page (about an extra child bed). However, on arrival they immediately gave us a three-beds room maintaining the price. ps. Why do I HAVE TO answer all questions? About some of them I don't know. for instance, I cannot rate the "type and number of available rooms", since I just asked for one type of room that was available... I'll give a 10 for all those.

It is a very quiet, clean and friendly hotel, very easy to reach from central station. The hotel is nice, and the breakfast is good also. There´s no lift, and shared toilets, without a sink arround, and shared bathtroom too.

Quite good small unpretentious hotel. It is situated beside the station near the center of cologne slightly set back in a quiet street. The service is basic but good. The employees are really nice and helpful. Breakfast is well furnished but not exceptional. Rooms are simple with two single bed instead of a double bed. Bathrooms are shared on the floor. It wasn't a problem for me as they were clean and available. There is no private parking but it is possible to park for free in the street during the weekend. To conclude it is a simple, well situated hotel for people who don't want to spend too much money in the housing and don't look for an upscale hotel.

It's very simple to reach the hotel following their instructions (from the train station). The room was small but light and clean with very nice bedding and view to their nice patio. The bathroom very new and clean, towels changed everyday. Breakfast abundant and good, nicely served. At every moment it is obvious they care for their hotel and for their guests. We will return and recommend the place very much.

Very close to station, also to major sights and river. Very clean and friendly. Great breakfast. Non- ensuite rooms are smallish but still very comfortable.

The hotel is just one street from the train station, i would recomend not to arrive at night if traveling alone. The service was great.

Great central location - only ~4 blocks from the station. Very clean rooms, friendly staff & offered a great breakfast! Room was clean but a smoke odor removing spray would be nice. Overall a good value.
