The Central Hotel is in a super location and is comfortable, stylish, and extremely clean. All of these plus the modest price make it the perfect place to stay in Cologne. The staff are very helpful and considerate. When my friend had a problem with her room phone not working, a member of staff responded immediately and within minutes she had another room. The breakfast was lovely and offered a range of choices, hot and cold. We were expecting a bit of street noise considering the busy time of year with all of the Christmas markets, but there really was not much at all. We would definitely stay at the Central again.

Convenient location just steps away from Central Station. I stayed on the top floor, using the elevator halfway and use the stairs more. The room is spacious and clean, breakfast was rich and satisfying. Very good hotel, I'd like to use again.

Very good hotel, very convenient to the Station and Cathedral. Buffet breakfast was excellent with a good choice. Only stayed one night, tried to book another but was full due to a trade fair. Would certainly use it again.

There is a chinese restaurant inside the hotel, you have to pass it by every time you go to your room and the smell is really strong, the biggest advantages of this hotel are that it is really in an excellent location, near city centre and main railway station, also if you happen to get a special offer price around 70 EUR, then it's really worth the money, everything above that is a ripoff.

Nice staff. Easy to find the place, very close to the train station and close to the Koelnmesse. Good breakfast.Nice room with soft bed. The refrigerator did not work, but it was not a problem. I would go there again.

Just 1 minute from both station and Dom. Also there are so many shops, restaurants, and spots to be visited near the hotel. The breakfast is excellent. The room is clean but small and noisy.

Great location, clean room, but to cross a restaurant to reach your room is not fantastic. The thickness of walls should be improve as you can hear what your neighbourg is doing (shower, TV, love, etc.). The Wifi connection didn't work from my room... I tried the Starbucks 100m way and it was perfect. Ask for a room on the back of the building, not on the noisy roundabout.

The room itself was clean, comfortable, and attractive. However, there was no mention in the ad that there is no elevator and guests must lug their baggage up several (in our case, five) flights of stairs.

Best point was the sheer convenience - so close to Hauptbahnhof and Dom, and easy to find somewhere to eat nearby, even late at night. Room good, quiet (overlooking inner courtyard of other buildings), bed comfortable. Good breakfast, especially for overall price. Easy to do online booking/check-in.

The room was really nice but to get to it we had to walk between the kitchens of several Chinese restaurants which was wierd and a bit smelly. The smell of stale Chinese cooking is not good first thing in the morning. The hotel is in quite a noisy area but it is really close to the station and cathedral.

Adequate hotel for an overnight. Location very central. I had a quiet room overlooking an inner courtyard. Passageway to the room through the kitchens of a Chinese restaurant not particularly pleasant and breakfast - fairly typically in German hotels - not a great pleasure. But excellent value for money on my deal for a clean and quiet room.

My room was a single, but it was still VERY small! I could also hear everything from my room as it was directly opposite the lift and stairs. Even more irritating when I was trying to go to sleep was the fact that someone from reception felt the urge to call me in the early hours only to discover they had called the wrong room! I was just staying in Cologne as a stopover after a late flight but I'd think twice about staying here again for more than one night.

We used this hotel purely because our train got in Saturday evening and the connecting train wasn't til Sunday morning. Whilst it would have been ideal had the hotel been a little nicer, it was well priced and extremely well located, and basic & acceptable enough. Nothing amazing, and though I wouldn't go around recommending it to everyone, I'd probably use it again.

Excellent location, very close to the train station, cathedral and shopping district, however hotel is a bit worn. Rooms are being refurbished and are average standard but small. hotel corridors are very worn and need to walk past the hotel kitchen to get to stairwell for most rooms. Breakfast decidely average - don't bother unless it is included for free. If you don't mind small rooms, below average decor and can get it for a good price then I recommend this hotel

The hotel was a good value. The room we had was spacious and clean (compared to other hotels we stayed in during our trip). The hotel is located over a restaurant and the rooms thus had some restaurant smell but it was not too bad. The hotel has no parking, and when we inquired about public parking, the reception clerk got angry and it took several minutes to determine that public parking was available at the nearby Hilton (for a cost almost half that of our room!). Other than the parking problem, our stay was pleasant. We would return to this hotel.

Nice breakfast; our room was spacious, other ones were very small; good cost/benefit for a short stay. Don't ever forget the keys inside your room; the crew is not competent enough to open it for you, or just don't bother doing it.

This was my first time in Cologne and I was travelling with my mother. The hotel is ideal because of its location just a few minutes by walking to the Dom and the centre of the city. What was bad: it is not a conventional hotel, not all the room are in the same building, and to get to our room we had to pass through the restaurante of the hotel and a chinese restaurant. Both gave disgusting smells! Anyway the relationship price/quality is excellent: we paid 62 euros/night for a double room + breakfast. I would recommend this hotel for people who don't expect luxus, but simplicity.

We went for a city break. Although the hotel was clean my only problem was that we had booked 2 rooms, one of the rooms was very spacious but the other room you had to walk through a corridor inbetween a chinese restaurant & the kitchens but the smell was not very nice, particually first thing in the morning. I would definatley go back to this hotel and very central but i would make sure i had a room from numbers 111 to 146

The place looks a bit humble at first sight, but the room was excellent and the staff very good. The electronic safe in the room was easy to use and free of charge. I paid 44 Euros (1 person 1 room) which was only just over 30 English Pounds, surely a good rate for a European city of that size. The location is very good, only 150m from train station (no need for taxi) and therefore minutes from the Cathedral.

Single bed room. good location for tourists and travellers on a budget as it is close to the train station. cashing travellers cheques cannot be done at the banks - it is done at an AMEX agent on Komodien street about 5 minutes away by foot but it is hard to find as the entrance is on the other street. for vegetarians, there is a good restaurant at Friesen Platz.

We were in Cologne for a trade fair and this booking was last minute. The twin room was very cramped with a tiny shower room. The shower head was loose and while this was fixed immediately when we advised front desk, the cleaners should have seen this problem and reported it. The front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming. There are comfy chairs and free snacks available all day. Also tea making in the room which was a plus. Outside our window was a street light and this shone through the drapes as they were quite thin. Great location though right near the Dom and station.

Far better than expected for the price. We stayed five days (for the Christmas markets)and the bedding and towels were changed every day. This is a great hotel centrally located! It is literally steps aways from Hauptbahnhof and the Central Cathedral. Upon arrival our room was not ready (it was still early around 11am) but we were permitted to take our luggage to the room for storing. The front desk staff was very friendly and informative. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and right on point. The room itself, although small, was very clean and had all the nessesary amenities and comfortable beds. Our window overlooked a small platz/square so it was very quiet! I would definitely return to this hotel again!
