Hotel Saint-Nicolas - Riquewihr, Colmar
2, Rue Saint-nicolas - Colmar
877-662-6988Housed in a restored half-timbered house nestled in the heart of Riquewihr pedestrian zone, Hotel Saint-Nicolas features not only comfortable and value-for-money guest rooms, but also a local cuisine restaurant and various animation services on request, such as organized city tours in a Bentley or wine tasting tours (extra-charge).
Hotel Saint-Nicolas' exceptional location in Riquewihr allows guests to reach easily many famous local tourist sites, such as the Dolder belfry on the city fortified walls or the Tour des Voleurs Museum. Very well situated is also Riquewihr itself on the Alsace Wine route: the nearby villages of Ribeauvillé and Kaysersberg are accessible by car within a few minutes, and you can reach Colmar in about half a hour.
I was travelling with my family, and my general experience at Hotel Saint Nicolas was really good.

The hotel was comfortable, very well situated, and clean. The welcome was a little dry, but the personnel otherwise helpful. The house is typical for the region, i.e. not very well noise-isolated, but it is not a problem when you have considerate co-locators. All together, I had a very nice weekend and could recommend this hotel which has a good price-quality relationship.

Nice very old charming hotel. I have stayed there 15 years ago and remebered it so well so I decided to stay there again. Perfect situated in a very calm street close to the main street in the village.

The rooms are not terribly quiet, because this hotel is in a working town...not a resort. It is an old building, so air conditioning is not an option. But the weather was pleasant, so we slept with the windows open...which allowed the street noise into our room toward morning. But we slept just fine. The hotel is a nice place, matching its surroundings (old, and well-kept). As is typical of European hotels, they did not provide wash cloths. Just so you know.

The major quality of this hotel is to be within a medieval environment, very nice to live, and maintained the palace as historically was.

Our stay at Hotel Saint Nicolas, Riquewihr was short but pleasant. We enjoyed a dinner at the hotel restaurant very much, too. We only missed the air condition in the room because wheather was pretty hot.

Appropriately quaint. Owner a bit of a curmudgeon, but it might have been a translation issue. His daughter and son-in-law more than made up for it. Wonderful traditional restaurant. Location is a little difficult to find because the arch that leads into the town may appear impassable by car. It isn't.

Typical French hotel with rustic appearance. Rooms clean and facilities adequate. We were passing through on journey to Southern Italy and only stayed one night. Breakfast could have been better for the 8 euro extra charge and that was for the basic meal.

The Hotel is perfect, not only the location, but also the owners of the hotel are very kind and friendly. The hotel is a located in a very beautiful building, the rooms are fine and the bathrooms excellent. The interior of the hotel is very cosy and nice. Going there by car is also not a problem, because you unload the car infront of the hotel and then park the car outside the city walls - 3min walk, and you do not have to necessarily take a private parking lot from the hotel, always depending on the time of arrival (evenings you find enough free parking). The only thing I would advise from the experience we made: on the day of departure you have to leave the room by 11am and with us the cleaning ladies already started cleaning and packing our things themselves in our room by 10am whilest we were for breakfast - therefore tell them not to come to your room BEFORE your departure. Riquewihr offers many restaurants and they all look very nice. We always went to "Au vieux Riquewihr" - the chocolate tarte with creme brule icecream was the best I have ever eaten. The restaurant in the hotel also offers excellent food, but you cannot sit outside. The surroundings of Riquewihr are beaufiful and maybe the wine is cheaper to buy outside the city. We would always return to Hotel Saint Nicolas.
