Riquewihr is magic at the end and beginning of the day, when the hordes of daytrippers are not there. La Couronne is in a quiet side street but in style. Just expect to crawl up many narrow steps to your room, and don't keep the window open, at 4 am the dustbins are cleaned in the streets with a lot of noise. But all in all, I love to come back. Ps free and excellent wifi in the room!

Only complaint is that there was only one pillow provided and it was very thin. Too tired (and worse for drink!)to ask for more! Restaurant next door La Grenouille was great. This city is a real gem - cannot believe we had not heard of it before. We will return to fully explore in the Autumn

This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful location. Riquwihr is easy to find off the main route. It is an old and charming building with plenty of good places to eat within a very short walk. Good parking. Only negative is that the stairs to the bedrooms are up a turret and are very difficult if you have heavy luggage. Recommend overnight bag and take it slowly if you are elderly or unfit. No ground floor rooms as far as I know. My 3rd visit and will come again.

The most cute and wonderful hotel in a very beautiful village in Alsace region. It was a very clean and authentic hotel with a convenient parking right by it. Enjoyed the surrounding so much. Will definitly go back there again.

Fun to actually stay in the old city. Parking is easy. Watch out for circular stair, its authentic, but hard to manuever up with a suitcase.

Lovely stay. Reception staff spoke excellent English too. Greeting on arrival was informal and as helpful as one might wish. From then on the staff were unobtrusive. Daily room cleaning and tidying was spot-on. Breakfasts were excellent. The hotel is charming, picturesque, and everything was as advertised on the website. The big car park is a real boon. Oh, and we had absolutely free high-speed wifi throughout the stay, which we hadn't expected. We shall go to Riquewihr again one day, and this hotel will definitely be our first choice - provided the knees will still be able to cope with the spiral staircase.

Friendly helpful staff, great breakfast and excellent restaurants nearby. Good health is necessary to do the spiral staircase, and don't think about getting a big suitcase up them. The young man at the desk came to our aid by calling the rental car co. when my wife locked the keys in the trunk. Help arrived in less than an hour and we were so very grateful!

Very good location in the middle of everything, yet very quiet at night. unfortunately we arrived late and did not get up early enough for breakfast, so no rating there, but the service was friendly, the room was spacious and the parking was great. the only negative thing (if you really are looking for a hair in the soup) was the shower head that broke in the morning, but this might have been coincidence after all. very enjoyable days in this hotel, would go again

This is a charming hotel, very old. No lift and spiral stone staircase may make access difficult for those with trouble walking. Riquewihr is beautiful and still looks as it did 400 years ago. Lots of restaurants including a small pizzeria. Lots of local food and wine here. Hotel is in the centre of Riquewihr (which is not a large place) and has a car park. Ideal base for exploring region. Breakfast good.

The setting is magical. Don't worry about the place being too "touristy". It isn't tacky at all. We were there in early October and it couldn't have been nicer-- vineyards changing colors, storybook half-timbered buildings everywhere, caves for tasting in the town and many picturesque and interesting places nearby. The hotel was so nice-- not luxe, but for us, totally comfortable, with the decoration appropriate for the setting. Flat screen TV/phone in room. Reception upgraded us to a suite since it was an anniversary trip. Breakfast is certainly more than good enough to get a good start on the day, and really not so expensive, and super convenient. A car is a really good idea in this area. On site parking is another nice perk at this place. Lots to see in a relatively small geographic area. Haut Konigsberg is a must see. Cannot recommend the restaurant in Riquewihr, Au Tire Buchon, enough. Had both lunch and dinner there, both superb. The servers, esp. Debra, and the chef, Thierry really understand and appreciate the art of making and serving exceptional food (as do the asst. chef, other workers, etc.). In Riquewihr, diagonally across the street from the Zimmer Cave (go and taste here, it's atmospheric --barrel tables, stone floors, etc.-- and you can taste many different things, wine and spirits) there is a small wineshop where a woman sells her husband's wines. We got a bottle of Reisling for 5 euro and it was absolutely delicious. I bet the rest are good, too. There's a laundromat in Mittelwihr (less than 10 min. drive), across the street from a large wine, beer, and liquor distributor (I browsed and got some absinthe while my clothes were drying). There are so many interesting places, but if limited in time, Eguisheim is another don't miss. If there weren't so many other places to go to and explore, I'd go back in a second, to both Riquewihr, and the Hotel De La Couronne. N.B.: The map provided on venere.com isn't very good, look it up on googlemaps... If in

We'd go back to De la Couronne again. We loved it. The staff and location were wonderful. Parking and breakfast cost extra which we didn't realize when we booked but both were very reasonably priced. The parking was especially a bargain because Riquewihr doesn't have a lot of space for cars (didn't need it 500 years ago). It was a bit challenging to get the luggage up the 20 circular stone steps which are within a tower but the adventure was worth it. We loved our stay in Riquewihr and Hotel De la Courone couldn't have been better.

Conveniently located in the town centre the hotel has a suprisingly large car park which made it our first choice. The bed rooms are accessed via a fairly awkward spiral staircase and are not air conditioned but this is a character property in a traditional setting so you can't expect every modern convenience.

Only one night, but Riquewihr is a beautifull old village with a lot of good restaurants, old buildings and history. The hotel is old but with a lot of charm and atmosphir and good parking facilities close to hotel dispite narrow streets and just in the center.

Second time we have stayed at this hotel. Excellent value for money and the added advantage of a car park. First time we stayed we were upgraded to a very large suite, second time, much smaller but perfectly adequate room. Very helpful staff. Access to some rooms may be a bit tricky for less mobile visitors.

Friendly multi-lingual staff (French, German, and English were spoken very well). Easy check-in and check-out. Staff also assisted in finding a bus to visit nearby towns. The hotel is located just a few meters off the main street of Riquewihr with numerous restaurants nearby. Spacious rooms and for a reasonable price. Only minor complaint is the smokiness of the downstairs bar area/reception, but it can be easily avoided.

We arranged tastings in advance at Hugel and Dopff au Moulin (both within staggering distance of the hotel) and both gave very good service. However, this was in April, and may not be as relaxed as in the high season. Recommended restaurant: Au Tire Bouchon, 29, Rue General de Gaulle
