Very pleasant staff, very little English spoken. Loved the convenient location just off the autostrada (but no noise) for touring the Tuscan countryside. The rooms were fine, the bathrooms could be updated. Unfortunately, the grounds have been neglected so it all looks kind of run down.

Have stayed here in the past, great food, great chef (owner) and family. Location great for short trips to hill towns and beautiful Italy itself.

What a delightful place! While not glitzy, the Villa was charming and homey. Our room was like a pleasant guest suite in a rustic private villa. The grounds are attractive, disguising the fact that the villa bordered on an industrial zone. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. The only noise problem came from loud pigeons at the crack of dawn. Colle di Val d'Elsa turned out to be an excellent location from which to visit much of Tuscany by car. The village itself has a walled old town perched on a hilltop, which is every bit as interesting as much more famous Tuscan towns. Plus, it has a convenient elevator to take you up form the new town in the valley. If we return to Tuscany, we will stay at Villa Belvedere.

Villa Belvedere is more than a simple hotel. It shares a special aura coming for instance from the fact that one can look at Sangimignano towers at horizon from his window. The restaurant of the hotel allows to enjoy Tuscan traditional cooking without having to go too far. The value for money of Villa Belvedere is really good if you put in the score more the charm of historical details than the foregone display of unuseful high-tech trivia

Located in the countryside about three kms outside Colle di Val d'Elsa. Spacious room with windows in two directions. We had to ask for heating in the room (late october).

The staff was very nice and hotel and the rooms are furnished with wonderful old furniture and small refrigerators, although the bathrooms are tiny (ask for a room with a bathtub). WiFi works only in the bar. ($5/day) The coffee for breakfast is awful, but you can get espresso of cappuccino at the bar (for a separate charge) or better: just skip breakfast at the hotel; We tried dinner only once and it was ok. There is a pretty decent pizzeria next door.

Very centrally located in Central Tuscany region not far from Siena (Monteriggioni about 10 min. away) off main AutoStrada (Exit Colle di Val d' Elsa - South and right at the traffic circle takes you almost directly to the hotel [skip the MapQuest directions]). Silvia was very helpful in pointing out travel directions and parking tips for side trips to Siena, the Chianti Road, etc. The salad bar at the Pizza Restaurant has a varied selection and is highly recommended. The wine store/farm located next to the hotel wasn't open so we couldn't buy villa-labeled wine to take away, but no shortage in the main restaurant.

Looks great from outside. Wonderful stone stairwell, and some things are really neat to see, also the courtyard. But some work needs to be done. In our room the wooden tiles in front of the bathroom were coming up and the door frame at the bottom was broken, probably from water from the shower, which is the typical italian baseless shower. All this was not a good combination with a 3 year old. Other rooms had obviously been redone. So hopefully this will be taken care of too. But the service personnel was nice. We even were able to drive in the courtyard to the front door to load up the car since it was raining. I think we would stay again if we go in that direction, I would just ask to see the room first, because of my daughter.

The staff were very helpful. I made reservations here since I could not find a place in either Siena or San Gimignano. As it turns out it was far more convenient staying here than in either of those two cities. It also allowed us to visit Volterra and Colle di Val d'Elsa, which we would not have had we stayed in Siena. The food at the hotel was quite good, but unfortunately the menu did not change during the three days we stayed there, so we ate most of the things that intrigued us on the menu.

A pleasant stay in wonderful surroundings. The only complaint being that the web site did not indicate that the restaurant would be closed during the period of our stay. Beware of mosquitoes in the absebce of a/c
