My sister and I booked ahead, as the previous night (we drove through Italy) we hadn't, and paid 90 Euro for an average hotel, with no fan or aircon, or breakfast - we wanted to be prepared. We booked this for 69 euro and actually got two large queen beds. There's only 15 rooms, which makes it more intimate, and the HUGE in-ground pool overlooks the hills. Perfect! Dinner at the restaurant was outside (or in, if you chose) and overlooked the hills. People actually came up from Civitavecchia, just for dinner. The waiter was wonderful and recommended an amazing wine. The prices are VERY reasonable too. The only negative, was finding the place. Our TomTom didn't have the street, for some reason, and we didn't have a map. We called ahead, got the main road that it turned from, and found our way, when we eventually noticed little signs along the way. Just figure that out before you go! Other than that, I can't wait to return!

we could not have been happier! wonderful hotel and superb service! we stayed here before we left for our cruise and it was one of the best nights of the trip! so peaceful and quiet. the service was amazing! everyone was so pleasant and helpful. the hotel even picked us up from the train station and drove us to the port the next day. all for no charge. wonderful hotel. would recommend to any friend.

Once we recovered from the 25 Euro taxi ride from the train station, we were very pleased with the room, restaurant and hospitality of the Tenuta dell'Argento. The reasonable price of the beautiful room more that compensated for the cab ride. This is an "Italian dude ranch" complete with horses and sheep. The view of the harbor is spectacular. We would highly recommend this hotel for those preparing for or returning from a cruise. A couple day stay would be a great way to unwind. They provided transportation to the port for the start of our cruise.

The hotel is in a beautiful and peaceful area and the people at the hotel were extremely nice and helpful. The room was very clean, spacious, and quiet. The only problem was getting a taxi in Civitechia which was an awful experience. Anyone taking a cruise who wishes to stay here should definitely arrange for a taxi prior to arrival. Also, there was no menu at the restaurant and the waitress did not speak English so we had a very expensive and expansive meal. Other than this, we enjoyed our brief stay and would recommend this place to others, especially those who want some peace and quiet. We could not take advantage of any side trips as our stay was too brief.

We wish we could stay more, so nice area and hotel itself. Great facility, nice personal. We would recommend this hotel to anybody travaling thru Italy.

How to reach Hotel Tenuta dell'Argento

By car
From Rome take the Grande Raccordo Anulare-Autostrade Fiumicino and proceed towards Roma-Aeroporto di Fiumicino. Exit at Civitavecchia Fregene on A12/E80, then take the exit Civitavecchia Nord.

From Viterbo take the SS2/SR143. Pass through Vetralla and take the SS2/SR143 Via Cassia (Frazione La Botte). Turn right on SS1BIS Via Aurelia Bis, then take the exit Vetralla and the SS1BIS proceeding for 28 km/17 miles. Turn left on SS1/E80 and then left again on E80 in direction of Rome. Take the A12/E80 till the exit Civitavecchia Nord.

From Grosseto take the SP154, turn right on SS1/E80 in direction of Rome and turn left on E80 always in direction of Rome, then take the A12/E80 till the exit Civitavecchia Nord.
