It was a good thing we were there when it was cool! The A/C was so loud that we were unable to sleep! Sounded like a generator was going on and someone was working using this generator, at 2AM!!!

My reservation was moved from this hotel to it's neighbor De Ville. It was a wonderful room and the location was great! It was between the port and the train station. 5 minute walk to each. Also, the surrounding area provided a variety of restaurants. The rooms were surprisingly large for European hotels. The only negative was that the toilet constantly ran and it was annoying at night.

This hotel is very close to the train station. There were 3 of us staying 2 days. Free Breakfast each day was a great starter. We found the city very easy walking & our choices of places to eat excellent. The hotel arranged a van for us & a lot of luggage to the ship which was a great help at reasonable cost. We are careful with money & feel this was a good value.

We had a very pleasant stay the the Hotel Mediterraneo aka The Rose. We took the train from the airport, enjoying all the stops along the way into the lovely little coastal town of Civitavecchia. We chose this hotel due to it's close proximity to the train station and to the port entrance for our cruise the next day. Since we got in early, we stored our luggage at the hotel and went for a stroll through the town. There is a nice little park, a great place for gelato and fantastic pizza at the many restaurants with outside eating areas. We found it to be a very romantic town. The room was spacious, clean, had a mini bar, lots of storage, tv, clean linens and a great view of the sea. Breakfast, in the nice dining room area, was typical Roman fare with bread, meat, cheese, cereal, croissants, cookies, juice and great coffee. The desk clerks were all very nice and spoke good English. Oh, you must visit the (free) museum just up from McDonalds to see the great statues and ancient marbles. Also, try the great side order of shrimp at McD's! Besides the port towns of Messina and Rhodes on our cruise, we added Civitavecchia as another of our favorites! Add this hotel to your A-list!

This was a very clean, quiet, and beautifully located hotel. I was expecting the room to be a little bigger for the price I paid. The shower had no shelf or anything in which I could put my soap and shampoo. The breakfast was delightful as was the entire staff. It was a very pleasurable experience.

The hotel is perfectly located for going on a cruise - less than 10 minutes walk from station and then 10 minutes to port - therefore no need for taxis. Quite adequate however very pricey given the facilities and the quality of the breakfast which was very basic to say the least. To sum up - perfect for 1 night stay but definitely wouldn't stay longer.

No need for Taxis! The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from the train station, turn right out of the station, walk straight ahead for approximately 2 minutes, the Hotel will be to your right! A couple of minutes walk to the port entrance, cross over the road in front of the hotel, turn to your right and walk along the seafront, in approximately 2 minutes you will arrive at the port entrance, here you (and your luggage) can board the free port shuttle bus which will take you to the pier your ship sails from!

We were a family of 4 including two teens. Room was understandably tight however, the hotel needs alot of renovations. Bathroom facilities were very old and the fan was extremely loud (defective). Reasonably clean but great location.

The room was generally clean but age related deterioration evident in bathroom (cracks etc) and in the airconditioning which did not work. Room very stuffy as a result of the non working airconditioning unless one opened door to balcony, which then compromised security. An adequate one night stop prior to cruise but no more than that.

Hotel was much better than I expected after reading reviews. Room was big--like rooms in US or Canada with a double bed and a balcony overlooking the ocean--also the main street which is not good if you want quiet, but I loved it. Breakfast was typical European--meats,cheeses,bread,yogurt along with cereal, fruit and juice. There were many restaurants and bars nearby--not in the hotel. Train station is a 5 minute walk and port a 10 minute walk. There is a grocery store about a 15 minute walk where I bought pop and water for the cruise ship. The only negative was that the ladies at the front desk were always on the phone--obviously not business calls!!! They were however very pleasant when you could get them off the phone The clientele was mixed--families, beach bums, cruisers etc. For my pre cruise stay I was very happy

My ONly complaint is that due to some computer snafu, we had a couple of extra room booked, and the hotel clerk was very rude in handling it. However the next day she was much more pleasant.

Good hotel, but awful dinner and breakfast (maybe good for a school, but not for the requested price)

Our bathroom had a tube hanging out of the ceiling with a brown sludge draining into our bath. Breakfast fruits were covered in fuzzy green mold. The hallways smelled funny. One of worst hotels I've stayed at in a while. Great location though if you want to get to the port for the cruise if you can endure one rough night.

When we arrived, we were given one room with one bed, although we had repeatedly asked for two beds. Even at check-in, we asked if the room had two beds. When we got into the room, we had one bed. After going down and confronting the desk clerk, we were given a new room with two beds.

We saw no need to stay in Rome itself when we were boarding a cruise ship the next morning. The hotel in Civitavecchia offered a great sea view, was convenient to dining, and was a short taxi ride from the ship. It had a friendly receptionist/concierge who went out of her way to be helpful.

The helpfullness & friendly attitude of the hotel staff made our stay an enjoyable experience and dispelled our anxieties about ongoing travel. We thoroughly recommend the hotel's facilities for bed & breakfast accommodation.

The room we occupied was indeed clean and spacious. WE had a good veiw of the sea and street area. Breakfast was Excellent! Very important to us was the proximity to Train station(5min.walk)and Port entrance(10min walk). We were on a cruise at the time! Only small mark against the Hotel, if one required shuttle to port, would be the 20 euro they asked for. But there should be no need as it is a very easy walk to cruise line shuttles--even with bags.

The name of the hotel is mediterraneo roses. we were looking for suisse. The hotle is downtown on the main street. people were making noise outside over midnigth on a friday. We could here normal conversation through the walls which prevented from sleeping. The price compared to similar hotels in Rome and elsewhere in Italy is a bit high

The room was small but it worked fine for us. Bathroom good. Lighting for reading not good. The carpeting in the hallways and in our bedroom was not clean in the corners. Also the baseboard was missing in one area of our room. The lobby was very pretty -- wooden floors beautiful, however, when we arrived on Sun. nite and the sun was shining on the floors it was very evident that they had not been dusted all day. Monday morning at 10:00 the floors still had not been dusted and a bird feather was almost in the front door. The hotel has a wonderful location to train station, good breakfast and pleasing decor. The floors just need to be cleaned . Breakfast room was very hot. It felt like no air was circulating. Yes, I would stay there again because it has many advantages and I believe those problems I cited can be easily corrected. Someone just got sloppy.

Having travelled all over the world, I was very impressed by the receptionist who was very well informed about the area, great personality, and was quite helpful about surrounding resturants, I will be planning another cruise next year, and I will be making reservations for a group of four, great job, keep up the great work. A good, serviceable hotel with a very convenient location -- walking distance from both the ferry terminal and the train station, and close to the main piazza.
