Hotel Vannucci - Città della Pieve

Overall, an excellent, comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful and competent staff. Breakfast was very good as was the attached restaurant. Only one slight irritation - the room we had was affected by fan noise from the kitchen, but not excessively so. We would certainly recommend this hotel and the town of Citta della Pieve.

Stayed only 1 night in this fabulous hotel which also has private parking which is a bonus. Were offered the choice of 2 rooms on arrival. We had asked for a room with balcony and as there were none available - instead we were upgraded and chose a superior room with walk out terrace. Excellent breakfast with a wide variety of typical continental foods. Città della Pieve is a hidden gem, very scenic and well worth a visit. Not a lot to do but a great base for overnight stay or stop over for a few nights. Bistrot del Duca restaurant is a must - wonderful food - great service it's a bit difficult to find but well worth the effort. It's not every restaurant where the bill is written on scrap of brown paper.

We were planning a vacation in Umbria and happened upon the Vannucci web site. The hotel is the reason we went to Citta della Pieve. Both the hotel and city are lovely and well worth a visit. Citta della Pieve is one of the nicest of the many walled hill towns we went to in Umbria. It's a lovely place to spend a few relaxing days. Ask the hotel to arrange a wine tasting for you. We had a great experience doing that at one of the local restaurants, which included a foray into the tunnels under the city. There's a surprise!

This hotel was excellent. Fantastic stair case in reception. Great location, very helpfull staff, especially when it came to finding our bikes in the basement! Pizzeria ajoining hotel is very good. Room was not very big but spotless. Air con worked. There was lots to choose from at breakfast, fruit, toast, meat, eggs, cheese, fruit juice, tea, coffee. One of the best we had on our 10 day, 8 hotel, cycling hol. Pieve is quiet but very pretty.

The hotel was somewhat difficult to find since there is only a sign for the hotel's restaurant Zafferano out front on the street. The sign for the hotel is actually above the door and only visible after you enter the garden. The restaurant is a bit expensive but worth it. The included breakfast was very nice with ample choices for anyone. The staff was outstanding and the town is well worth visiting.

Staff were extremely helpful in suggesting local restaurants. Breakfast was excellent. A beautiful hotel.
