Hotel Louis II - Ciampino, Rome

The hotel was nice but it was difficult to find. It would be helpful to provide a printable map, eg google, on the website. The walk from the station is not too far once you find the right road, but it isn't obvious, especially for a tired traveller. But the room was clean and adequate, bathroom and shower were good and staff pleasant. Breakfast was disappointing with very little choice.

This is by no means a 3-star hotel at it claims to be, our room was more like a concrete, under-the-roof big cottage room. Its vicinity to Ciampino airport is overstated, as it does not provide shuttle service. To get to the airport one has 2 choices: (i) to take a bus that they say is 800 mt from the hotel (800 mt with luggage?), or (ii) to ask the hotel to call a cab. The car we got was from a private company, and it cost 20 Euros for 2 km, vs the 30 Euros one would pay from Rome city. One legitimately wonders whether the hotel is in business with the private car company. But, the hotel is sure cheaper than those in Rome city, so make your calculations before jumping to conclusions.

I stayed there only one night, and everything was quite good; the room was nice and comfortable; the breakfast was satisfactory.
