Hotel Lorenzo Motor Lodge - Riccarton, Christchurch

The room felt almost new, immaculately clean and with excellent facilities including a little garden area with table. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A wonderful place to stay in Christchurch, near the centre yet easy to get to. I am so glad to hear it has survived the earthquake unscathed.

We stayed here for one night prior to flying home from NZ. despite the difficulties and presures all motels and restaurants were having during the earthquake aftermath, our hosts Mike and Mary could not have done enough for us and were kindness itself. .The food at the local Italian restaurant was excellent too. Lorenzo is a great place to stay.

We were looked after very well by Mary and Mike, i could not praise them highly enough. We had a room upgrade without even asking. The facilities and cleanliness of the room were excellent. We would definately stay here again and would recommend to anyone.

A very welcoming well run hotel

Mike and Mary coundn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The accomodation was 5*. Couldn't have asked for more.

I chose the Lorenzo because it was the motel on the Riccarton strip that was closest to the center of Christchurch. Riccarton Rd. doesn't have much to recommend it, but the city center is a pleasant walk from the Lorenzo through the park. There's a great coffee and breakfast spot across the street, and the Italian restaurant recommended by the owner was just fine. The owners were gracious, welcoming, and helpful. Note that "hotel surroundings" is given a lower rating because Riccarton Rd. is a busy, nondescript thoroughfare; the Lorenzo itself is attractive, and the owners have brightened the street view with a small rose garden.
