Very pleasent stay (also with two little kids). The girls at the reception were very pretty and professional as well, the man parked our big car perfectly in the narrow street beside the hotel. It was clever to prereserve a parking place by email, while they have only 4 or 5 places there. Chioggia is a beautiful, little Venice with this best, centrally located hotel. The wellness was useful (thanks to Giovanni to get in)while there is no beach in Ch., anyway nice place to walk, eat, etc. for max.1-2 days.

location and hotel standard is exellent. It was my first time at the Grande Italia and I would suggest that, if travelling by car, it is better to contact directly the hotel to book a car parking, that they have in limited number, to avoid going around Chioggia looking for a public parking.

Overall I would highly recommend this hotel, based on comfort, location, convenience & attractive public spaces (especially the gorgeous breakfast room). However it is not perfect. Service especially was patchy, and the room was quite small. Standard rooms are small compared to the photos on their website, which show more expensive lagoon view rooms and suites. But our room was comfortable, attractively furnished, clean, & quiet; the bathroom was large and very comfortable, with all new fixtures. The AC control system annoyingly re-set to 24 degrees C whenever the key was removed and was hard to adjust. TV channels were limited (nice new set though). Daytime staff were helpful and efficient; however staff on duty after 5 pm were less so. All spoke English well, as well as several other languages (Italian, German, French), but fluency varied. Good array of services (beach transfers and bicycle rental; lovely breakfast buffet). But this isn't top notch service: no sense that they would do anything beyond the ordinary, and sometimes even ordinary requests annoyed or overwhelmed them. Also, there are LARGE extra charges for almost everything (bike rental: 10 euros per day; internet: 9 euros per day; beach towels: 5 euros per towel per day). Parking is a problem: to park at the hotel, you must reserve in advance specifically for a parking space in addition to the room, and it's expensive. It was full so we never used it; there is cheap public parking about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. If you want a "twin" room (made up as 2 separate beds) you must indicate as much EXPLICITLY in the special request box when you reserve: this was a major hassle on arrival.

A very nice Hotel in a very nice little Venice! The only problem maybe the lack of parking places directly in front of it. 100% suggested for people on vacation - be it couples or families .

We chose to begin our Italian vacation in Chioggia because we wanted a place to relax and acclimatize to the time difference and the culture - a real working Italian community that was not full of tourists. It was an excellent choice and we stayed 3 days at this older gracious hotel. Our double room was not modern but was well furnished with a very pleasant bathroom. The buffet breakfast and service were excellent with a wonderful view of the lagoon and ships. Ferry service to Venice is right beside the hotel. There are reasonable restaurants within a short walk.

We booked a premium room so that we coud see the water. We were given a room on the 1st floor (2nd US). There was a wedding in the ballroom directly below our room that went on from 6pm to 12:30am. It was difficult to even hear CNN. We had gone out for most of the evening, but when we returned, the desk could do little for us. The next morning I spoke to the young woman at the desk, and she was apologetic. As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry, this was not well handled by the management. It was clear from talking to the staff that the manager knew about the problems but had a wedding to accommodate--and the guests were quite frankly, not on his radar. As this is not high tourist season in Chioggia, the manager should not have booked those rooms; he needs to understand his property--and take care of his guests.

The price is on a par with similar rooms in similar hotels in Tuscany, and especially, Venice. The bathrooms are large and very well done. The rooms themselves arel ovely, and ours looked out over the seaport. The breakfast was superior to most. I recommend that detailed instructions be given on how to drive to the hotel from the major North/South Road (11, 319?). It was almost impossible to find the hotel and to get out again! It is at the far end of a pedestrian mall, and cars are allowed through -- but overall, the Chioggia area is larger than one suspects, and it isn't just a matter of heading in and out!

very good & helpful reception staff good location, very comfortable room, very clean.however, shower curtaining needs improvement. lovely breakfast room, coffee to strong for my taste.would have preferred non continental roast which tastes burned to me.the bread rolls were awful,no taste or texture, like eating polystyrene.good bread & croissants are available in Chioggia.did,nt use the outside bar,as the musak was abominable screechy ,only appreciated by tone deaf youngsters, Shame, as the location was good for people watching

This was our first time in this hotel. The ferry to Venice is at 9 in the morning. If you prefer not to wake up so early, the alternative is a ferry-bus-ferry travel that takes one hour and a half. It has only 8 parking spaces in a non drive village.

The best hotel in Chioggia - definitelly not cheap, though prices drop outside High Season. You can't beat the location, just a few steps from the vaporetto stop. The views from the breakfast hall are fine (and breakfast is good too). If you arrived to Chioggia by train and decided to walk into town (15/20 min - apart from the first 5 minutes along a busy road this is the best way to get to the hotel if you don't have a lot of luggage), ignore the signs directing you to the left after you cross the lagoon - walk straight on instead.

Our hotel was great, but there was a lot of construction going on in the immediate area, which was pretty intrusive. Of course, there is nothing that the hotel can do about this. I guess it would be nice if the hotel could provide instructions on how to get there from the A4 on the web site.
