Hotel Caldin's - Chioggia

Chioggia is a great place. Caldins is a good place to stay.

Caldin's is a wonderful little hotel in a wonderful little city. Not fancy, but spotlessly clean and excellent beds. Cafe and grocery store very near. Fausto's recommendations of restaurants were excellent.

We staid 4 days and can fully recommend the Caldin's, although there is no breakfast provided, there is the possibility to brew coffee and tea in the room and a bar is closeby.

I stayed at Caldin’s in December. I wanted a single room, none was available, and they gave me a double at the single rate. The front desk people were good and helpful. Heating in the room worked well, a good thing as it was bitterly cold, and the room was spotlessly clean. The room was on the second floor, there is no elevator but the stairs are wide and easy. The hotel was full, yet very quiet, and it faces a canal and fondamenta with little traffic. They don’t do breakfast, but the bar (turn right as you leave the hotel and it’s 50 yards) does the usual coffee and brioche. There is a big street market in Chioggia on Thursdays. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the ferry terminal – walk up the main street, turn right after you cross the bridge, and it’s well signed. I was glad with my choice.

The hotel manager was most welcoming and particularly helpful to the traveller. It was a delight to stay at Caldins -- it was central, quiet, inexpensive, clean and welcoming. When the work on the canal immediately in front of the hotel is completed it will also have a very attractive aspect -- across the canal directly in front of the duomo. Can recommend Caldins highly.

We thought that the hotel gave value for money but would have liked two chairs in the double room.We stayed at Caldins in 2001 and felt that it was value then but would have liked another chair then also.It is only a short bus ride to Venice and Padova where prices are much higher.Chiogga has good places to eat also at reasonable rates.We are in our 70's and would stay there again the standard and rooms met our expectations.

Small hotel excellent and simple

Itwas OK, work was going on at the front of the hotel on a canal, finding the hotel and parking was difficult. Reception is a small office appart from the rooms. Rooms are up a separate stair in next building, no public rooms. Sat TV, fridge and kettle were good though and gentleman owner was helpful. Lady on arrival was not so interested, she didne tell us about the bus to Venice, only the expencive ferry that stops at 5pm, the bus was much better. Hotel served it's purpose.

Nice, clean rooms and friendly staff. Near main street. Difficult to park. Nice café close to hotel. Absolutely OK for one or two nights.

Perfect rooms! Clean, airco and comfortable beds. A perfect hotel to stay a couple of nights!

Beautiful location, easy to find, large and airy room, very helpful staff.

I recommend this hotel.They manage the hotel their own family.They are very kind. my room is new,very clean and wide for price. breakfast is not included. but there is a supermarket in the next building. we can get something to eat easily. also there are some restaurants near the hotel If you want to eat delicious sea food,you can have it inexpensive than venezia.

Best value for many - very friendly owners. Chioggia ist a good alternative to the big sister Venice!

Perfect place to stay if you are bike touring the Po Delta and taking the island route in/out of Venice (Chioggia is worth a full day to explore). Lorenzo was a great fellow with lots of good information. And we had a large secure room to store our tandem and trailer.

Nice and helpful owner family.Clean hotel or Albergo =no breakfast included,but lot´s of restaurants and cafes and grocery nearby.There was a small fridgerator in the room.The area outside the hotel was under construction,but it was near to the main street of Chioggia,so it was easy to walk there.
