Overall the stay was pleasant. The location is excellent. The amenities in the room were of high quality and the bed very comfortable. The door to the TV cabinet was off it's hinges and the lighting in our room and the common sitting areas is not bright enough for reading. The staff was, for the most part, pleasant and helpful. I would definitely reccomend this hote.

We arrived while their system was down so all of our reservation requests were not available,had to wait for 1/2 hour and than remind desk that we were there again as this occurred during change of shifts from day to night, were put in a room on lower floor than requested which resulted in more street noisethan desirable. Room was spacious but we could not control the heating system even after shutting it off too warm. Location is fabulous for walking all directions, would stay there again and plan to next trip to Chi. town.

Very little natural light. I had to have the lights on during the day. Watch out for the A/C. I had to change rooms 3 times until I got an A/C that was working or not leaking, and still got a very noisy one, but was tired of changing rooms all the time. For the price of $20 breakfast was really not worth it. The people who prepare it must be very stingy. Apart from these flaws, the staff are very friendly and very customer focused. They upgraded me to a superior room because of the A/C problem. The location is excellent - right in the heart of the shopping area.

We were expecting a very nice hotel because of the price of the rooms...needless to say we were very disappointed. The hotel was very old and the staff was not accomodating. The only good part about our stay was the fact that we were so busy we were only in the room to sleep and the bed was very comfortable. The location to Michigan Ave. was perfect, but there were much nicer hotels in the area for the same price. Next time we visit Chicago, we won't be returning the the Whitehall.
