This is the most "standard" room; everything fine, nothing special. We were on our way to Val de Loir, and needed just one night stay, so this hotel was perfect, just 100 yards from the train station and close to the cathedral. We did not know that because of the Fete de la Ascencion life would be paralyzed; no bus, no train. We tried to rent a car from Hertz -but felt like they kind of tried to take advantage of the situation charging too much and not offering service at all. The reception staff of the hotel was correct and courteous....point. Except for Mary Lou, who was so kind helping us to contact another car rental agency, so that we could continue our travel plans. This lady made the difference in our stay at Inter-Hotel.

Fantastic location and spacious rooms (although rather dark). Hotel has a nice ambience and is very peaceful. Only reservation is regarding the air conditioning which is controlled centrally, and the receptionist seemed rather reluctant to turn it on in our room when asked.

Excellent location - just a short walk to the Cathedral, and the train station is just down the street. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable, and a nice view of the Cathedral! As with most hotels during our trip in France, the breakfast was way overpriced. You're better off stopping at a cafe and saving at least half of their cost.

Wonderful location - room had view of the cathedral (which also meant you heard the bells....). Good experience there. Public rooms a bit un-user friendly to have drink in the evening - had to move chairs and tables to provide for 3 people to sit and talk.

I found the hotel well appointed and the staff very friendly. The hotel is in a perfect location - easy walk from the train station and easy stroll to the town's historic and eating out attractions. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We booked a superior room for our last night in France and were very disappointed - no working air conditioning and a grotty hanging rail covered by a curtain instead of a wardrobe. On arriving we immediately told the management that the A/C was not working and we needed it to work or another room. This was clearly in the price of the room. My wife has MS and she needs to keep cool and this was explained as best I could to the desk. The reception noted that 'the hotel needed to activate it' and seemed suprised we wanted it despite my explanations and it being 30 degrees out. Why should I need to even have to ask for it when we have paid for it in the room rate!! They agreed to sort it out so we went out for the evening. But, when we arrived back late and tired from a nice dinner in the town we found it still did not work. We had a dreadful night as no air could circulate into the room and it stayed hot throughout. Also with the windows wide open the echos from the urban car park environment beneath killed off any chance of this being an enjoyable stay. Despite a complaint in the morning using my weak French to the same receptionist no recognition or apology was given. Net result: an exhausted tetchy drive home which ruined our trip. This was one of the most expensive stops on this trip and the worst by far of all hotels we have stayed in. The breakfast was ok though. Next time I'd stick to a reliable Mercure.

The Chatelet staff was very pleasant, welcoming and focussed on service. They answered all questions about Chartres (dining, shopping and touring) with helpful details. The hotel's location is excellent, within walking distance of historic sites and museums. Breakfast is good quality for the price. Parking is secure.

We had to change he room reserved for us, since the bed was too small. The standard French size is ridiculous! The double bed was 160 cm by 190 cm and had a foot board! Not good for a man who is 194cm tall!!! The French hotels need to modernize their bed sizes. The new room offered had a large, modern bed, but we were supposed to pay more, which we refused.

It was only to be a stopover on the way to the Loire Valley, however it was very charming. The breakfast was very good. Our room was very modern, simplistic and all newly renovated. The town itself was quaint and well worth visiting. We would highly recommend it.

Hotel cómodo y muy cerca de la Catedral, ideal para la visita de Chartres, pero deberíam imcluir en el precio el servicio de parking, ya que en la zona no se puede aparcar. Por lo demás el servicio es excelente.

The Chatelet was most welcoming. The proprietors were wonderful to us. The hotel is on the street that runs up from the train station. It was busy, but the windows and the automatic shutters sealed out the noise well. It was on a one way street but now it is two way. It is close to the cathedral and even closer to the bakery. They serve a beautiful breakfast, but it was 18 Euros added to the bill. The parking is secure and we left the car and walk the city.

Great overnight stop approximately 4 hours from Calais. Nothing to look at from the outside but very central location and extremely convenient for the cathedral. The rooms were well sound-proofed. No restaurant but some lovely restaurants just a short stroll away all around the cathedral. Private car parking was appreciated as it meant we did not have to worry too much about leaving stuff in the car overnight. Breakfast next morning was good, coffee hot and lots of fresh bread and croissants and the rest. Our bathroom had obviously been recently re-furbished although we would have appreciated a shower curtain!
