Hotel Reviews Château d'Esclimont

Fantastic location, and gorgeous historic building, gardens and surroundings. Very welcoming staff. On request staff provided a delicious platter of salad, cold meats, salmon, etc., as I explained I would be too late to catch dinner. However, take your own champagne, as the mini bar is even more expensive than most + they make their money on their (excellent) food and beverages. Nonetheless, I strongly recommend this hotel. Loved it and will return!

We paid EUR 160 for a tiny roof chamber without air condition - in mid August. Plus, you should be aware that you will almost certainly hear the traffic on the nearby autoroute and the route nationale. The park is very nice, though. At least in those parts that aren't inaccessible due to lack of gardening capacity or care or whatever reason.

A lovely setting, with good grounds to wander around before dinner. Dining room seemed a little crowded, particularlywhen the people onthe next table were rather loud! We had a very pleasant stay.

Chateau d'Esclimont is a wonderful location, giving a taste of royal France. Only the breakfast was somewhat overpriced and could be skipped for a nice croissant and coffee at Chartres.

This was the first time we stayed in this chateau, and we where very pleased for the hospitality, services and food. We recomend the reservation for dinner, the menu is very interesting, even if it is expensive, and the personnel is very kind and ready to help. Congartulations.

This is a beautiful property with very friendly helpful staff. The dinner menu was a little limited. It was quite easy to find by car.

I stayed there many years ago when it was under the Relais Chateaux management. Sadly, it has deteriorated but not enough to lessen the wonderful experience.

A beautiful Chateau and Parkland. Wonderful service and Food. We wish we had been able to stay longer.

The staff were very aloof and not engaging with the clients. The atmosphere was unwelcoming as a consequence. I got the impression that the staff were expecting the guest to be impressed by the surroundings and that anything else was not important. The dining room was not well run. Over eager staff, slow and cold food. All of these points were mentioned on the questionnaire at the hotel.

We felt like royalty. This is a four-star hotel that deserves its rating. The hotel is stunning and the grounds are breathtaking. The staff was a little "stuffy" but they also helped with every need we had. When we arrived late in the evening and wanted to simple dinner, we got a special salad created just for us! The swimming pool area is beautiful. We took a long walk in the forest that surrounds the area. This hotel isn't located very close to villages or other services so if you extend your stay be prepared to pay four-star prices for all of the services; however, this one is probably worth it. The price for our room was an excellent value..we wouldn't trade this experience. You can visit Chartres (just OK) and Fountainbleu (beautiful) from this location. There are also balloon rides everywhere.

We are a family of 4 (2 older teens) and reserved 2 classique rooms for a single night in April, en route from Paris to Amboise. The rooms we were given had to have been upgrades: very large, luxurious suites, one with a "tower room", overlooking the moat and castle grounds. It was spectacular. The bathrooms were huge, with robes and heated towel racks. Each room had a flatscreen tv. The furnishings were elegant and comfortable. Service staff were everywhere, quiet and responsive. Couldn't access WiFi, tho, so had to use the computer near the lobby that is housed in an old tiny telephone closet. We were warned away from the extremely expensive dinner by this website, so only opted for the 35 euro breakfast ($50 pp) which was a splurge, but worth it because we stayed all morning to take advantage of the beautiful property. The hotel provided complimentary bikes which we road on trails. A heated outdoor pool was available, but the air temperature was too cool (high 50sF) to swim. We highly recommend this property, particularly if you luck out with an upgrade, as we did!

Lovely place to stay. Old but perfect rebuilted house. Excellent diner (not cheap, but worthy). Location is right in the middle of nowhere.

A beautiful place to stay. A little bit of a problem in the summer as there is no A/C and it was quite hot when we were there.

The room was comfortable and we wished we had time to stay longer. The Easter Egg in the room was subsequently much enjoyed by my children! Dinner was excellent - especially the cheese- thoroughly enjoyed and the staff were friendly and knowledgable.
