Hotel Ifigenia Rooms & Studios - Chania

We stayed in a very pleasant and interestingly converted room in the Venetian hotel, the access being up two flights of spiral stairs and once in the spacious apartment with balconies to front and side of building, the bed was accessed with another small spiral staircase which was on a mezzanine deck with the Jacuzzi bath to one side. We were offer another room accessed by one flight of spiral stairs and Sophia and her staff could not be more helpful, but this is an important point to be aware of as if you had to use to toilet in the night you had to go down the inner spiral stairs and back. The fittings to our room were serviceable but on the whole it needed a refit, but was presentable and very clean. On the overall you could have not got a more authentic taste of life inside the old walled city of Chania and we had a very enjoyable two night stay.

The ifigenia's has different types of rooms to choose the best suit for you. We went there and they showed us some of them. The traditional studio we rent was very romantic and high of quality. The room serve for free wine and local RAKI.The decoration of the rooms is lovely with venetian stylish The staff is pleasant very helful and friendly with plenty of good advice to on Chania and Crete. You will not disappointed spenting your holiday there just trust me... looking forward to go there again

This is a lovely place to stay and very well located.

We stayed in Orio pension area (Ifigenia studios has 6 different location/buildings). Location is great, in the hearth of Hania centre, 500 meters from venetian harbour. Rooms are little, but well furnished (kitchen, hair conditioning). We stayed at the 3rd and highest floor that has a little terrace with harbourd view. Bath is very unconfortable because of shower positioned in front of WC. Pension has no elevator and a steep spiral staircase. Suggested only to young people without children.

The boss is a rude, uneducated. Rooms old, abandoned and ramshackle. No photos corresponds to the room. And he didn´t give me a bill if not extra money. A scoundrel. In the vicinity there are many better lodgings. One disappointment, the next day I went.

We booked 2 rooms - a suite (95 euro) and a double room (65 euro), and they were both in Ifigenia I. Both were very clean, nicely furnished and comfortable, with mini kitchens, dining table and jacuzzi. The rooms were excellent value for money, right in the heart on the old town in Hania, one street behind the port. The double room was on the ground floor, and had no outside space. The suite was up two very narrow, twisty flights of stairs (would be hard to get large case up there, and wouldn't suit infirm people), but had a nice wooden balcony over looking the old streets, and was very large, with sofa, armchairs and dining table. Both rooms also had free bottles of wine and Raki. Unfortunately, in the suite I couldn't use the jacuzzi as the bath had a leak in it! When I told the owner the next day, he was not at all apologetic, saying just that he didn't know. However, I would still recommend these rooms highly - great position and value for money. The girl who met us when we arrived was very helpful (there is a free phone to reception in the lobby of Ifigenia II). You can park in the Forteza car park at the end of the old port, 5 mins walk from the rooms. They are very quiet as they are not on the actual port.

The owner was extremely cordial and helpful. The staff went out of their way to help us with any needs. We loved our room which overlooked the harbor from the second floor. Great location as well.

View from room was spectacular and by climbing out of window we had a balcony overlooking the harbour where we could eat breakfast or watch the sunset. Room was very cramped but with a 4 poster bed so it felt romantic! There were lots of communal outdoor and indoor spaces and the location was brilliant. Service was very cold verging on rude. We chose to find alternative, more welcoming accomodation on our return to Hania.
