Great accomodation and great staff. Located in a lovely area right near the waterfront of the old harbour. Got woken up a few times by loud germans on their way home from the late bars but that is a price is worth paying for such a nice room/location, and no work in the morning so just go back to sleep and have a lay in. Top tip for Hania, the best restaurants don't tout for your trade, they get full up without trying. Ask the man at the Doge for his recommendations. Room price was quite a bit cheaper when booked via Venere.

Excellent location, near to the venetian port, but quite noisy at night because of the music in the street. The room was very spacious, with a little kitchen and a dining table. Unfortunately, the bathroom didn't smell very well and the shower didn't have curtains.

George was very nice and helpful.Breakfast was very good. The room (we stayed in room 8) were big and decorated with real style. The location was very good--right on one of the walking streets near the harbor and a short walk to the bus station.

Spacious rooms with beautiful interior details. The airy feeling was excellent, as the temperatures outside was very high... Good breakfast served by very charming people in the back yard. At any time! We loved it.

The "hotel" is not a real hotel, so we had a hard time finding it, with all the luggage. Finally we saw a taped paper sign on a window shop, saying "doge". We asked to the person inside the shop and she couldn't find our reservation. She called someone on the phone and they started to argue loudly. Then she showed us a room in the backside. Doge is not an hotel at all, it has some rooms here and there, with no real hotel service. Our room was clean but the bathroom too small, with cold weater and the sink so small it was unusable for me. Furnishment is just poor, maybe someone can call this "styled" but it doesn't work for me.

We had booked the unit described as " FAMILY (4 guests)Traditional style comfortable rooms for 4 people" for a family of 4 adults. We instead were given a room with a double bed, one twin bed and a little baby cot. Only when we complained, the very friendly but what turned out to be very devious owner told us that the room we had booked was not available, because the previous guests had decided to extend their stay, and we were offered accomodations down the street, in a unit on the 3rd floor(no elevator)with 2 futons, and a double bed in a half attic loft above where you hit your head every time you sat up on the bed. We soon found out that the toilet leaked causing a disgusting flood in the bathroom, and when we complained, we were told they were aware of the problem and that we should just turn the water on when we wanted to flush the toilet and turn it off when we were done, duh.... The cleaning lady (who asked us what cleaning we wanted done) used our dirty towels to mop up the flood in the bathroom and failed to provide us with any clean towels until we asked.....running down the street to the retail store/hotel office when we realized she had not provided any.....oh, and when we requested a second key we were told that we needed to bring it back every morning because it was needed by the cleaning lady and pick it up again in the afternoon(another joke as she didnt do anything anyway). And last but not least, the unit was above a restaurant which had loud live music till at least 3am and at 6 am the street cleaners and delivery vehicles arrived making sleep all but impossible. Almost forget the " comprehensive breakfast" which consists of a cup of coffee, 2 crackers, and a piece of cake served in the back alley.Four star ratings???????? we think not!!!!!!!

We liked the room we had - quiet, spacious etc. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel is well situated to explore Chania and is only a few minutes away from restaraunts and shops. It is also about five minutes to the bus station for exploring the other parts of this side of the island.
