Hotel La Savoyarde - Chamonix-Mont-Blanc

Unas vistas maravillosas en una típica casa Savoyarda. Es el hotel más antiguo de Chamonix y en él se han alojado personajes como Churchill o el General Montgomery. Nuestra habitación era en la planta baja y la puerta de la habitación daba al jardín. Al principio me dio rabia que no me hubiera tocado una habitación en la primera planta con su terraza pero luego me dió igual. Todas las tardes salíamos a sentarnos al jardín para contemplar las vistas. Sin duda volvería a este hotel

Hotel di grande fascino, con vista stupenda, buon confort. Non lontano dal centro anche se il ritorno è una salita non proprio leggera.

The hotel is in a quiet location and being close to the gondola station is ideal for those outdoor enthusiasts who wants to explore the mountains in the Le Brevent range. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful and the breakfast was excellent. I visit Chamonix often for walking holidays and this was the first time I had stayed at the Savoyard but it will not be the last.

First time I visited Chamonix. Stayed there 3 nights in summer 2008 (great wheather!). Very nice garden with great view on Montblanc. Small single room with a quite reasonable balcony as usual in this category. Great location, friendly service, enjoyed it much. Also pretty small appartments available with access to the beautiful garden. Private parking space for free.

Superb location. At the base of the Brevant cable car and a 15 minute walk to the Mont Blanc cable car but it up an incline. The staff all spoke English and provided good service. Far enough away from the town centre to be quiet but close enough stroll in for the evening. The top of Mont Blanc is a must!

Loved the place. It was small, old and stylish, cosy with a very friendly welcome. Maybe some of the staff (cleaning/reception) could learn some better english, but everything worked out just fine. Great location, just 2 minutes walking to the Brevent cable car and the bus stop. Quiet lovely rooms, and the hotel had special areas for the skis and boots.

Italian staff could not speak english and/or french. No skiinfo (skimaps etc.) at all was provided at hotel.

What a disappointment! We had read the reviews for this hotel and thought it would be nice. Perhaps we got the room no one else had been in (do NOT stay in Room 8)--we should have asked to see another. It was very small, and because the roof sloped, the ceiling was slanted--you couldn't even sit on the toilet or in the bathtub. There was a used drinking glass and dirty ashtray in the room when we checked in--and the front desk clerk was the only unpleasant person we met on our entire trip through France. At breakfast the next morning, we noticed the clerk (the same person who was getting hot drinks and cleaning up in the breakfast room) was surly with everyone else too--not just us--but that still doesn't justify her attitude. Parking is tight and town was overcrowded--might be more fun if youre a bit younger. Be prepared to climb a very steep hill back to the hotel if you head into town.

The Savoyarde is an excellent budget hotel situated within five minutes walk from the center. The Brevant cable car is practically next door to the hotel, so a cool sportclimb during the summer months is within short distance. The staff was very nice and provided usefull hints and tips during our stay.

We enjoyed our stay, especially because it was outside of the busy areas of Chamonix while still within walking distance from the centre. Nice location up on the hill, away from the crowds. We would recommend it to friends.

We stayed in Chamonix for 5 days, plenty of time to see the surrounding area. We spent two mornings on Mont Blanc. Go early to miss the crowds. The ride across the glacier is well worth the money. We also highly recommend a paraglide trip off a glacier. The hotel is wonderful - it is close enough to the town to be convenient and far enough away to feel like you are in the quiet countryside.

The location of La Savoyade is superb for the Telecabine du Brevent (25 metres), has superb views across to the Mont Blanc masif and is only 10 minutes walk from the town centre.

The staff were very polite, courteous and helpful. My family and I enjoyed are stay.

Very nice place and nice employees. Rooms were a little small but that's to be expected. Excellent location if you're there to ski.
