The hotel is located right in the center of Chamonix, at walking distance of everything you might need. The room and bathroom were quite dated, but clean. As the whole of Chamonix, I guess it is on the expensive side. 14 Euros for breakfast is a bit too much for me, but luckily the supermarket is literally around the corner.

We stayed at the hotel for one night to do some skiing in nearby Le Tour and the Chamonix town based Brevent-Flegere domain. The location is excellent for enjoying Chamonix town and the ski lift Brevent so not too far (but it is uphill so recommend a drive to the car park or take the Chamonix bus). The hotel is a bit "dated" in decor (especially the bathrooms), but it was clean and good value for money. We did not eat at the hotel nor did we use the spa as we thought we had to pay for it (10 Euro) but apparently the recepeionist forgot to give us the free access card.

The Hotel needs a total refresh, specially the restaurant. Food was awefull, and seemed to have been coocked in a microwave.Breakfest was the same: no more coffe cups at 8.30, no more plates, old bread, and staff seemed more eager to share their private life stories together rather than trying to help. I will never come back to this hotel

The hotel is conveniently located close to the walking area. The staff was friendly and helpful. The sauna and steam room were cold and not satisfactory. The internet connection was not free: in non-tourist period it would be a plus for business travelers.

Great hotel, welcoming and friendly staff. Rooms have fabulous views. Typical alpine decor. Clean and spacious rooms. Try the waffles from the stand nearby - fabulous.

Good location. Restaurant in upper floor with excellent view to Mont Blanc. Delicious dinner. Car may be parked in the hotel, in underground parking nearby or in free parking approx. 500 m away. Bathroom equipment would need improvement. Supermarket and shops available in the ground floor. Close distance to town center and cable cars. Cheaper rooms with view to Brevent seem to be also smaller and do not have balcony. A bit noisy early morning, when goods is delivered to supermarket.

Large hotel, centrally located, rooms and public areas adequate but not luxurious.Reasonable standard for price paid.Impossible to park outside even to drop off luggage. However underground car park spacious and safe.Wifi only available in Reception not in room as claimed.Arrived for breakfast at 09.30 and most hot food had not been replenished, so at 14 Euros we didn't stay. Most guests in February were skiers.

A friend and I each stayed in a standard room. After reading negative reviews on the site I was most pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel and rooms. The rooms are large, nearly like a small suite with separate dressing area and toilet and a delightful balcony. It had a huge bath for soaking in after a long sore day skiing. The breakfast was good value at €14 and on the 7th floor with stunning views. The ski rental in the hotel was very conventient. It is a short walk to the nearest lift. The hotel is very central so many places to eat nearby. The lobby has a lovely log fire and lounge area. It was more or less all I would expect from a ski hotel.

The hotel is overpriced and is not good value for money. Our room was basic, clean and well serviced, but the pillows had seen better days and were virtually useless. HOWEVER, the staff are very helpful and polite. I left a fleece top which is very precious to me in my room when we checked out. When I realised the next day I contacted the hotel and they said they would contact housekeeping and get back to me. They found the jumper and offered to post it to me in th UK (for a fee!). I received the top a couple of days ago, it was very well wrapped - so I am really grateful to all the staff involved. This shows that the staff care about their guests. The hotel is in an excellent location just a few minutes walk from the shops/restaurants and a carpark, as Alpina's car park gets full quickly. On Saturday's there is a market with local produce just a stones throw from the hotel. The bus stops to the ski lifts are located just outside the hotel, although the lifts are within walking distance (in snowboard boots). The hotel can also provide a free travel pass (bus and trains) for the duration of your stay, although you will have to ask several times, as the staff are not forthcoming with it. There is also a "spa" in the hotel - but this is also overpriced. The hotel restaurant is on the top floor and has beautiful views of Mont Blanc and Brevent. Breakfast is very good - it has everything, a choice of hot and cold foods. We were half board - dinner was not great, there was plenty to eat, but it was't tasty french cuisine.

Very good value price/quality. Only two problems: 1- Yes, there is wifi internet available in all rooms, but paying to swisscom, and its very expensive. 2- We left one day earlier than previst, and they wanted us to pay the full price of de reservation. Finaly they didn't, but it was a bad detail.

A good ski hotel with associated wear. Excellent location, probably worth the extra euros for the Mt Blanc side view and balcony. My room was on the Mt. Brevent side and still had a decent view. My American friends stayed in a different room and did not like the toilet in a separate room from the bath (their hangup). I hope to get back.

I travelled with a friend of mine, and we reserved 2 single rooms - price EUR 85,- per. night. I got room 227 and my friend room 419. I terms of space and comfort there was a huge difference between what he got and what I got. Considering we paid the same price, this was for me a big disappointment. The safe in my room was locked at time of arrival and when I requested help from the reception to open it. It took 18 hours before one of your staff came to help me. The person was unsuccessful in helping me and said that she had to talk to another colleague to get more help. I never heard anything more from the staff. I the meantime I placed my valuables in the safe of my friends room (419) instead. The maindoor to the room was not noiseinsulated, so I was disturbed several times every night when people returned to their rooms. When I checked out, I was asked whether I had taken something from the minibar. I told the receptionist that there was no minibar in my room. It was obvious that the receptionist did not believe me...., and said that the minibar was below the TV. I said one more time that there was no minibar in my room. The receptionist sighed and continued with the check-out....

Excellent location - close to town centre, next to good underground car park, opposite a bus stop (all essential, as you'll know if you know Chamonix). Rooms are small and bathrooms very small, but beds are comfortable, and there's plenty of hot water. Breakfast is usually extra, and expensive (probably due to the top floor view), but there's a supermarket next door - you can go there and buy your own breakfast. A modern, concrete hotel, reasonably priced, not a place with Alpine charm or French cuteness, more a functional hotel, ideal for those who, like me, regard a hotel as just a place to shower and sleep. Internet access in room is wifi, expensive, and not completely reliable. Staff very helpful. Unlike most ski resort hotels, you can book it online and get instant confirmation, as opposed to all this "thank you for your request, we'll get back to you in a few days" nonsense that's still common.

We stayed in a Brevant double room which needed to be updated. However, it was warm and comfortable. The shower was terrible - difficult to get the temperature and pressure right so painful at times! The room was cleaned daily. The hot tub and sauna were nice after a day on the slopes. However, the gym consisted of 2 old stepping machines and shouldn't really be advertised as gym facilities. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location for bars, restaurants and the bus route to and from the slopes. We felt slightly cheated as we paid 104 Euros per night and the hotel was charging 69 euros per night to people who turned up without prior booking. The hotel was very quiet whilst we were there and the hotel bar lacked any atmosphere despite the best efforts of the friendly piano player.

The hotel and the location was amazing. The stuff was very kind and helpful, the food at the restaurant was very good. The breakfast was very good. The room was big but it needs remodeling. I would certainly stay again in this hotel.

We stayed at several hotels in Europe. While the Alpina upgraded us to a Brevant View room without cost, and the room was very clean w/view, The hallway, elevator were shabby and worn. Not what you would expect by outside photo. They are renovating, not mentioned in description and price seemed expensive when compared with hotels in area not rennovating. Location was very nice at end of main street, laundry in mall under hotel, people very friendly and helpful. We had a very nice stay.

We were a group of 8 family related travellers and this was our first stay in Hotel Alpina. We stayed overnight as we were on our way to Italy. The Hotel was excellent, had great views from all angles (did not mind that the view from the bedromm was not Mount Blanc) as the rest of the mountains are nearly as spectaucular. Would recommend a return visit - with a longer stay.
