Hotel Universal - Cervia

Che dire? E' il mio secondo anno allo Universal e la ragione c'è! La struttura merita, soprattutto per chi vuole concedersi una vacanza piacevole e rilassante. Ottimi i servizi dell'albergo, che si presenta adeguatamente curato; assolutamente impareggiabili la cucina ed il buffet che raggiungono spesso le vette dell'eccellenza. Oltremodo encomiabile tutto il personale, in modo particolare quello di sala, per la competenza, la disponibilità e la cortesia. Ottimo il rapporto qualità prezzo. Complimenti!

I would never recommend this hotel. I came to Cervia to be out of the center of Ravenna to see the mosaics, but should have stayed at the Jully in Ravenna. The owner owns several hotels and for the high price, the room was a box, the floor so noisy, the service fair, the breakfast looked good, but not tasty. I was to stay five night, but didn't feel well as I could not sleep and got sick. So I told the staff and they said that I could go, but they had to see what the owner said. They made me write a note that I got sick and had to leave early, but it was because I was sick and could't stay there with the noise and the environment. Also, the room was a box for over 100 euros a night. I would never, never recommend staying at this hotel.

Hotel was excellent for the price; room was not huge but bigger than expected; staff were very friendly and helpful. Aperitif offered on Saturday was a surprise and very pleasant. All staff did their utmost to make our stay comfortable and easy. Swimming pool was good size, clean and with good facilities. Breakfast was excellent and very welcome after our early morning swim! We agreed we would stay at this hotel again if/when we return.

Buon albergo, buon rapporto qualità/prezzo, anche in agosto. Struttura datata ma discretamente tenuta e restaurata. Camera nella quale ho soggiornato: decisamente datata ed angusta. Ottimi la cucina ed il buffet, sia a pranzo che a cena, prezzi esageratamente alti per i vini (27 euro/bottiglia per un "Pagadebit"). Fantastica la colazione. Ottima la posizione, molto bello il bagno Balmor davanti all'hotel. Eccellenti il maitre di sala ma sopratutto il giovane cameriere con i basettoni che mi ha servito: mai incontrato prima una persona di tal bravura, cortesia, rapidità, precisione; superbo, insuperabile!! Bravi comunque, e molto gentili, tutti i camerieri. Note negative: forse perchè solo, ho avuto la chiara e sgradevole sensazione di essere guardato con sospetto dalla proprietaria dell'albergo. Non ho inolte apprezzato una cameriera spesso in servizio al bar (non quella tedesca, molto brava) la quale a volte si comportava come se io non esistessi neppure. Altrettanto inaccettabile, a maggior ragione per una struttura di questo livello, è stato il comportamento del concierge al quale ho chiesto il conto l'ultima sera: non me lo voleva fare perchè temeva che poi avrei preso qualcosa al bar dopo cena: gli ho dovuto spiegare (!!) che stavo partendo e che se avessi preso qualcosa al bar dopo cena lo avrei ovviamente pagato direttamente (sfiducia aberrante! voto 4). Ho riscontrato talora poca cortesia da parte di alcuni altri addetti alla reception i quali talvolta parevano non vedermi neppure quando passavo e preferivano riservare i loro ampi ed ossequiosi saluti solo a clienti forse per loro esterioremente più "rispettabili": ricordo per esempio dei sonori "buongiorno, avvocato!" rivolti ad un avvocato sulla settantina con signora al seguito... (chissà, forse l'avvocato in questione pagava una tariffa speciale con diritto all'ossequio.. O forse avrei dovuto far presente che ho 40 anni e sono laureato anche io.. ??)

Relationship between price/quality quite poor, very very kitsch architecture, very good food

A very nice hotel with a wonderful ocean front location. Be sure to ask for an ocean view, it is a great part of the stay. The staff were very friendly. We were only disappointed by a lack of easy access to a computer for email use. One was provided when asked behind locked doors and for an extra charge to our room. Otherwise we would recommend this location as a great spot for an ocean vacation.
