Hotel Certaldo - Certaldo

Cannot fault anything at the Hotel Certaldo. Quick efficient check in, followed by complimentary glass of sparkling wine in the lovely riverside gardens. Excellent choice and quality of food at breakfast. All staff friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Decor in bedroom and public rooms absolutely delightful. Within walking distance of Certaldo centre. A small town with some excellent restaurants.

The place was really beatifull. Certaldo is a very nice place, near to Florence, Siena and Pisa. The food was excellent. The only thing that Hotel Certaldo need is a restaurante in the hotel, to make the holidays unforgetable.

Nice Hotel in a poor location. A dirty river cross beside the hotel and leaves a bad smell. When we asked the reception for two glasses(empty) to drink our own wine, they refused to borrow. I had to buy my own for the rest of the days.

Der Aufenthalt im Hotel Certaldo war für uns eine sehr positive Überraschung. Das Hotel ist sehr gut ausgesattet und macht Innen einen noblen Eindruck. Von der Empfangshalle bis zu den Zimmern ist alles geschmackvoll und hochwertig gestaltet. Das Badezimmer ist fast verschwenderisch komfortabel. Die Betten sind super bequem. Empfang und Service sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich, das Frühstück für italienische Verhältnisse fast verschwenderisch (aber auch im europäischen Standard sehr gut!). Der Preis für ein Hotel dieser Qualität war wirklich sehr günstig. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und können das Hotel uneingeschränkt empfehlen, zumal auch Certaldo eine hübsche Überraschung bei unserer Toskana-Reise war.

Wonderful room, all very new and luxurious looking, super king size bed. Excellent breakfast area. Only annoyance was public street around hotel was under construction...

Except for its surroundings the hotel deserves a 10 for service,breakfast, cleanliness and spaciousness of rooms. it could do with some high trees to cut off the main roads surrounding it. Good location to visit san geminiano and other villages. the village of certaldo was not nice and the old part was completely dead at night. not much choice for restaurants perhaps we were unlucky with our choice.

New hotel, perfect and kind staff, superb breakfast buffet included in the price. Located in the middle of Tuscany in the triangle between Pisa, Firenze and Sienna. Car needed. Bed and pillows were firm for us....

We stayed the last night of a 10 day tour of Tuscany and Umbria in this lovely hotel. It is a bright modern development of an old corn mill in the lower town area of Certaldo. I have seen the other reviews elsewhere complaining about the location, but whilst it is correct that it is situated at a busy junction on a main road the hotel website is very clear on its position and it is still in an excellent spot due to its proximity to the town. It is literally a 5 minute walk from the hotel, through the shopping area of the lower town, to the funicular which takes you up to the small medieval walled upper town. This is quaint and gorgeous, with fine views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside, and especially good views of San Gimignano. The welcome at the hotel was very warm, during which you are provided with a glass of prosecco whist you book in. The staff were very helpful, spoke impeccable english and provided us with maps of both the upper and lower towns and details of the various restaurants, along with personal recommendations in every price range. The rooms in the hotel are luxurious, very spacious and comfortable, with excellent quality bedding and fabulous bathrooms. Additionally, we heard no noise at all from any other room or the traffic outside, so it was very relaxing. The breakfast was a very good buffet, with an international flavour and as such catered for all tastes.

Magnifique hotel, déjeuner excellent et personnel très aimable. La piscine est plus petite qu'elle paraît sur la photo mais est très agréable. L'emplacement de l'hotel est décevant pour la toscane car on n'a pas une vue sur la campagne. Mais l'hotel est près de San Gimignano et des vignobles environnants. Le funiculaire pour Certaldo Alto permet un séjour magique (nous y avons mangé à l'Antiqua Fonte).

As part of a large group staying at the hotel for the a 'wedding weekend' we could not find fault with this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to ensure the entire occasion was a memorable experience. Breakfast was fantastic each morning and the finish time of 12 MD was popular! The pool area was a welcome haven for our group with comfortable loungers, large umbrellas and bar service on request. The rooms were beautifully decorated and ranged from small and compact rooms to large and luxurious. I would totally recommend this hotel should you be staying in the area.

The hotel is really beautiful, people friendly and the service excellent. As soon as the garden is completed the place will be delightful! Really easy to find. I suggest to visit Old Certaldo and to ask the receptionist for a restaurant. She suggested us a real good one.

Excellent Hotel with brilliant service - the glass of prosecco on arrival was a nice touch and very welcome. Building was still going on but wasnot noisy The location was not quite what we expected - we thought it would be further out from the town. What a pity there is no Restaurant in the Hotel
