Hotel Centrale - Cernobbio

Fine hotel in excellent location in beautiful town of Cernobbio. Only a few 100 meters walk to either boat docks for Lake Como or Villa d'Este. Restaurant in basement of hotel is fabulous, romantic and serves traditional northern Italian food. Will gladly stay there on my next trip to Como.

We were very pleasantly surprised, very happy that the restaurant served dinner late, very comfortable. We will go back in April.

A bit noisy but it was because of the fantasic restaurant!!!! Price was ok, location good, but busy street. Food was amazing!

My room overlooked the square, and while it was on the main street, closing the windows kept things quiet. Good breakfast, very helpfuil staff, easy parking! And one hour's free wi-fi in your room. I took a "Rapido" boat to Como, just 10 minutes away. And the lake was just one hotel beyond the Centrale. I was very happy and would return.

This was a very basic hotel near a superb location. The welcome we received was not at all friendly. It was difficult to get to sleep because of the noise of the drinkers/diners on the terrace outside our room. During the night part of the bathroom door surroundings fell off.

The hotel is dated and showing its age. Our room backed on to a stairwell which was utilised 24/7 by very loud, heavy footed persons. There were car noises during Saturday night and also a number of church bells early on the Sunday morning. There were no private safe facilities available. However the worst feature was the attitude of the staff. They appeared totally disinterested and were unhelpful. We would not stay at this hotel again.

Staff friendly; did not use restaurant so unable to comment on food. The hotel is not very well signed despite being on the main street. The sign seemed to advertise the restaurant but not the hotel. We drove past it twice and eventually had to ask someone. Cernobbio is on Lake Como and is a port of call for the lake ferries.

The hotel was very nice and very close to the center. The room was ok, but too expensive. € 120 for a simple looking twin bed room.

We've stayed at this hotel twice. Both times we've arrived in the middle of the night. The staff are always efficient and pleasant. Rooms are spacious and clean and in a prime location. Hotel is on the main road but you can not hear any noise. Its also a bonus that they have a car park. Would definitely recommend this hotel

Excellent hotel for a short stay on your way to Italy, close to the A4 motorway, private parking much appreciated.

2nd visit to Cernobbio but first at this Hotel. Great location near the lake and nearby lots of bars and restaurants. If restaurant closed (Mondays)eat at Tom & Jerry's pizzeria just along the road - not cheap but good value for location

Pleasant, quiet, airconditoned room at rear of building without balcony. Be sure to book your table at the restaurant - it gets very busy. Leave your car at the hotel and take the water bus into Como.

THis was a very nice hotel in a gorgeous town. The hotel restaurant was excellent with a great atmosphere. We would stay here againl.

The hotel is well situated close to the lake. We liked the hotel very much. The restaurant is very good indeed and the service was excellent. The only slight problem is the lack of a lift - some of the rooms are far distant up long flights of stairs.

Very good and friendly service, very good price/quality rate, relaxed athmosphere, good location.

It is a good "transit"hotel along the road to the Italian cities. Price is relatively high. The environment is very beautiful. Hotel was difficult to find because the indications were not clear when we passed the Swiss border.

We loved our stay at the Centrale at Cernobbio. The pizzas in the restuarant best we had in Italy! Very comfortable rooms with all amenities. The only down side was the noise of the restuarant and traffic when we were trying to sleep. We originally were in a front room but asked to be moved to the back. It was definitely quieter and better. Other downside is there is no lift...so we had to lug our luggage up the stairs! When leaving the staff helped us which we really appreciated. The surroundings and position near the lake is superb. We would definitely stay again as the price for that area and position is very reasonable .

The hotel was very expensive for the standards provided. it was very small room for 3 beds and there wasn't place to put our lungages.

Hotel très bien situé, Cernobbio étant bien située pour qui veut découvrir Come et la région. La ville en elle-même ne présente pas d'intérêt particulier, hormis le calme. L'hotel est agréable, belle terrasse et jolies salles de restaurant pour le diner ou le petit déjeuner. La chambre n'était pas désagréable, plutôt spacieuse pour deux, mais la propreté, quoi qu'acceptable, n'était pas irréprochable(quelques toiles d'araignés persistantes au plafond). Le parking est très petit et sert aussi bien aux occupants de l'hotel qu'aux clients du restaurant... Le soir, il faut donc parfois patienter pour pouvoir stationner, puis laisser les clés à la réception afin puisqu'il puissent gérer les départs et les arrivées de véhicules garés les uns devant les autres ! Mais celà est fait avec beaucoup de calme et de bonne humeur. Le rapport qualité/prix me parait cependant relativement élevé par rapport aux autres établissements que j'ai occupé dans la région (moins chers et plus confortables).

Great place to make a stop over, when you are traveling to Toscane.

Overall very good but reception by some very abrupt, nearly impolite and not offering any help. We also staid another night in a hotel about a 100m further down the road, Albergo Giardino, which offered similar and even cleaner accomodation, with very friendly and helpful staff for Euro35 less per night.

A very noisy place ....late in the evening friday and saturday evening : music and voices (restaurant on ground-floor) until 2 pm and more .... but a convenient place to stay (300m far from the lake)

It is a good hotel and we will book it again.But the nights could be not that quiet when there is a dinner party down in the cellar.

Both my wife and I were very pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The property, its location and price/value were simply outstanding. Great experience and a very spacious room.

We stayed here for 2 nights. All staff spoke perfect English. We ate the restaurant both nights and the food was excellent as was the breakfast. However, the beds were very hard and uncomfortable and we found Cernobbio & Lake Como to be a boring location for a young couple.

We'd certainly stay here again if we ever happen in this neck of the woods.

We had a lovely stay in Cernnobio. The hotel room stood up to expectation, only the restaurant staff could use a little courtesy.

My wife and I stayed four nights and we really enjoyed the Hotel Centrale. The staff is very friendly and professional. The restaurant is very good, we noticed that also local Italian people went out for dinner in the restaurant, and we kow why : the food and wine is excellent ! When we booked it via Venere we didn't realize it was so close to the Como lake and some relaxing terrasses. For sure we will return in future to Hotel Centrale and we recommend it highly.

My daughter and I took a train from Milan to Como and then a bus to Cernobbio. The bus stop was a block from the hotel. We loved Cernobbio and the Como area and plan to come back. Our first night at Centrale we had difficulty with noise but were moved to an amazing apartment for the second night. the staff were very gracious and accommodating. The breakfast was great the facility adorable. i would recomment it highly, but do ask if they are having an event in the basement if you want to go to sleep before midnight.

The foregoing assignation of points on the given scales has to be taken "with a grain of salt" in that my experience is very limited. However, apart from the bothersome noise around midnight from the adjacent room, our stay was quite pleasant and I consider the relationship between price and quality adequate.

We loved this hotel! The staff was excellent, knowledgeable, and friendly. The attached restaurant was so good we ate there twice! We will be back. We have stayed in Cernobbio many times, and think the Centrale provided the best value and fun.

The hotel was fine. We had to pay 20 euro extra for a baby bed and that's a lot (they did tell us in advance though).
