Hotel Asnigo - Cernobbio

Great vista of the lake from rooms and veranda. A bit difficult to locate compared to other places I have stayed in Cernobbio and the walk to and from the village is a bit of a workout coming back to the hotel - 15 minutes uphill. Service was very good and the bar enjoyable.

Small but clean and comfortable room. majestic view of lake como from the hotel terrace. the staff are amazingly helpful, friendly, and speak excellent English. Onsite parking is convenient and costs 10 euro per night. BUT: the hotel is very far removed from the city center and lakeside, and very hard to find. When I emailed the hotel asking for directions, they referred me to the Michelin website--attaching a map with directions to the reply would have been more helpful. To get to the city center by foot requires a 15 minute hike down a steep, private path. The hike back up is exhilarating if you are in shape, and could kill you if you are not. I enjoyed it, but if you are not into steep climbs taxi or driving are your only options to get to the lakeside. Overall, I enjoyed my one night stay and would return to the property in the future. Cernobbio the city is wonderful.

The hotel staff were wonderful,friendly and helpful in every way ;suggestions for other places to dine or places to visit in the area,depending on your preferences, were spot on. You must have a car to come to this lovely hilltop spot or pay 10 euros plus from Cernobbio town center below, each time you decide to go somewhere. The taxis also charge you for the trip up to the hotel plus the price of where you may be going.I felt that Cernobbio was a much nicer place to stay than Como since it feels more locale and isn't as gritty and unwieldy. It's nice to take the boat to Como, spend some time in Como to just visit the city for the day.You can boat to Bellagio and Menaggio but it's also wonderful to drive up to Menaggio and then boat to Bellagio. The vistas from Menaggio are glorious. The first room we were put into was totally claustrophobic but then the concierge changed our room, for one night, to a comfortable duplex with a nice bathroom and great bathtub/shower and a side view of Lake Como. The next two nights we had a room with a terrace facing Lake Como. The light was a photographer's dream. The bathroom shower was impossibly small, but the room was delightful. The hotel restaurant was quite a nice surprise; we were so happy to have dinner there after a long day of travel, and find that the food was so delicious. Breakfast is included with the price of the room which is a nice start for the day. Compared to other hotel breakfasts, it was adequate. We plan to return to this hotel in the future.

Nice hotel with a nice view overlooking Cernobbio and Lake Como. I was visiting Milano on business the week prior and stayed over to see Lake Como. Its an easy train ride from Milano Centrale to the town of Como then a 15 minute taxi ride to the hotel. My room was small but clean and neat. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is located up a hill above Cernobbio so be prepared for a 15-20 minute hike if you plan to travel by foot to/from town. The restaurant was fully booked both evenings I was there. The front desk recommended several alternative restaurants that are 5-10 minute walking distance away and made reservations for me. Breakfast buffet was limited in scope but good. Free wireless internet access worked well and is a nice plus for those wanting to stay connected. Overall, the hotel is a good value.

Staff were very accomodating & helpful in proving "where to go" advise. Even suggested a "back road" route to FoxTown (outlet in Switzerland) to avoid paying €45 in tolls!

We loved every inch of your hotel! The only thing I wish you would modify is the size of your shower - it was much too small.

Cernobbio is small town and hotel located substantial walk up a very steep hill. This is singular drawback if you do not like walking as taxis,although readilly available, add at least 10Euro each way to downtown Cernobbio.Staff pleasant, friendly and ready to assist with travel needs. Rooms always cleaned and refreshed. Breakfast very good selection. Outstanding dinner enjoyed at restaurant within 5 minutes walking distance from hotel! One of the best ones enjoyed during stay.

A nice hotel, with a bit of aristocratic 19th century feeling, and certainly very hospitable. The hotel could do with a bit of maintenance and upkeep, but some would say that the way it is adds to the charm. The view on the lake from the restaurant and terrace is wonderful. The restaurant is good, but breakfast is a bit lacklustre.

Beautiful location and views but hotel rather disappointing for 4 star rating and price of rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant disappointing in hotel but plenty of much better choices in nearby Como.
