the owner/manager is a very dour and unwelcoming man.I ignored his gruff personality up to the point where he stormed through a crowd of guests in the bar and rudely slammed a receipt in front of my wife and demanded "is this your signature". when my wife said yes he loudly said "so how many are in your room, three?", my wife's crime was signing a dinner receipt for our friends room as he had left the table at the time.IMBECILE

A unique location for all kinds of leisure and sports activities especially for mountainbiking and diving.

The hotel is ok but you have to take the car to get to the city center. The room are nice and the terrace with the bar is brilliant in the evening, in summer at least.

The pictures don't remotely do the place justice! The beach was amazing, yes, a bit hard on the feet and a hike back up, but the rock formations and color of the water couldn't be beat! Beautiful, great service, just fabulous!

Wow, this hotel was is so nice! Much much better than anticipated. Amazing views from the restaurant terrace. Great, bright and clean rooms and excellent reception staff. Would recommend a stay

the hotel ist located at a beautiful part of the coast, beach access via lots of stairs, enough chairs , also around the big pool. Concerning service at breakfast time:self-service with trays -but the tables never were cleaned up when the guests left their places before the next will sit down -sometimes very dirty!

Breakfast was fabulous, lots of choices, we ate in the City for the evening, and the service and quality were poor. The view was fabulous, we sat outside overlooking the sea. Our room overlooked the sea with a deck and that was great. We were able to sit outside and relax when we returned from dinner. They have a pool and the beach is nearby.

We stayed for only one night which was a pity. The hotel was in a beautiful location outside Cefalu, and the views were outstanding. The rates were very reasonable, (week before Easter),the included breakfast was generous, and the staff very helpful in making phone calls to help find our lost luggage. The town of Cefalu was a treat to start our 10 days in Sicily, but I was thankful to have a car for the back and forth from town....and we like to walk! Recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was actually closed and very dark. We were lucky some random German guy was there to give us a key to our room. We were the only guests. The room was nice and the location perfect.

The hotel is situated on a lovely promontory with extensive and beautiful views of the Mediterranean. The building and furnishings and finishes in the public areas are sumptuous. My single room was a bit spartan but quite acceptable. The staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous. All of my dining experiences were first class and, being a "foody," most memorable.

The instuctions on the comformation slip were quite bad, but they made it look easy to find, which was not the case. We did eventually find you after an hour of looking, enquiring at another hotel and also taking into consideration the appauling driving of Sicillians. But the hotel was wonderful and we wish we had arrived the day before, to spend another night there. It will be a while before we return to Sicily, due to the fact mentioned above, the driving of the people in your lovely country is really terrible and I hope you can pass our comments on to your Tourist industry. Thank you, Mrs Blair-Sellors

This hotel is in an absolutely stunning position. It has some excellent facilities but seems determined to shoot itself in the foot. The showers are a relic from the sixties. Not one day did I manage to get the temperature to go anywhere between freezing or boiling. Instead of shampoos etc they had soap dispensers that resembled a public toilet and didn't work. TAKE YOUR OWN SHAMPOO ETC! That aside, I would return anytime. The other hotel facilities were excellent. No unexpected charges other than pool/beach towels, fairly reasonable rate. Beach is rocks & concrete but very beautiful. Pool is large & pleasant. It's a full 20 minutes brisk walk from the beautiful old town but as safe as you'll ever be, contrary to someone else's comment. The location of this hotel is one of the most naturally stunning places you'll ever see by the Calura rock. However, be warned there is nothing else around, so it's hotel or town. Taxis were a fixed €10 so no real problem. We walked to town and back every night as it was pleasant and depleted the effects of the delicious food in the town. The town rivals Taormina for beauty!

We really enjoyed this property. Our room had a nice, small balcony with views of the sea. There are steps down to the beach area, too many for some, but we were fine with that. At first I thought I wouldn't like the fact that there was a concrete area along side the beach, however it was so easy! The concrete area has the swim ladder, built in poles to place umbrellas, a stable place for the chairs. The areas of sea floor where one can stand are rocky and the beach is sandy to rocky, so wear swim shoes. We drove the 5 minutes into Cefalu' as a few in our party were anti-hot and humidity, but we found good, easy parking at a reasonable rate. Cefalu' is wonderful, and this hotel is perfect for a "splurge" vacation. We at at the restaurant one night, and it was okay, not great. Make reservations, and ask for one of the tables near the railing for a better view - the lighting was nice though - I dislike restaurants with bright lights! What else? The pool was nice and clean, not particularly swanky, and the water was a bit warm to be refreshing, but that makes the breeze nice after one leaves the water. There is a baby pool, and showers near the pool and the beach - great to rinse off after salt or chlorine. Lastly, the staff was wonderful, everyone who helped us showed a great deal of concern and kindness.

The Kalura hotel is the perfect location for a relaxing holiday in Sicily. It has excellent facilities, very good restaurant, is reasonably priced and is close to the town of Cefalu, where there are many attractions for the visitor. We didn’t get a room at the back with a view over the sea and bay. Our room at the front, however, had a very pleasant balcony, which was a perfect place to take the evening sun, or relax in the evening. The room itself was clean and spacious, with air-conditioning and a decent bathroom. No mini-bar, unfortunately, meant no fridge, nor was there an ice machine, so cold drinks in the room were not an option. Hotel facilities were good. These included a swimming pool, tennis court, fitness centre, children’s play area as well as stairway access to a small beach and cove. The restauarant was first class – very good food, excellent service and reasonable prices. The town of Cefalu, unfortunately, is not within walking distance, so taxis are needed (1o euros each way). Worth a visit, though, for excellent nightlife and a wide variety of bars and restaurants.

We had a great time at the Kalura. The room was fantastic - with sea-view and the staff very helpfuk and efficient. It is about a 30 minute leisurely trek to the town or a 10 euro taxi ride. We walked most nights and enjoyed it, and the many restaurants in Cefalu were well worth the effort. Would definitely like yo come back to the Kalura again.

This was our priciest hotel on Sicily during our 10 day trip but did clearly provide a better quality of room and facilities. Our room was very spacious, of a high standard and had a great balcony with sea view along the rocky coastline. It is a 20 minute walk into Cefalu and the return walk at night felt dark and seedy at times. A drive or taxi would be recommended for those of a nervous disposition. Cefalu is a great little town and well worth including in a tour of Sicily. We only had one night and day there but felt we could have finished off our busy tour by spending 2 to 3 days relaxing here after all our sightseeing. It is a 1.5 to 2 hour drive back to Palermo airport so makes a good first or last stop.

Schade.

What a wonderful place to bring your family for holiday. The hotel and grounds are accommodating and well-maintained. While it is rather easy to hear your neighbors in the next rooms, it was well worth the inconvenience to sleep with the balcony doors open to let the sea breeze in. Reception could be warmer, but the service downstairs on the patio was excellent.

The hotel is very nice. Much nicer than the hotels on the beach in the town. The outside surroundings are breathtaking.I would stay at this hotel again. The hotel is pretty strict about the 3pm checkin so if you need to get into your room a little early try to make a special request ahead of time. We also had a hard time finding the hotel, but after asking a local merchant in town we found the hotel. One more tip: try to get to breakfast early. My husband i went on the late side and there wasnt much left!!

Rooms very basic. Bathroom was not clean but fresh towels delivered daily. Re-decoration of whole hotel is needed. The staff were helpful but the hotel seemed to cater for Germans more than the English re breakfast foods.

The location is a 20 minutes walk away from Cefalu that can be reached easily. It is at the sea, just some stairs to go down. The beach is rocky, but the hotel has free beds and umbrellas. The rocks in the water create a romantic athmosphere. The breakfast and the offered "light lunch" are both excellent. The room has no fridge or minibar but has lots of light, is spacious and quiet. The sea view is disturbed a little by the roof of the terrace.

The hotel provides good parking and is clean and spacious when you enter. The swimming pool was clean and the hotel provides a lifeguard and towels for this facility-which they charge for. Good views across the bay from outdoor seating area which leads down to a private beach. Hotel location is the only disadvantage being at least a 5 minute drive to local amenties in Cefalu.

The hotel is nice, the views are very nice. It is near Cefalú but you have to go by car. No problem to park because you have a good parking, and private beach. The breakfast is buffet and it is ok. The rooms at the last stage seems to be very hot (there was no curtains to protect from the sun) and the air conditing machines are a little noisy. We could change of stage and no problem, besides it was May and the temperature was nice not very hot.
