Thought it was lovely. Very quiet and great to be by the lake and watch the sun go down with a glass of wine

This is an interesting place. The lake is very nice, however the hotel is situated near a nuclear power plant - there is a bit of an odor. But the setting is very peaceful, there are dogs, roosters and a peacock on site.

This was our first time booking indepently and we were very impressed by the hotel. The staff were very welcoming even those that couldnt speak english, but we found them easy to understand. The room was lovely, it was cleaned every day, the bathroom was basic but everything worked fine. We had a lovely lakeside view from our window. We would happily stay there again in the future.

The only concern was the extremely small bathroom. Taking a shower left much water all over floor. The towels were lovely damask cloths...much like fine table linens; they were exceptional!

Very friendly family run hotel. Great views over the lake. Rooms clean, but not spaceous. Bathroom very, very small - I could touch all four walls from the middle of the bathroomm, in fact I could lean my shoulder against one wall and touch the wall opposite. Brilliant value for money. We used it as a base for exploring Tuscany and it was perfect. Hotel restaurant was only open for breakfast. The map on Venere.com seemed pretty basic so we went to the hotel's own website and downloaded their map. Their map was out by 8 miles. We had to ask directions in the end. The Venere.com map was more accurate - the hotel overlooks the lake.

This hotel is close to Florence and near a motorway so it is a good place to stay if you have an early flight. The hotel is next to a lake and the area is very pretty. If you have the nerve to drive over the mountains you get into Chiantishire. It very spectacular drive. We stayed in early season so the restaurant was closed but you can walk (10 mins)to a local place also by the lake where the food is excellent. We had a good two days

The surroundings is a dream and the service friendly and helpful. The rooms are simple but clean. Views of garden and water. There is a friendly lounge area where one can relax, chat, have a coffee etc. The owner and staff are extremely helpful. The restaurant is about 500m away, serves great tuscan food and have a waiter who speaks pretty good English. Only complain - the rooms have poor sound insulations - can hear the TV from the next room - although all guest appears to turn off their TV after 11:00pm (so we had no problems sleeping.

My vacation in Tuscan Region was fantastic and Hotel Del Lago was my starting point to Firenze, Siena, Lucca, Pisa and Arezzo. In Del Lago you can get everything you payed for so the relationship between price and quality is on expected level. Only objection I had was a hardship to find Hotel. My suggestion will be maybe to find some map with more details.

Should have known by the price that there would be a drawback. Rooms tiny and the bathroom was so small and old. Very poor but the staff were friendly. A good restaurant near by but the hotel would not be on our list to visit again!

Better instructions on how to find the place would be good. The venere system accepted my booking but then I received a phone call from the hotel saying that the system shoudn't have accepted the booking. The man spoke English and said he would organise some alternative accommodation for us. However, when we arrived at the hotel, there was no record of this and no-one spoke English. We had to share a room for the first night and then we had the requested 2 rooms on the second night. We were still charged the full amount. Fresh pastries for breakfast were good.

The hotel itself was great, though diificult to find with the map that is published on the website. The hotel staff was very kind and helpfull. The only disadvantage was the noise level of the room, as the rooms are only sperated by a small (fake) wall, we could overhear our neighbours conversations at night. But of course this says more about the neighbours than the hotel itself.

This hotel was even better situated than we thought. We had a bit of a problem in our room and the staff was fairly quick to rectify it. In both rooms that we used, small things needed repair such as curtains off the rod or the soap dish not attached. Overall we were very happy with this choice and would come back again.
