The hotel itself is very nice on the inside with an exotic Indian decor in the public areas. Each door to guest rooms has a different drawing on it. Ours was a Cheetah while the door of the room next to ours had some turbaned guy with a large mustache. I got the impression that this hotel is primarily aimed at Italians looking to take a beach vacation without having to leave Italy. The exotic decor gives them a sense of being in a foreign setting, but they can stay at home and still speak Italian to the staff. The first of three real problems with the hotel is that the beach is littered with garbage and felt kind of seedy and cheap. Italians might be used to this kind of beach, but Americans used to Hawaian or Carribean beaches would be disappointed. We were there in April; perhaps the beach would be in better shape in the peak summer months. The other problem was that the hotel plays non-stop English/American pop music the whole time both inside and outside. That grew tiresome, especially for two American who would rather have heard Italian music. This was another thing that made me feel the hotel is aimed at Italians. The third problem is that the restaurant had a phone (right next to our table) which kept ringing and being either answered or ignored by the waitors, neither of whom was particularly charming or friendly. Overall, the dining experience was far from relaxing. Of all the hotels we stayed at in our 2 weeks in Italy, this is the only one I would not return to. If they played Italian music and created a more relaxing environment, especially in the restaurant, this could be a great hotel in Catania.

1. About porridge: twice I asked concierge to prepare for breakfast other than rice porridge, and four times day by day it was rice. 2. Il Coriandolo. Restraunt itself is pretty good, but it has only one englishspeaking officiant with scornful attitude to customers. We dislike him and never have a meal again at Coriandolo. 3. Doors to the park was always closed despited of park working hours. My family with 2 years child were walking along hotel to the park about 500 meters. Park is a perfect one. Liked it. Lido Excelsior - best lido, very liked. Room service - very liked. Receptionists - kind and helpfull as any other member of stuff.

the hotel is close to the airport and many clients have to wake up early in the morning. Unfortunately the rooms are not soundproof, so you have to be prepared to early calls.

This is a nice hotel but in a the middle of a beach area with a road between the beach and hotels very close to the airport and the port. The overall area in which it sits lets it down a bit and it is a fairly typical 5* hotel - don't be fooled that the 'luxury' in the title makes it much different. The decor is unusual - a sort of Indian theme which is slightly incongruous. It is very expensive compared to the rest of Sicily and we were not convinced it is brilliant value for money - eg meal cost about 4x what we had paid in other good hotels and restaurants. We were sitting aprunf behind a pillar inthe restaurant and theykept forgetting about us! However, if you want convenience for the aiprort and near the beach it is fine and if you are a business person (we were on leisure but needed to log into our business) it is one of the few places on Sicily that has functioning wi-fi!
