I have been to Catania five time during these last 18 years. This was the best lodging experience, also taking into consideration the reasonable rates that are charged. The charming, helpful and efficient staff, the hotel's vicinity to the autobus and railway stations, the breakfast items, and the venue's internal environment all combine to make it a more complete experience. A repeat holiday is very probable.

The staff of this hotel are incredible! I broke my hip the second day of my stay and the people at the hotel went out of their way to help via communications with my family and bringing luggage to the hospital twice. I had stayed there one night - the room was spacious, clean, breakfast good, and the staff already helpful at that point. I will always remember this hotel and how thoughtful and helpful they were. I recommend this hotel highly. PS The hotel has a courtyard with beautiful orchids.

Bathroom really dirty (the same in the room where stayed our friends). Room quite noisy as nearby is karaoke bar. Our room was interconnected with another one by (locked)wooden door - so we could hear every word from our neighbors. I must admit that breakfast was excellent:-) But 4 1/2 Tripadvisor points is really mistake (for money paid)

The Hotel Villa Romeo is situated at a distance of 2 – 3 mins by foot from the Central Railway Station of Catania and the bus depots (there are 3 bus depots with departures every half an hour or so to all the main cities in Sicily) , you can take a city bus from the Airport and get off at the last stop which is the railway station and easily get to the Hotel. It is about a 20-30 minute ride airport - hotel. The rooms very spotless clean and spacious and we had access to a terrace full of colourful flowers. Towels were changed and rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast had a sufficient variety. There was a terrace full of plants and flowers ( rarity in hotels in city centres!) even next to the breakfast hall, good for relax. When the bar is closed there is an automatic machine with coins for water and snacks. Mr. Carlo at the reception was really kind and helped us a lot with all the necessary info and timings we needed. In all our stay in Sicily we never came across such kindness and hospitality.

This little hotel is situated right across the street from train and bus station and although the neighborhood isn't that pretty you are a 10 minute walk from the Plaza Duomo and other attractions. Highly recommend this delightful little hotel- value for money is terrific!

A nice clean hotel. However our room was very noisy at night and we would advise guests to ask for a room away from the main road. The directions to find it were excellent. We found it hard to find a good restaurant within walking distance. What a pity Catania is so spoiled by so much litter. Quite filthy. Our room was clean and spacious and the staff helpful and courteous.

The courtyard (which most of the rooms open into to) is wonderful. Breakfast limited, but OK. The location (by the train and bus station) is very convenient, but not charming. The hotel is a bit run down (e.g. neither the cooler nor the safety box in working condition). A hidden gem is a very good and inexpensive restaurant just around the corner, I Moschettieri on Via Marchese di Casalotto 11.

Very nice hotel in a fairly average part of Catania near the train and bus station. Only a short walk to town and the staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming. Hotel is beautifully decorated. There is a lift. The BEST choice if you need to be near the station and are only staying one or two nights.

The hotel is an easy walk from the railway station / bus terminal. And a reasonable walk from the main attractions in Catania. There are not many restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Our room faced onto an inner courtyard and was pleasantly quiet. Breakfast was excellent and the staff courteous and helpful

We had an excellent stay during our holiday with cosy rooms with view into the nice quiet indoor garden. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Sicily, many and various cakes. Parking was no problem. Thanks to the very friendly and helpfully staff! The recommended restaurant AND was pretty good and worth the money.

Villa Romeo is really an excellent hotel, staff is very kind and helpful. Even the breakfast was very good for Italian standards. The location of the hotel is very convenient if you need to be close to the railway station or the buses to the airport like we did, but is otherwise less inspiring. City center is in walking distance though.

On our way into Catania we were robbed. The hotel staff were excellent at putting us at ease and went out of their way to help - even going with us to the Police station to file the report! We had to make numerous long distance calls to cancel credit cards, find out about new passports, reschedule flights, etc. but at check out the staff refused to have us pay for the phone calls due to our troubles. Catania is not a safe place but if you have to go, we would recommend Villa Romeo.

This is a lovely hotel and very close to the station. The room was small but it was a single so this was understandable- but it was scrupulously clean and well appointed. The breakfast and the room in which it was served were definitely above average. The staff on the whole were exceptionally helpful and coped wonderfully in helping me sort out a few issues with organising trips to several local attractions. The 30 mins free email was also a nice bonus since I found emailling in most places I stayed in Sicily quite expensive. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We really enjoyed our stay at hotel Villa Romeo. the hotel has a real charm and is not far from the historic centre, very near the station and this is very useful if we don't have a car ; if we have a car the station helps to find our way to the hotel , we don't have to cross the busy streets. The employees are very helpful and smiling . We stayed 4 nights there with a real pleasure. The breakfast buffet is great . The breakfast room looks on a patio with exotic trees , wonderful! if We go back to Sicilia We'll choose this hotel without hesitation.

As a woman travelling alone, the hotel was a pleasant surprise in an area that first appeared somewhat bleak, especially in rainy January. The location turned out to be perfectly fine, with the train station and bus depot a few short minutes away, and the popular market within walking distance. My room was surprisingly elegant and charming, and would've been cheap at twice the price (compared to N. Italy). Breakfast was also very good. My first taste of Sicily was in the evening, at the train station where the food was flying out of those trailers parked just outside...Fabulous and inexpensive eats!

We stayed for a couple of days at the end of May, everything was perfect: the breakfast, room service, cleanliness. The personnel was very friendly and competent. The location is good - the bus station and railway station are just around the corner. The attractions of Catania are within 10 minutes walk, the immediate surroundings are just ordinary buildings, so the very first impression might be a little confusing. We were happy there and recommend the hotel to others.

Although the area was not nice at all, being very close to the train station was very convenient for me. The nicest hotel I've stayed in Italy for the 3 weeks I travelled all over, with very helpful staff esp. Veronique, even drove me after her work to find the port & the ferry office to Malta. Very well-decorated room with a wonderful double bed, opening to a big terrace with beautiful plants & flowers. Also big breakfast room with great selections. It's like an oasis in the desert. enjoyed it very much...thank you.

The room was OK but unfortunately the smell of stale smoke was very unpleasant.there were many cigarette butts on the terrace outside our room. However the rest of the hotel was fine. The terrace and the breakfast room were very charming. the breakfast itself was fantastic! very generous and good variety of choices. The staff were very helpful with assistance for places to eat nearby and for helping to find my daughter's teddy bear left behind in the room.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during the Festival of St Agatha. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfasts were good, room was smallish but fine. Hotel is very close to the train station, but a bit removed from the city centre, so not ideal if you want to be in the midst of the action.

We stayed for 1 night. I thought the location was good for travelling by bus or train, The area looked dodgy but was fine. The rooms were unusually decorated but interesting. They were clean. The most cleaned & genuinely "brand new" hotel with nice price. great location.Only 3 minutes from railway station.Surprisingly fine decorated .The best one throughout my month long Italian vacation . In my opinion, should rate 4 star instead of 3.Staff are nice & helpful.Econmical price as corespond to hotel quality. I like it very much.Clean, with elegant roman design.they have a courtyard for breakfast too.Breakfast is better than many other hotels like Napoli & Roma. What a suprise as this 's ,y 1st time to book thro' venere.com ,even better than many quoted from travel agents. The staff was very helpful and attentive. We were traveling as a group of four people including our 80+ year old parents. Our last night in Catania, the staff recommended the "primo piano" for dinner and it was the best food we had in all of Sicily! We were allowed to store our luggage at the hotel for several nights while we were traveling within Italy and the staff helped to make very early morning taxi arrangements for us to the airport. Overall, a very nice hotel and excellent service.

The single room was a little small but had good sized bathroom, walls were a little thin! The double room was very spacious and well equipped. This opened onto the internal garden / quad adjacent to the breakfast room. It was very quiet here isolated from the noisy street at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was fine - a lifesaver was the boiled eggs - overload of croissants / cake everywhere else. Would definitely stay again, Catania a very lively place. Managed to park directly outside of the hotel. The staff were great - very friendly and a nice touch with a small gift for us as we checked out!!
