The staff at Villa Romeo was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They took great pains to answer all questions and elaborate on the sites in the city and surrounding areas.

Villa Romeo is really an excellent hotel, staff is very kind and helpful. Even the breakfast was very good for Italian standards. The location of the hotel is very convenient if you need to be close to the railway station or the buses to the airport like we did, but is otherwise less inspiring. City center is in walking distance though.

On our way into Catania we were robbed. The hotel staff were excellent at putting us at ease and went out of their way to help - even going with us to the Police station to file the report! We had to make numerous long distance calls to cancel credit cards, find out about new passports, reschedule flights, etc. but at check out the staff refused to have us pay for the phone calls due to our troubles. Catania is not a safe place but if you have to go, we would recommend Villa Romeo.

Excellent hotel with very friendly, helpful staff. Easy access from station but more difficult to find by car due to awful signposting in Catania. Reception recommended A.n.D restaurant nearby - a real delight.

This is a lovely hotel and very close to the station. The room was small but it was a single so this was understandable- but it was scrupulously clean and well appointed. The breakfast and the room in which it was served were definitely above average. The staff on the whole were exceptionally helpful and coped wonderfully in helping me sort out a few issues with organising trips to several local attractions. The 30 mins free email was also a nice bonus since I found emailling in most places I stayed in Sicily quite expensive. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We really enjoyed our stay at hotel Villa Romeo. the hotel has a real charm and is not far from the historic centre, very near the station and this is very useful if we don't have a car ; if we have a car the station helps to find our way to the hotel , we don't have to cross the busy streets. The employees are very helpful and smiling . We stayed 4 nights there with a real pleasure. The breakfast buffet is great . The breakfast room looks on a patio with exotic trees , wonderful! if We go back to Sicilia We'll choose this hotel without hesitation.

It was the first time I stayed at Hotel Villa Romeo and I am very satisfied by the quality of the hotel and the staff. The personnel at the reception is very competent and very kind. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and I'll probably choose it for a next stay in Catania.

Convenient location for both city center and airport. Good price-quality ratio. Luckily we had sat nav to find the hotel. Would be good to provide clear directions to get there (in the neighborhood of the hotel there are good signs on the streets though).

As a woman travelling alone, the hotel was a pleasant surprise in an area that first appeared somewhat bleak, especially in rainy January. The location turned out to be perfectly fine, with the train station and bus depot a few short minutes away, and the popular market within walking distance. My room was surprisingly elegant and charming, and would've been cheap at twice the price (compared to N. Italy). Breakfast was also very good. My first taste of Sicily was in the evening, at the train station where the food was flying out of those trailers parked just outside...Fabulous and inexpensive eats!

We stayed for a couple of days at the end of May, everything was perfect: the breakfast, room service, cleanliness. The personnel was very friendly and competent. The location is good - the bus station and railway station are just around the corner. The attractions of Catania are within 10 minutes walk, the immediate surroundings are just ordinary buildings, so the very first impression might be a little confusing. We were happy there and recommend the hotel to others.

Although the area was not nice at all, being very close to the train station was very convenient for me. The nicest hotel I've stayed in Italy for the 3 weeks I travelled all over, with very helpful staff esp. Veronique, even drove me after her work to find the port & the ferry office to Malta. Very well-decorated room with a wonderful double bed, opening to a big terrace with beautiful plants & flowers. Also big breakfast room with great selections. It's like an oasis in the desert. enjoyed it very much...thank you.

Villa Romeo marked an excellent ending to a superb holiday in Sicily. The hotel is close to the interesting old centre in Catania. The staff was exceptional in their help, arranging reservations to our favourite restaurant for us. A great home base for English speakers who don't speak fluent Sicilian.

The room was OK but unfortunately the smell of stale smoke was very unpleasant.there were many cigarette butts on the terrace outside our room. However the rest of the hotel was fine. The terrace and the breakfast room were very charming. the breakfast itself was fantastic! very generous and good variety of choices. The staff were very helpful with assistance for places to eat nearby and for helping to find my daughter's teddy bear left behind in the room.

This was my second stay at Hotel Romeo and would never consider staying elsewhere in Catania. Location is great, rooms spotless and the staff are wonderful. Thank you again Hptel Villa Romeo!

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during the Festival of St Agatha. Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfasts were good, room was smallish but fine. Hotel is very close to the train station, but a bit removed from the city centre, so not ideal if you want to be in the midst of the action.

Hotel Villa Romeo is a great place to stay in Catania. Conveniently located near the bus and train station in a safe area and only 5 minutes to the main plaza. The staff are extemely helpful and friendly, and the breakfast is ample and tasty. There's also working Internet...a rare find in Sicily! Each time I'm in Catania, I return to Villa Romeo!

Very efficient reception staff - had done the best and even more to help us to contact numerous times the airport since 1 luggage didn't arrive till 48 hours after our arrival to Catania. Very good recommendations for nearby excellent restaurants with great menu and normal prices. We would cetainly recommend this hotel to our friends and return there at our next visit to Sicily.

We stayed for 1 night. I thought the location was good for travelling by bus or train, The area looked dodgy but was fine. The rooms were unusually decorated but interesting. They were clean. Bed was the usuAal slightly hard Italian style bed. The service was fine and the cleaners were friendly. We were given a map and some advice about restaurants. The breakfast room was a delight. The hotel was quiet. Overall we were happy with the service and room for the price

Catania is messy by nature. Make sure at least your room is quiet and relaxing. Hotel Villa Romeo is good at that.

Un excellent accueil "en français", pas si courant en Sicile. Très pratique pour prendre le bus pour aller à Taormine ou Syracuse et vraiment pas loin à pied du centre animé. La terrasse est très agréable pour le petit déjeuner.

The most cleaned & genuinely "brand new" hotel with nice price. great location.Only 3 minutes from railway station.Surprisingly fine decorated .The best one throughout my month long Italian vacation . In my opinion, should rate 4 star instead of 3.Staff are nice & helpful.Econmical price as corespond to hotel quality. I like it very much.Clean, with elegant roman design.they have a courtyard for breakfast too.Breakfast is better than many other hotels like Napoli & Roma. What a suprise as this 's ,y 1st time to book thro' venere.com ,even better than many quoted from travel agents. Highly recommended!

The staff was very helpful and attentive. We were traveling as a group of four people including our 80+ year old parents. Our last night in Catania, the staff recommended the "primo piano" for dinner and it was the best food we had in all of Sicily! We were allowed to store our luggage at the hotel for several nights while we were traveling within Italy and the staff helped to make very early morning taxi arrangements for us to the airport. Overall, a very nice hotel and excellent service.

The single room was a little small but had good sized bathroom, walls were a little thin! The double room was very spacious and well equipped. This opened onto the internal garden / quad adjacent to the breakfast room. It was very quiet here isolated from the noisy street at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was fine - a lifesaver was the boiled eggs - overload of croissants / cake everywhere else. Would definitely stay again, Catania a very lively place. Managed to park directly outside of the hotel. The staff were great - very friendly and a nice touch with a small gift for us as we checked out!!

Don't be dismayed when you drive into the street(it isn't good)but the Hotel Villa Romeo makes up for it with great staff and bright and clean interior, we picked on location to the ports as we were travelling by ferry, (it is in walking distance). We even found a great eating place up one of the small alleyways close by.

The Hotel Villa Romeo was an excellent hotel very near the station & bus terminal. It was an easy walk to to the centre of Catania. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful. We had two single rooms which were quite small but very charming and comfortable. Highly recommended. Catania is a lovely city.

A fantastic stay. Lovely room. Great Hotel in convenient and easy to find situation. The staff were really helpful, friendly, and we totally enjoyed our stay. Great room and shower, very comfortable bed. The street it's on isn't inspiring but no matter, this is an excellent hotel, one of the best we've stayed in in Sicily. And we will definately stay there again - it was great!

this hotel, which is actually a palace, is a great place. its beautiful interiors, unusually sumptuous for a three star hotel, will get you off of your feet. the service is excellent. a great value for your money. the only drawback is the fact that villa romeo is located in a pretty neglected neighbourhood, but it shouldn´t discourage you from staying there.

It was a nice stay. I asked about what to see here and was told what to see and that information was good. If I go back to Catania, I will stay there again. And having FoxNews in English (I'm an American) was great.
