CHECK AVAILABILITY
The hotel Rigel has a liberty style, maintaining alive its old charming belonging to the liberty period. It is situated near the central station, in the heart of the historic center of Catania. This historic building has been completely renovated in a simple, elegant way to provide all the necessary comforts. Renovation works started in September 2006 and ended in June 2008.

It is a small hotel, so the owners are always in contact with their guests and in every moment of the day they are there to help them in order to satisfy their needs. They welcome the guests as they were members of their family, they will feel like in their own house.

The hotel is sensitive to environmental and energetic problems. Hotel Rigel has a system of photo voltaic panels in order to produce electricity and a system of solar panels in order to produce hot water.

The building is situated in an enviable position: it is easily reachable from the airport by bus, it is close to the bus station and to the train station. It is also very close to the Ciminiere, a fair center.

Property amenities include a wide terrace full of typical, Sicilian plants, a relaxing place where you can read, meet and chat, and free wireless Internet access.

The staff doesn't English well. The WIFI signal on the 2nd floor are very poor. The location is good to the bus station but in a poor area. The hotel is newly remodeled with nice conditions.

Staff was very friendly, but could not find their own hotel on their own free city map - she placed the "H" somewhere else completely. A basic knowledge of English was absent, as was such knowledge of other tourist languages like French and German. Staff did not have information about the bus to the airport, although the official bus #457 departs from the train station that is almost opposite the hotel. But I also want to mention that the receptionist was very helpful in providing internet acces behind her own reception desk when the normal internet acces did not work. This way we could check in for our flight the next day, and we thank her for being so cooperative!!

Beautiful, nicely restored Hotel. Very central position, near the Station. The area is not great and it can be noisy in the Week-end, but there are other davntages and the staff is always kind and professional.

A very nice 3 stars hotel just off Catania's Central Station. Just about 20 mins from the airport with the shuttle bus (1€). Employees very helpful. Perfect for those who wish to spend the night for an early flight, visit the city or start a tour of Sicily. Surroundings are a bit low but nothing to be afraid of and I'm a young woman travelling on my own. On the minus side, a kind of ventilation or generator starts up every hour or so, last time at 22:00PM. It lasts for about 30 mins but all in all a great hotel, one of the best I stayed in in Sicily.

I was on business staying for 2 nights and booked a single room. The hotel was smallish but very well decorated and friendly. Also, the location was good: plenty of shops and places to eat nearby. However, only some of the staff speak anything other than Italian. My room was clean and recently renovated and everything worked well. My only gripe was that the external air conditioning units were close to my window and the soundproofing on the window was terrible so I had to use earplugs. I would use this hotel again.

The Hotel Regal was right next to the bus stop for the airport. Although the area of the hotel wasn't particularly attarcative, it was a fairly short walk to the piazzas, university district and main shops. Lots of good local restaurants nearby. The staff were all charming and extremely helpful, even coming accorss the road to check on the bus timetable for us. There was no bottled water in the rooms, or tea and coffee available at the hotel, although there is a cafe downstairs. The rooms were as clean as a whistle, with good showers and comfortable beds. We were made very welcome and would definitely stay there again.

Very nice place. The hotel has been renovated to a good standard. Free wifi (just ask for the code). Had a little language problem as the front desk didn't speak a great deal of english, but they were able to ring someone when there were specific issues that we couldn't communicate on. Nevertheless, the front desk was very helpful and accomodating. The hotel has a couple of nice cafes right near's it's entrance. Apart from these, the surrounds are a little drab, but that's Catania. We didn't feel unsafe. Opposite the hotel is the long distance buses, and a couple of minutes walk is the local buses (including the airport bus) and the train station. It's probably about 20mins walk to the centre of Catania, but the journey would not be recommended late at night. You can take a bus to avoid this however. On the whole it was a convenient location for transport, but not so much for the centre of town (but there is ample transport). Very nice and reasonably spacious rooms, and helpful staff. Would stay here again.

I was delighted with this hotel as it is new and very centrally located. The staff were extremely helpful with all my requests including help with tours and laundry. The quality of the room was excellent and noise from the main road was minimal even though I was in a front room on the second floor. Hard to find any faults with this hotel,
