My wife and I stayed for two nights starting a round trip of Sicilia. Very nice room right across from the Duomo. Very simple breakfast at a bar on the the square in front of the Duomo.

If you like stairs, this place is for you. If you like noise, this place is for you. If you like staff that grunts rather than talks or smiles, this place is for you. If you like off site breakfast, this place is for you. If you like hot rooms, this place is for you. If you like a good location, well, it does have that. It's an old hotel in a dirty city, right on the main square. It doesn't offer a single convenience, but it's not too expensive and it is in the best part of an ugly place. Enjoy.

Excellent hotel, lovely people - unfortunately extremely noisy in rooms overlooking the Piazza - noise continued until 3am on a Saturday night.

An excellent hotel, very close to the centre of the city and about 20 minutes (fairly brisk)walk from the station. I was lucky enough to have a really lovely room overlooking the main square in front of the cathedral - the downside of this was that it was a bit noisy, but my experience of travelling in Italy is that you cannot have the view and be in the middle of the city without also having the noise - having said which, the noise was not excessive anyway. The hotel is in a great position on the square in front of the cathedral, close to many of the city's sights and to the Pescheria (market) which is well worth seeing... The only downsides of the hotel I could see were that there is no lift (which may be a problem for older or less mobile people) and the breakfast in the bar just along the square (fine if you are used to this, but may be a problem for people travelling with young children in particular). These reservations apart, I would definitely recommend both the hotel and the city and would definitely stay there again myself.

You find Centrale Europa in the centre of Catania. Coming from the airport it was a little bit hard to find a parking but we succeeded. Anyway the hotel is a great place to start discovering the city. For breakfast we were provided with vouchers for the Bar on the spot, and did like everybody does: espresso & brioche. Great.

The room is small but very nice. The central position is very confortable to visit the city centre but quite noisy during the evening. I was satisfied

Great location right next to the main Piazza and shopping area, however that also make it very noisy until very late at night and then again very early in the morning

Excellent value - we had a room with a wonderful view of the Cathedral, Piazza, and Elephant Monument. Comfortable twin beds. It was a bit noisy at night, but it is, after all, the center of town, and a very convenient location for sight seeing. Polite, friendly staff. Great breakfast at the the cafe next door. The one drawback was the lack of an elevator. I booked a room for one night the following week directly with the hotel. It was more expensive to book that way. Definitely recommend this hotel and Venere.com.

Booked a single room - was given, at same price, very spacious double room with balcony overlooking street. Excellent location - better than appeared on map - stone's throw from Piazza Duomo and excellent restaurants and bars.
