Hotel La Torre - Castiglione del Lago

This was a fantastic family run hotel in a really lovely place - a good spot to base yourself if you want to discover Umbria. The hosts will pick you up from the Castiglione del Largo train station if you give them a call. They showed us a lovely hotel room, which was one of the best 3 star hotel rooms we saw in Italy - but they also offered us a little apartment over the road, with a courtyard and garden. We stayed there and enjoyed being able to cook and have peace, space and privacy. We still had breakfast over at the hotel though, and it was a selection of cereals, yoghurt, pastries, rolls, spreads and any kind of coffee, or tea or hot chocolate - much more than we could eat. The people were lovely and so helpful - we'd definitely go back.

An excellent accomodation located just in the center of the old town. Service and hospitality were remarkable.

Excellent hotel, well located. great welcoming, making very nice our trip to Castiglione del Lago and Lake Trasimeno. surely we would be in that hotel on our next trip to explore the region.

Very friendly hosts. Willing to give you information about sights, transportation, restaurants etc. Cleaning excellent. My room faced Via V. Emanuele, the main pedestrian street, with lots of people/tourists from early morning til late night. Noise was never a problem, and if you close the windows the room is almost soundproof. The aircondition in my room worked perfectly, which is very nice in a temperature of 37 degrees C. Il Torre is located in the very centre of Castiglione del Lago, close to Il Castello, la Fortezza, shops, restaurants, public transportation and the ferry (traghetto) to the island Isola Maggiore. I would recommend Il Torre to anyone.

Excellent small hotel. Very near one of the exits where you can leave your car for free. Great place, excellent breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely use this hotel again.

Un albergo da consigliare, sia per la struttura che per tutto quello che circonda la struttura (castiglione del lago è veramente bella), personale disponibilissimo a dare varie "dritte", che dire... ci vediamo il prossimo anno!

We really enjoyed our stay here. One night, when we asked about the internet, our host immediately got up from what she was doing and got us connected right away. Lovely conversation and helpful tips about surrounding towns. The breakfast was nice- assortment of pastry and wonderful cappucino.

Very expensive for a very basic room, the parking is far from the hotel (Due hotel location), genneraly nice hotel not more than that.

Good room, large bathroom, mini bar fridge, air-con free, no lift. Difficult to access by car, we had to park a distance away and walk into the walled city to find hotel. Once there, we were shown the parking spaces [outside the walls] and it was OK. Typical Italian breakfast. Restaurant Monna Lisa in the square good value and offered regional food.

We had a fantastic stay at Albergo La Torre. Roberto and everyone else couldn't have been more helpful. CAstiglione is a lovely place to stay, ideal for exploring this corner of Umbria and Tuscany.

Wonderful family run hotel, centrally located in the center of the historic old town. The family members could not do enough for us. I highly recommend La Torre if you are looking for a quaint, friendly old-world hotel. They even picked us up and took us back to the train station - Wonderful value for the price!!!

Owners very helpful and friendly My room overlooked the main street and could be a bit noisy (no problem if you shut the windows though) but the plus side is that the hotel is right in the middle of the town Try the Monna Lisa restaurant
