This was a return visit and I think the service had slipped a bit, not quite as cozy and friendly as the first time. Had a problem getting plastic cups replaced and no towels one day. It still is a lovely place.

A lovely property and professionally run. Very close to Siena. My only complaint was that there is essentially nothing to do on the property after 6 pm when the pool closes. It remains light (and hot) in the area until well after 9 pm, so this seems early to close. This may actually be an advantage for those who wish simply to sit back and enjoy the majestic views. The clientele were mostly middle age to older and I would not visit this property with young children, as I think you would stand out in an unwelcome way.

Never having booked through Venere before, I was a little anxious to see what this place was like. What a relief to find that the place is beautiful. The pictures really don't do it justice. The setting is gorgeous - fantastic views over the Chianti countryside from the pool. It's very quiet - hardly any cars going past at all. The room we had was lovely as well - old wood beams and very "traditional" furniture. Not modern but it was perfect for the location of the place. I'm normally quite a critical person and don't shower praise on many things - but I would definitely go back here and recommend to anyone. You might consider a drawback to be the following (I didn't, but you might): It's very quiet there - no bars/restaurants etc - we had to drive to the nearby villages. Most people there seemed to eat in the hotel restaurant though, and they all seemed very pleased with the food on offer. There is also a small bar. Still - ideal for a romantic get-away.

The pictoresque surroundings are inviting for a short stroll in the close vicinity of the estate which is beautifully located in the Tuskan countryside. It was a delight to linger at the pool with this magnificent view. Unfortunately, we were unable to enjoy it when we were in our room. I had the impression that we stayed in the only room without having a view into the marvellous Tuskan landscape (instead we only saw the rooftop of the adjacent room). Moreover, it was located opposite the bar, so it was quite noisy during the evening. I would have liked to be informed about this fact during the booking process itself before actually making the reservation. Apart from this flaw, we had a splendid stay in the hotel enjoying the ample breakfast buffet, the kindness of the personnel, the whole estate and the superb quality of the vines being offered there. As we decided not to have dinner in the hotel we travelled to the nearby villages (e.g. Castellina, 10 Min. by car) to relish our meals by immersing into the vibrant Italian evening life.

Absolutely charming property and the location was wonderful. Deep in the heart of vineyards and olive groves, out of towns or city...super location in the Tuscan countryside. The room was large with nice touches of antiques and a large window overlooking a flower covered lawn. The only criticism was the dining room. If you choose not to eat dinner there, you must drive to nearby Rada (30 minutes or so or somewhere else). We chose to have dinner there but for the price, the food was not that great and ours was not hot when it arrived. Breakfast was very nice and generous and was included in the price of the room. Hotel Belvedere was overall very charming and we loved our stay.

Stayed for 3 days; used San Leonino as a base for visiting Siena and Chianti wineries. Hotel in a fantastic, serene location - perfect for sundowners by the pool overlooking Chianti vineyards.

We had a great time in an enchanting hotel. The meals were excellent, the atmosphere superior, and what else is there to say about Chianti that hasn't been said before. We'd definitely recommend this property, and look forward to returning.

The Hotel was in a fantastic setting with open views across the vinyards and olive groves. The pool area was clean and inviting. Although you need to drive, it is within easy reach of Pisa, Sienna and Florence as well as the beach - if you can tear yourself away! Fabulous helpfull staff make this hotel one of the most relaxing holidays we have had. We'll be back!

This had to be the most idyllic holiday location we have ever had. The hotel was beautiful, the room spotlessly cleaned every day, the breakfast was wonderful, and the option for dinner was taken several times, and a vegetarian option given when requested. The staff were friendly, the pool clean with views that make you weep with their beauty, and the gardens serene and well kept. Without doubt we struck gold when we found the Belvedere and can't wait to return.

Generally spoken a good hotel. The dinner is excellent and atmosphere is quiet and peacefull. Maybe the prices for the rooms are a little bit high, especially since they don't have A/C.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful and was fluent in English. The property looked just like the online pictures and the location was peaceful and picturesque.
