The Vesuvian Institute is a multi-functional hotel complex, which besides the usual hotel facilities associated with them also services for the research and teaching, such as study rooms, library, auditorium, theater and Internet room.
Featuring 90 rooms with 200 beds, the hotel is directly stretched the Bay of Naples. Its rooms are all with a breathtaking sea view. How to reach Vesuvian Institute Hotel

By car
Leave Naples and get on autostrada A2 Milano-Napoli, then proceed on A3 for Napoli-Salerno until the exit for Castellammare di Stabia-Sorrento, pay toll, you will run into a fork: Sorrento or Castellammare, DO NOT TAKE first Castellammare exit but keep following in direction of Sorrento, continue for a few miles until you see exit Gragnano-Castellammare, at first intersection make left onto hill. Pass intersection (no light), going through the town of Castellammare and continue straight on elevated street - Via Europa. Continue on Via Europa which curves to the right over what seems like a gorge at the next intersection, DO NOT GO STRAIGHT- to archaeological site. After a few meters you will pass underneath Terme di Stabia spa and soon arrive in a small intersection with church and pharmacy on your left- make a right on cobblestoned street- Via Salario. This is the Institute's street, continue following signs for the Vesuvian Institute parking, or please call front desk 081-871-7114 for help.

By train
From anywhere in Italy, take train to Napoli-Garilbaldi. When you arrive in Naples, do not exit train station but continue to the lower platform, following the signs for the local train, the Cirumvesuviana. Buy a ticket for Castellammare di Stabia and get on line Napoli-Sorrento. Get off at Castellammare di Stabia Ville Romane, duration 50 minutes. mette gli orari per la Circmvesuviana.

By airplane
International airport of Naples Capodichino, as soon as you exit airport, find autobus Curreri Napoli- Sorrento in the parking lot and get off at Castellammare di Stabia Terme stop mette gli orari del Curreri pullman Capodichino-Sorrento

By public transportation
The CITY center is easily reached on foot or by public bus. Furthermore the Circumvesuviana station can be easily reached on foot, connecting Stabia to Naples in 50 minutes and Sorrento in 20 minutes while the cable car (la funivia) takes you up Monte Faito (altitude 1,100 meters) where you can enjoy beautiful long hikes and comfortable strolls through chestnut tree woods.

The local rail network departs from the Naples-Piazza Garibaldi station and extends south and east reaching the provinces of Salerno and Avellino and serving the area of Nola, Sorrento peninsula and Pompeii.

The cable car: Castellammare di Stabia - Monte Faito is open from March 10th 2010 through October 31st 2010.
