Interesting location and unique accomodations. Rustic is more famous as a restaurant than a B&B, that being said I am glad I stayed there. I ventured out in to the countryside from this location and found it quite easy to navigate from location to location. Will stay there again when I return to Sicily. I loved the food and the owners were absolute gems.

The price was low, so wasn't expecting much. Room reasonable, only guests there and the restaurant was closed so quite peaceful overall except for nearby motorway (actually overhead). Probably not so when restaurant is open considering the rooms open onto the courtyard where I assume they have tables during the nice season

As always, you get what you pay for. A cheap room for an over-night stop. Room VERY noisy facing busy courtyard restaurant. No real window and badly functioning air condition. Situated more or less under a highway bridge.

This establishment is as much a restaurant as a hotel. The roomoom was basic and relatively small but everything that one needs is there and the bathroom is spacious. The rooms open directly onto a sheltered courtyard and offer excellent value for money. What struck us particularly was how friendly the management were and how good the food was (also good value). We found our way directly there in the dark from the airport by taking the autostrada and turning off at the Alcama Ovest exist and heading West on SS113. After about 5 kilometres Rustica can be seen on the Right. it is easy to park and there are no narrow village one way streets to negotiate.

This was the second time we have stayed at the "Rustic" and it will not be the last, excellent value and the food and wine among the best we have tasted (we ate there every night during our five night stay despite the several restaurants availlable in Castellemarre itself, the atmosphere to our liking with the pizza restaurant guest eating in the open courtyard. We were visiting Sicilly for a family wedding, spending a few days by the sea before the big day. We did find it easier (knowing it's location this time) to come off the A29 at the Alcamo ovest exit, head towards Alcomo as far as the SS113 before turning towards Segeste at the first "T" junction, the Rustic can clearly be seen from thw 113.

We really enjoyed our staying at "Rustic" (4 days). The owners are a family and they are really friendly and welcoming. They communicated a lot with us although we did not speak the same language. The hotel is really lovely, an old farm which has been "transformed" as a hotel. We also strongly recommend the restaurant of the "Rustic", the food is really good and it is really cheap. The pizzas are excellent and very big! If we go back to Castellamare, we will go back to the Rustic without hesitation!

Nice restaurant and place. Very nice people. The Hostel should however precise the map to reach it on the website (and, why not, furnish the GPS localization, which have been usefull to us... once first arrived ;-). Ideal place to reach Selinunte and the southern roads... but also the werstern places such as Ericce.

The location is exactly in the middle of nowhere, is not that complicated to arrive is just that you HAVE to follow the signs to SEGESTA and ask people for the RUSTIC PIZZERIA they all know where the pizzeria is, so you just have to follow their directions and not get afraid about the small routes that seems to go to nowhere, actually when you think you are already lost, is then, when your on your way!... anyway... the Hotel was clean, the owner is nice but the employees to rude compare with all other hotels in sicily or the world. For price is was fair, but if you DONT have a car i DO NOT recommend this hotel, because is NOT in the city center and there is NOTHING around the hotel, except for a soccer camp.

It's name is appropiate. The charm of old stones and a good quality/price ratio. The only fly in the ointment : the vicinity of the highway bridge. Fortunately, the traffic is rather light. The central yard with the rooms distributed around give it the appearance of a small monastery.

Thr hotel is easy to find....you just have to know how. Leave the highway for Castelamare and follow the route towards the city. In the first right turn of the road you have to leave to the left for Segesta [brown sign]. Before you reach the highway [above your head] turn left to cross the bridge. After a half a mile you reach the hotel.

This is a very good family run hotel. The rooms were good and the food really excellent. The owner was friendly and we enjoyed our stay. However - the stay was spoilt by money being stolen from our rooms on the last morning whilst we were at breakfast, and we were unable to do anything due to having to catch a flight. I do not think this was anything to do with either the owner or family. Unfortunately, although the theft was reported to the hotel by email, nothing has happened. So by all means stay here - you will enjoy your stay. But keep your valuables with you.

We enjoyed our stay at Rustic, save a few minor snags: 1. It was hard to find the first time - they have a very small sign and went cruising by it. The proprietor expressed that this always happens, he's not allowed to hang a larger sign. Also, we thought the place was in the town of Castellamare del Golfo: it is in fact outside of town - 4 km along SS113 out in the vineyard-laden hills. Beautiful out there, but not on the coast. 2. From time to time the power went off; this happened twice, very briefly, and the staff was on it right away. Due to language barrier, we weren't sure what happened - it might have been due to road work that we lost power. 3. The hot water seemed to run out occassionally - but please let me stress that you really don't want a hot shower, ever - it was so hot there in July. And I am someone who likes very very hot showers. It didn't bother me at all. Other than these things, the rooms were very clean, very soundproof, and the service was excellent. The proprietor spoke enough english to get us by. The restaurant of the hotel is very popular with the locals, which makes it a lively and fun place. It is well-located, but you must have a car. The drive out there is beautiful, and nearby castellamare del golfo is a lively, beautiful town; within 1.5 hours are many things to see, including trapani, erice, zingaro, capo san vito, palermo, and segesta. Finally, we paid 24euros/night/person, and on an american budget, it was hard to do better than that for what we got: great value.

We experienced great food, Rustic wine, wonderful guidance by owners and staff to the surrounding sites. The closeness of the Autostrada was not a noise problem, because in the night it died right down. The 12 rooms are part of a 550 seat restaurant which is slow all week, except on Saturday night when all families and couples in Italy seem to go out to eat. Great experience if you love to see life first hand. If you are an introvert avoid Saturdays. I can only recommend the place to any one. the price is right. Just make sure you ask for email directions to find the place, since it is out in the country 5 km from town Castellamare. I's stay there anytime again. Armin Weber Toronto Canada

The structure is really new and really nice: an old farmhouse renovate. The location is very good (but you should have a car!): near to the archaeological site of Segesta, near to Scopello, the white beach of San Vito lo Capo and the Zingaro natural reserve. Rooms are quite large and clean but without windows (in summer, when you have to dry up towels and bathing costumes, it could be a problem!); they are air conditioned but only after midnight and are all located around a courtyard where people have dinner (the hotel is also a restaurant) until midnight and after (it could be really noisy)!

We arrived at 21.30, and we booked a double room. They actually only had a twin room and they obviously gave the double to someone else. But they've been saying:" sorry, for us, double means 2 beds, next time ask for matrimoniale, blablabla...", and we were not speaking italian, which makes it even more difficult. They lowered a bit the price of the room for this, without a problem. Anyway, we were there just for one night coming fromn the airport by car, that is quite convenient, we've been eating EXCELLENT PIZZAS there, and the staff was pretty nice.

We found Rustic a very charming little hotel. The restaurang had very warm athmosphere, when we arrived in the evening and found that all were doing a very genuine Italian thing, whaching football and eat pizza. Our room was a little bit cold, however, but maybe we did not understand the air-conditioning instructions very well. One problematic thing was also to find the way to the hotel in the dark when we came from the airport. A better description of the road is needed. Overall we were satisfied with our choice of Rustic.

This is an excellent place to stay if exploring the western end of Sicily. The hotel is in fact a pizzaria with rooms attached and the whole has been created from old farm buildings. The restaurant is busy in the evenings (even in November when we stayed) and the food is excellent. Breakfast was particularly good compared to most Italian breakfasts offered in hotels. The map on the website is poor. The hotel is best found by travelling along the SS113 and taking the turning to Castellammare del Golfo. The hotel is approximately 200 m on the left.

If you have a car, this is a well-positioned, excellent value hotel, close to autostrada, and a good base for excursions to the northwestern parts of Sicily and is very close to Segesta. The map on the website is difficult to read but the staff speak a little English and, by email, provided clear and simple directions from Palermo airport (about 30-45 min by car). Hotel Rustic is primarily a pizza restaurant - with pizzas at least as good as we have tasted anywhere! Just as well since it is quite isolated. Amazingly it comes alive at about 8pm every night as dining customers swarm in. It doesn't close until about 1am so it was particulary convenient for our arrival on a late flight into Palermo and wanting to avoid the city. Conversely, the disadvantages are that the rooms (off the restaurant courtyard) are noisy until about 1am. Additionally, the air conditioning is not available from 8pm until 1am (presumably due to power needs while restaurant is open) making our windowless room stuffy and hot if the door and vent is closed for privacy and to reduce noise. But if you are out and about in the evening and want to return to the hotel for a late dinner then these disadvantages should be less important. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay, the hospitality of the staff, and would stay again.

Nice hotel, good food, unfortunatly is also a restaurant so the people stay just outside the rooms up to midnight. Few km from Segesta, and from Castellammare. The map on the site is not clear (the hotel is in the conjuction between the street that comes from Castellammare and the one that comes from Palermo, following the direction Segesta). Bye Stefano

A wonderful place to stay near Castellamare del Golfo. Cenrally located, although a bit hard to find. The proprietors are charming and welcoming and the food is incredibly good and very reasonably priced. The rooms, while small, are very well equipped with cushy beds and what appear to be brand new linens. They are also spotlessly clean. I would recommend this lovely little place to anyone travelling in the area.
