Conveniently located to Milan-Malpensa Airport. Did not receive our requested wake-up call at 4:30 so we almost missed our flight. Old facilities which relate to the price paid. If I had to stay overnight to catch an early morning flight I would try another hotel.

Definitely overpriced, but is one of few reasonably-priced options near Milan Malpensa. It works if you have an early morning flight; otherwise, stay in Milan. Everything was dead surrounding the hotel/restaurant; however, it may have been because it was August 15th (holiday). The room was clean, but very small. And, if you're bothered by noise (it does not bother me), this is not the place for you. Very lound with the restaurant and street right outside the window. The restaurant was pretty good.

La Pista was wonderful in almost every aspect. We arrived in a horrendous thunderstorm at the train station but were quickly picked up by the hotel shuttle - just call. The evening staff members were incredible - just what we needed for our last day in Italy. The restaurant was friendly and busy, the food delicious and the staff again very accomodating. Our only problem was having been assured of our 5 spots on the shuttle to the airport the next morning, when the morning staff arrived, there was a miscommunication and they had booked others on the shuttle so was no room for us as scheduled. It worked out, because I had allotted extra time before our flight, but we had to wait 40 minutes for the driver to make a roundtrip to the airport. If the morning staff (all of them) could be half as friendly and competent as the evening staff, the stay would have been perfect. Highly recommend La Pista and will stay there again given an opportunity to return to Italy.

When I booked this hotel, I was looking for something that was close to the Malpensa Airport because we had to be at the airport around 5:30 in the morning. My worry was that the "free shuttle service" would not be running at such an early time. Luckily, La Pista outdid the service I was expecting. The restaurant located at the restaurant is marvelous and the location is wonderful. Although there wasn't air conditioning, the staff was kind enough to have two large fans for each room. This was one of the most pleasant surprises in my entire trip.

We had the best pizza ever! I still dreaming with it...The transport provided to the airport is excellent. Noisy in the ninght but for one night you didn't find better place. The receptionist girl is very helpfull, thank you.

Highest priced hotel of our trip with the fewest amenities and nothing within 3km. The only reason to stay here is to catch a flight out the next morning. Rooms were tiny with small showers. Breakfast consisted of a croissant and coffee. The restaurant food was good.

While this was a very convenient location AND they offered an airport shuttle service AND the restaurant was outstanding, the room was not clean and smelled terribly of cigarette smoke. I would not stay here again.

La Pista is a great hotel with a free shuttle to Malpensa Airport. The shower was a little odd but I would stay there again.

The people that greeted us seemed friendly enough. The proximity to the airport was good. The rooms were clean. Those are the only concieveable positive comments. The rooms were very outdated and in poor condition. The building is a phenomenon of acoustics. If anyone spoke anywhere in the building you could hear it. This was so loud that not only was sleep impossible (until it died down at 2AM), it was also nearly impossible to hear the TV. It literally sounded as if there was a 400 person wedding reception outside of our door. I assume the noise came primarily from the restaurant downstairs although I am not sure. I was never so happy to check out of a hotel in all of my life. We paid 140 euros and this would have been a rip off at half the price. Had we known what we were in for, we would have parked at the airport and slept in the car.

The main positive point of the hotel is that it is located at 10 minutes from Malpensa airport and there's a shuttle from and to the airport included in the price. The restauraint is nice too, and the employees are friendly. Having said this, 90 euros for a double room in the Lombardy country is quite a lot, but once again, you can hardly find cheaper near the airport. Finally, a fair solution if you have to catch a flight at 7 a.m., but certainly not for a long stay :-)

The La Pista's greatest downfall is the terrible noise coming from the streets as well as within the hotel itself, the hallways, the kitchen. On the other hand the service was very good as well as the food. The room was spacious enough, the plumbing good but the bed was somewhat in need of a new matress. Very nice and close to the airport for our early morning departure. A quaint family run hotel.

Clean, convenient with the shuttle to the airport, good restaurant.

My wife and I stayed at La Pista before flying back to the USA. The room we had was very basic and the shower was almost to small to use. The hotel itself, however, is probably the friendliest that we stayed in during our two weeks in Italy and LaPista's restaurant was outstanding. We had to leave for the airport early the next morning and their driver was right on time.

This was a great find. The reason I picked this hotel was because it was close to the airport plus there was a free shuttle. When we arrived Enzo, the owner, greeted us and asked if we had eaten. We hadn't and he told us to check into our rooms and come right down because the kitchen was closing soon. We had a buffet lunch that was mostly cold by this time, but was fine since we were hungry. We ate at the hotel that night which was great. It is family run and Enzo came over during our meal and said,"you didn't think it was going to be like this, did you? This is the best place in Italy." What appeared to be a sleepy, little nondiscript town turned out to be bustling and mostly at the La Pista. I felt like I was in a Greek village where everyone is family, including tourists. This place was a diamond in the rough.

This hotel was chosen because of the shuttle service to the airport.this was very good. Nowhere in the discription was it said that all rooms were on the second floor with no elevator. This was a terrible inconvience as my wife recently had back surgery and has a difficult time with stairs. The room was very tiny, the lights in the bath did not work and there was no A/C.The girl at the desk was very nice, but had a very limited grasp of English and did not seem to know very much about her job.I assume that she was a fill-in. There was no food available as the restaurant was closed with no explanation why, so we had to walk up a very narrow and heavily travelled street for several blocks to get to a restaurant. Further, we had to leave for Malpensa at 6am so we had no coffee or breakfast that was supposedly included in the price of the room. Since we were being charged much more than the website posted price for our room, I requested that the price of the breakfast be deducted from our bill. After considerable hesitation the desk clerk grudgingly reduced the price by 2 euros. After this experience, I would not reccomend this hotel, free shuttle or no, to anyone.

Value for money with the shuttle thrown in was ok.Had a little problem with room 13 but was moved. Breakfast was the poorest of any hotel in Europe that we had stayed in.One croissant each is hardly enough. The food was good in the restaurant and prices were good also. If you go walk around the Village there are some really good bars. All in all we would stay again

What can I say, very small room, noise until after midnight because the rooms are above the restaurant, had to pay in full before I went to sleep, if that is what you would call it, when you flushed the toilet, water would come out from everywhere and end up in the shower, in the morning, we had to wake up the owner in order to open the restaurant, the only good thing about it is that they picked us up and dropped off at the airport otherwise.......... No, I'm not going back there!

Hotel was in the flight path of Milan's airport, and there were a number of early jets. Breakfast was rather small. Air conditioning seemed to stop working during the night.

Hotel and meal were overpriced, but this may be standard for the area. Very convenient to airport. Dinner was of good standard but very expensive. Breakfast was not very good. Had trouble swiping our credit card when paying but eventually found one that worked ok - Manager was a little unpleasant about this.

Pros: Close to Malpensa Airport. Free shuttle. Restaurant on site. Manager Enzo quite a character. He's good at keeping things running with the wake-up call and scheduling airport shuttle for the next morning. Cons: Shower was an afterthought to the bathroom. Paper-thin exterior walls echo the constant streaming traffic in the semi-industrial area. Uncomfortable mattress. I wouldn't stay here again.

The hotel was somewhat easy to access from the airport and their shuttle was great. The hotel staff was excellent and the food was good. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and the room (ours facing a main street) was loud. I would still recommend this hotel if you need a place before flying out of the Milan airport.

We had an early morning flight the next day, and we arrived late to the hotel. The airport shuttle was prompt on picking us up at the airport, and taking up back in the morning. The room was the largest one we had in Italy. Very clean, but near the steps. The staff was extremely helpful. We had a great stay.

I cannot express adequately in words the hospitality and generous involvement of the entire staff at La Pista, from Celeste to the morning breakfast girl...everyone went out of their way to accomodate our special needs...such as traveling with my 100 year old mother. I hope I have the opportunity to stay at this charming hotel again. Also, the service to and from Malpensa was excellent.

A little expensive for what you get, but the people there are wonderful and very welcoming. No air conditioning close to Milan in the summer with lots of mosquitoes is not a plus, but the food is great. The shuttle service is terrific. All in all, if not in the middle of summer, I would stay there again. Helen L. Ashby

the directions to the hotel as pulled off of their web site were confusing and need to be refined. I would advise giving directions by distance on the odometer .

This hotel was farther from the airport than I was led to believe. Rooms were very small. My door didn't latch. It had to be locked with the key to latch it. I think it is over rated as a 3 star property, not better than 2 stars. The restaurant had excellent food although the staff did not explain the antipasta buffet. I would not stay there again nor would I recommend it.

The hotel is grossly overpriced for the level of comfort it provides. A week earlier I spent the weekend in Vienna. I paid 67 euros/night for a far superior room (in every way) at the very center of the city. Moreover, In the case of La Pista, there is little correspondence between the web pages and the reality. The room was very small, poorly lit, with window blinds that could not be opened. The shower enclosure was among the smallest I have ever seen, and least comfortable to use. The "free" breakfast consisted of a cup of coffeee and a stale croissant, no choices. Just about the only service that was as advertised was the free shuttle from and to the airport. I would never stay at La Pista again.

I liked this small hotel very much. The proprietor was very friendly and welcoming. I had an excellent pizza in the restaurant. The shuttle to the airport and back was prompt. It is a good place to stay for an early morning flight. I was given a brioche and cappuccino before leaving, even though it was before the posted breakfast time. The bathroom was small, and the shower did not drain well, but for a one-night stay that hardly mattered.

The room was small and basic but clean. However the bed was very unconfortable - the mattress too soft. I think it needed to be replaced. The worst feature was the noise. I got almost no sleep. You could hear everything going on in the hotel. If anyone moved elsewhere in the hotel you could hear it. On a more positive note I thought the hotel had lots of character and the restaurant in the hotel was excellent. In terms of value for money it was very overpriced.

I only have one comment ; the room wasn't carpeted and we are not prepared to bring slipers. so it was unconvenience to walk inside ( the floor cold ) or to use the washroom without shoes on...

We loved this place. The owner/operator (Enzo) was really great -- fun and funny. The restaurant was great and the help was fantastic. This was the last place we stayed before flying home to the USA and it was conveniently close to the airport and the rooms were comfortable enough. We will definitely stay here again, just for Enzo!

We (5 women on vacation) loved this place! The employees were very friendly, the restaurant was excellent (great pizza), the rooms clean, airport shuttle prompt. We only stayed one night since we had to leave from Malpensa airport early the next day, but we all would stay there again for a longer stay.

Photo of hotel in web page was actually the restaurant, and the hotel itself was quite unattractive. Bathroom toilet very difficult to flush. Functional, but not enjoyable. Breakfast, not great. Pick up at airport as described. Any other questions, please email, David and June Jack

We arrived in the dark and left in the dark, so didn't get to see the hotel from the outside. The food in the restaurant was very good, and we were given a ride to the airport in plenty of time for our flight.

Celeste emailed me shortly after I made our reservation. She gave me the hotel's phone number and asked that I call from Malpensa when we were ready for the hotel's free shuttle. When I called, they said, "Where have you been?" as if they were expecting me all day. We were greeted warmly, and simply given a key when we arrived. What a great check-in experience! When we asked what time we needed to leave for a 7:30 am flight, the owner said, "Relax, you're home now, leave it to us." Sure enough, the shuttle was ready as promised. But Celeste insisted that we have a cappucino before we left at 6 am! The restaurant on site is excellent. We had one of the best meals on our trip there. You know it's good when the locals eat there too! The shower was a little small, but besides that, the hospitality, cleanliness, restaurant, and service was first rate. Excellent value for the money. We will definitely return the next time we're in Milan.

We needed a family room not far away from Malpensa and La Pista provided what we expected to get, though I mean that the price of the room 150 Euro was rather stiff taking into consideration that the hotel is not located in Milan but in a rather remote place. But maybe it is what you have to pay for staying not far away from the airport?
