Comfortable bed, however the whole hotel feels 'used and tired'.

We visited for the Heineken Cup weekend and were charged £193.00 per night for a Hotel/Hostel worth no more than £30 a night. It is probably the worst hotel i have stayed in,walls the thickness of paper, very noisy when guest walked by our room and the fire door slammed.Continental breakfast was at the minimalist end of that description.Cannot fault the staff, not their fault the hotel is like it is.We found hairs in the bath, thick dust on window sills, room walls in need of a freshen up.I will say the bed was very comfortable and hotels position was well placed for all Cardiff has to offer. If i had paid the £30 a night rate my review would have been different as its what i would have expected for that price but not for what i paid.

Welcoming, very spacious rooms, lovely towels and plenty of hot water, coffee/tea-making facilities, LOVED the curtains! We tend not to want a cooked breakfast anyway. The only thing lacking was a hairdryer. Just over the road from St David's Centre and parking nearby in NCP car park. The first time we stayed there, but will definitely not be the last.

Luckily the bed was clean enough to sleep in but the whole place felt like it needed a thorough clean. There were huge brown stains on the curtains and a cold draught coming from the ceiling that I could not control. I stayed the night before an interview and was awoken at 2am by a group of drunk girls shouting and screaming in the room next to me :( was glad to leave.

Satnav sent me through city (bad) rather than following directions on website (good) which were much quicker and easier when followed! Drove past entrance and had to do a circuit to get there again . Room was spacious and clean. Although could slightly feel the springs through the mattress when I got in bed I slept well. The lovely thick curtains kept in warmth and sounds out. I was lucky to get a parking place as they are limited and you have to pay £7 per day. Disappointed there was no Gideon's bible in the room but discovered they do have them at reception if you ask. A note in the room to say this would be helpful. Breakfast room basic but breakfast was good and plentiful for price. Would stay here again especially if price is right. Staff very helpful.

This is a dirty , shabby hotel that had tripled its prices for a rugby weekend. I would never use it again

This hotel needs a serious makeover- it needs refurbishing and redecorating and new mattresses - these were uncomfortable- can feel the springs .The rooms were clean but old and in need of some serious TLC- e.g.linings hanging off the curtains.Lifts are dreadful.Good convenient city centre location.Staff were polite and helpful but we would not stay here again. There is a lot of nearby competition-this was the last hotel available in Cardiff when we were booking -enough said.

Hi, the room was clean ,bigger than expected, and was happy to have a bath (with overhead shower), rather than just a shower, in my room. Yes, the curtains were really unusual as other reviewers have said. Kind of furry brown bathmat type material :). Don't be put off by some of the terrible reviews, it exceeded my expectations and the location really is fab and central. Huge thanks for a lovely evening to barman Adam, you made our stay so much fun, (didnt feel so good the next day mind) but thank you as you made our night.:). Staff at reception were helpful, cleaning staff friendly and all in all had a lovely stay, will definately return again. Would recommend as a good, low cost ,centrally located hotel. Ideal for seeing bands.

6 lads going for a weekend away, got upgraded to family rooms at price of normal double, so two double beds in each room - very spacious! Hotel location is perfect, rooms are clean but there are some stains/scuffs knocking around. Hotel was absolutely perfect for what we wanted. Cheap and convenient.

Rooms were dirty and in desperate need of renovation, lifts stank of sick , peaking a joke, only night receptionist should keep his job the rest were not customer focused as u would expect from working In a hotel. Only the price that saved it from a 0 rating

For seeing the sights in Cardiff, this hotel is well placed to the center of town and the train stations. Be aware the wifi is NOT FREE. There were several minor issues with our room, but the reception staff was extremely responsive and dealt with each one very quickly.

Although photos match with reality, rooms are not as elegant as in the pictures. Walls are extremely thin, therefore all noises can be heard from the corridor or from the neighbour rooms. Otherwise, a budget hotel with clean bathroom, and directly in the centre.

A cheap tatty hotel but not at a very cheap price. We were not expecting any flash but this was very basic. The carpet was so rough you could not walk on it without shoes. The curtains were made out of fur fabric and the bed was very hard.THe resturant was like a factory works canteen. Everything was cheap melamine and painted vivid purple.A Travel Lodge was 5 star in comparission
