The hotel was exactly as described on the web. The location is excellent, especially if you are traveling by train. It is close to the railway station and close to the old town and the Cite. The rooms are nice and spacious. Overall the hotel is good value for money.

The hotel was good - nothing special. A couple of noteworthy points that stick in my mind are: 1. The buffet food in the restaurant was pretty tasteless 2. The breakfast area was jam packed on Sunday morning and there weren't enough people serving. As a result, many people had nowhere to sit and the food quickly ran out. They need to put more staff in their restaurant during breakfast to avoid situations like these.

For a "Terminus" (ie..close to the station) hotel it was a really prleasant surprise; lovely old building well restored, and very spacious. Old-style rooms were just fine for our needs, big, clean, and not too noisy. Air conditioned too, all this left us pleasantly surprised. As usual, breakfast was ..basic!

I had read that the hotel would only admit new arrivals after 5 p.m. However, I guess that may only be during the busy periods, as we arrived at 1 p.m. and were immediately registered in and could go to our room. The hotel is huge and spacious - must be pleasant in the hot months! It is also super convenient to the railway station - only 100 metres, and to the main town - across the road. The room was a 'family' room, but was actually 2 adjoining rooms - one for us (parents) and one for the kids. The rooms also had a great view of the walled city which was especially picturesque in the evening sunsets.

The place was nice, but they were having problems with doorcards, meaning the desk clerk had to come up to our room to let us in each time initialy, but this was fixed quickly. Friendly staff, and nice accomodtation.

The hotel is very old. The rooms are little and not very well cleaned. I suppose its caused by the age of the elements of the rooms.

this hotel is so out of date. it needs a complete overhaul. Paint is peeling of the walls.there is a small desk but no socket for a pc. wireless is there but soooo expensive, €10 for 2 hours. I stayed in a 2 star in Biarritz where wireless was free.

I personally enjoy a hotel dating from the beginning of the 20th century, which is what Le Terminus is. The foyer is huge, and reasonably well-renovated. The corrideors reminded me of those from "The Shining", and the rooms were smallish, but clean and decently renovated. (we really enjoyed listening to the howling wind at night-time). The staff were polite and helpful, without that perfunctory amiability of big-city hotels. Some of their procedures seem to be done manually, which is quaint. The restaurant is good, and Le Terminus is close to the new part of the town. Better to take a car to the old part of the city. Overall, a pleasant experience: we got what we expected.

The hotel is wonderful. A fabulous location and very comfortable. But two things need improvement: first, the pillows are horrible, flat and leave you cranky and unrested in the morning. Second, the staff at the front desk and in the restaurant are unhelpful and not very nice. We dreaded having to deal with them but LOVED the hotel.

We stayed only for one night in this Hotel because we wanted to be close to the train station for an early morning train. I was a bit hesitant to book the Hotel because of reviews of the rooms that are a bit run down etc. I do not know if we were lucky but our room was visibly refurbished - as was the bathroom and passage! Everything was so fresh and clean - it was a very pleasant surprise! The Hotel is excellently located - you cannot miss it when leaving the train station. We easily walked to La Cite as well. We had dinner in the Hotel Restaurant and it was excellent. We left too early for breakfast. We had one regret - our stay was too short!

The lift was ooo for 3 days and only 1 lift in the hotel! TV takes up all the desk and should be hang up on the wall. The space of the room is already small enough. The room they gave us was a twin when we specifically ask for a double and when we move the bed together, lots of dust are under the bed. But the staff are friendly as offered help with the baggage. They are overall very helpful and so is the GM. But the property should be more value for the money.

Molto comodo per chi viaggia in treno, è a 100 metri dalla stazione. Si trova nella parte bassa della città ma con 10 minuti di cammino si arriva alla parte medievale di Carcassonne.

The one thing that bothered me about this hotel is upon arrival I was asked to write my credit card details on a form (hotel policy I was told in case of buying drinks etc) I do not like to leave my credit card details lying around and offered to pay for my room straight away, that way they would have my details in the system but that was'nt accepted. I would in any case pay for my drinks etc as I'd order them and most hotels would ask for your room number anyway so any purchases could be charged to your room so I don't know why they insisted on this policy. I would not stay there again because of this. It actually worried me.

Very nice hotel. comfortable, spacious and air-conditioned rooms too. Street-side rooms are a bit noisy though. Definitly would go back to this hotel. Steam-age decadence - they don't make 'em like this anymore!

Good value for price. Well located : view on "le canal du midi", close to the train station and downtown Carcassonne, 20mn walk from "La Citadelle". Good looking hotel with a nice hall and easy to access (public parking not far away and free parking lots along the train station) Large breakfast for those who wake up early : closing time at 9:30am (!). The room was not that exciting and a bit noisy but was clean and large.

This was my first time in Carcassonne and at this hotel. Hotel is well located close to the rail station and the main shopping areas. My only complaint is that I was charged €13.00 for a basic breakfast, when the information provided prior to my stay stated that the cost was €9.00.

Property in need of lots of renovation work. Has excellent possibilities. Would stay here again but the service and quality in the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Hotel seems to concentrate on bus trips and not individuals.

The hotel was right at the station so easy to find. The signs for Le cite were also very clear,it's a 15min walk. The pool and spa was a nice bonus for tired legs and feet. The breakfasts were good, plenty of choice.

The was a very good size room and overall was pretty nice. The room was clean and everything worked. The location was a little far from the castle - but we drove so it was a 5 minute drive. The breakfast was good. Overall, I would go back - reasonably priced. The town is a must see - the castle is awesome.

Great location, opposite train station. Right at the side of the Midi Canal, in the 'new' part of Carcassone. A 25 minute walk to the old part and the Castle (there is a shuttle bus pulls up outside the hotel that goes to old town also). Tourist info bureau and departure points for canal boat rides also outside front of hotel. Lots of eateries close by. Rooms were clean and spacious, although the wardrobe area is extremely small. Bathroom adequate with a great power shower. Our room was very noisy, there was a festival on whilst we were in Carcassonne which had live bands each night on the park opposite the hotel. Also there was maintenance work going on from 7.30 AM each morning in the corridors ! Hotel has an indoor pool, but annoyingly, you have to pay 10 euro per person extra to use it, even as a guest of the hotel. Didn't opt to take the breakfast (but we heard it was awful from other guests), we simply went to the near by boulangerie's. We also tried the hotels Brasserie.....avoid at all costs, it looks great from the hotel reception, but it was like fawlty towers - awful service and below avergae food, for above average prices (this was a common observation amongst the other guests I spoke to). On the whole, the hotel was OK, a little noisy and the staff were surly (cleaners aside), but location is good and may consider using again.

It is oldfashioned hotel. Do not be surprised if you get a your room key after 17-00 and have to depart the room before 10-00. Sometimes you will be hearing the noise from next room.

The city was one of the most beautiful I have ever visited. The hotel was older, but the rooms were nice and the staff were wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel. It is a long walk to the medieval city however.

While the hotel itself is fairly grand and ornate, we found the room was rather dark and oppressive. The bed was not particularly comfortable and there was an annoying pipe in the bathroom which made noise constantly. Don't expect to use the pool either without paying extra (10 euros). Which is a joke considering the price to stay there. It should also say on the website that you have to pay extra for the pool. Don't think we'd come back here.

We had a very large room on the corner, with an attractive view. The staff were friendly and helpful. The foyer is very impressive, as are the communal areas. Breakfast was good value in the week, and even better at weekends. We had two good meals from the a la carte menu in the hotel restaurant, which we thought was a bit limited. We both think the fixed price menu is more interesting if it is available in the evening. Our only problem was that our bed was broken (two legs fell off as soon as we sat on it!) As it was the weekend, it couldn't be repaired for two days. Fittings in the hotel need gentle handling - towel holders etc., but we thought it was good value for money. We will stay there again.

Adelaide restaurant in La Cite is a real oasis with a wider choice than the predominant Duck or Cassoulet on offer in other establishments. La Cite is truly fabulous and even better with few tourists out of season

When we arrived at 1400hrs aprox to the Hotel we were told that we could not get into our room till 1700hrs. we found this very inconvinant a my wife has a condition. Other guests who checked in just before us and who came off the same plane and airport bus, were given there rooms immediatly! A group is differant we were told.We found the reception staff not over friendly and the service at the bar appauling. At the bar for instance we waited 15 minitues for service and then walked out went next door and had immediate service and went next door.We wanted to upgrade the the room as the one we had was small and had two single beds,we were told this was not possible as the hotel was apparently booked out (it did not looked booked out to us),we had booked what was called a Superiour room but all this mean't it had a window over towards the cite medival and the road below. But for the price it was bearible and the room clean. but the attitude to the guests leaved a lot to be desired. This was a dissapointment as the building is fantastic architecurely and is in an excellent location to all services.Overall it was a bad start but we made the best of it. We will return to Carcassonne I have no doubt but definately not to this hotel.

A fantastic hotel situated alongside the Canal du Midi and just 2 minutes from the railway station. Built in the classic "Belle Epoque" style. You can just imagine how the hotel would have looked 100 years ago! A light, airy reception hall with extremely high ceilings and a winding, open staircase up through the middle. The bedrooms feature very high ceilings (15 foot high?), but also boast all modern facilities you'd expect in a modern hotel room (TV, clean en-suite bathroom, etc.) A balcony overlooking the square outside was a bonus. Great hotel restaurant serving regional and more regular cuisine. The medieval old city was a pleasent 15 minute walk through the narrow streets of the "new" town (at least 100 years old itself!). Thoroughly recommended. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel itself as absolutely stunning. Beautiful old building with a great big staircase. The design and color scheme of each floor was delightful. I took a lot of photographs of the hotel interior. The rooms were clean, spacious with large bathrooms. Very nice. The location is great right up the street from the train station. The restaurant next door with the big TV screen had the best food! However the pool/spa area visually was gorgeous. Even though they have you pay 10 euro each to use these facilities you just feel the need to do it because of how nice it looks. However you need to check a few things out first! We paid got all ready only to find that the Jacuzzi was cold and the sauna wasn't even on, that part was a huge let down. They did turn the sauna on but said that you had to give notice to turn the heat on in the hot tube. I thought that rather odd considering they have you pay to use this area. Aside from that everything else was great. We fell in love with Cacassonne its a wonderful little town. If you go make sure you wake up early and head down to the square for the farmers market its great, the people are warm, and it's dirt cheap!

It is an antique hotel very near the terminal ,it has been remodelled in some areas ,rooms, restaurant,it has plenty of places to eat arround the hotel area and shops. It is not close to the Historic Old City, almost 20 minutes or 30 minutes. It was quite, and there was a good relation between price and service.

Problem with the checkin: they don´t give you the room until 5 PM, meanwhile you must check out at 10 AM. It means the need 7 hours to do the cleaning! On the other hand, I must say the breakfast was included in the price of the room, which has been a good surprise.
