Hotel Aragon - Carcassonne

A bit too expensive but the location is what counts here. Very nice staff, helpful and friendly. Pleasant place to stay.

The hotel is like doll house--very pretty but in miniature. Definitely not for a long stay. Breakfast is just adequate. The absolutely winning feature, however, is the location just across the road from the mirage of the walled old city of Carcassonne.

Friendly staff, excellent location to visit the old city

The treatment we had at this hotel was the worst I have experienced. The female owner barely bothered speaking to us, offered minimal assistance with our stay and had full on noisy renovations early in the morning! Never recommend this. Pity as the location to the castle is good.

Excellent location. Clean and comfortable room, but as with most French Hotels, room was small. Did not bother with breakfast as costs an additional £9 approx. I would recommend this hotel for a short break due to excellent location.

Extremely close to the Cite. Parking was free. Very friendly small hotel. I would come back if I have a chance to visit Carcassonne again.

As this was not our first time in Carcassonne we knew where we wanted to be and the location so near the gates to the city certainly didnt disapoint.The old city is a wonderful place to visit,we only stayed one night and found the room cool,clean and it even had a small balcony.Pool was welcome to cool down.We ate out-lunch ,dinner and even breakfast in the old city as its so near.Our room was a little small but a very good bathroom and air con' soon made up for that. It all did just as 'it says on tin' !!

While the room was clean, it was very small and the bed was not good. First, it was sagging in the middle, probably because it was old and/or of bad quality. Then, there was some plastic sheet underneath the sheets, which made it extra uncomfortable. The bathrooms was extraordinary small without a shower curtain to separate the shower. Hence, there was no way avoiding the entire bathroom (which was extremely small to begin with) from flooding. The only thing good about this hotel is its location (across the gate to the city, which was as promised) and the attendant who was very quick and friendly.

Hotel Aragon was a lovely place to stay while visiting the mediaeval walled village of Carcasonne. Location was wonderful, with the fantastic village being only a few steps away. Good valve for the money and friendly staff. Also, pet friendly which is important to our family as we travel with our dog....
