Delightful stay at the lovely Canasta. From the "hidden" location (a positive) to the picturesque grounds, this charming little hotel won our hearts from the start. The room was large, beautifully-tiled & airy with a tranquil scene outside the quiet room's view. (Only small negative is that while the room-personal outside balconies are wonderful, one can no longer really view the Sea as trees in-between have grown too tall) The balcony was the perfect place to end a day with a taste of wine or limoncello (the island's deservedly famous specialty). Breakfast too, well- designed and well-executed...don't miss their homemade lemon and chocolately breakfast cakes with your cappucino! Very romantic, great staff, recommend to all adult visitors at least. (Pool shown on website actually appears to belong to next-door property, not sure if Canasta customers can access.) Staff thoughtfully sent info upon booking with travel info from the mainland and insider tips.

Over the last 15 years years I had thousands of hotel stays all over the world. What makes this hotel special? It makes you feel welcome. The location is perfect, the room is clean, the terrace is nice, the staff is friendly; everything is just as specified in the description (this is very rare). The hotel does not pretend to be more glamorous or sophisticated than it is: A very good hotel with very friendly service at a very good location for a very reasonable price.

This was now the third visit to Canasta, in as many years, this year we found our reception to be aloof and not very engaging, compared to previous visits, we have highly recomended this hotel to many friends (who have then stayed here). Due to inclement weather, we were unable to get to Capri on the original date, we called the hotel and advised them of this, they were great and only charged us for the time we did stay. Rooms very spacious, a bit tired, we had a large terrace with great views also. Loved the ceramic tiled floral bathroom....very Caprese!!!! Breakfast was very basic also.

Room very spacious with nice bathroom. You need to get a medium room to get a little view on a garden, or superior room to have sea view. The others rooms are below these one and face a wall . Good service and breakfast on the terrace should be nice ( in warm season ).

Pietro was amazing and very accommodating. He made us feel welcome and gave wonderful recommendations. My 6 year old really enjoyed his time there and that made our trip very enjoyable. Although we did not have an evening movie, due to the summer Sky contract ending on the 3rd of November. We managed to make due in the public area and went to bed earlier. The breakfast was lovely and the other patrons were very helpful and we all enjoyed meeting each other during the day around town. Very close to the via Krupp walkway and gardens. Easy to reach and a wonderful location. Simply Wonderful!

We stayed at Hotel La Canasta for three nights in May, and very much enjoyed our stay there. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the centre of town and all the surrounding walks. The room was beautiful, with a gorgeous painted tile floor. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful, with good English (as our Italian is poor). The breakfasts were good. It was expensive, when compared to other three star places we stayed in around Southern Italy, but be prepared for that on Capri! It certainly seemed much better value than many of the alternative hotels available. There was internet access in the reception area, but no wi-fi in the rooms.

Major renovations going on at moment and scaffolding outside on our small patio area was a nuisance and the outside wall prevented any views unless standing on a chair. The room itself was bright and pretty, the shower was hilarious so move towels and toilet paper away before turning it on. Found the lady at reception on our arrival extremely dismissive and arrogant. The saving grace for this B&B was a particularly lovely breakfast which all other B&B's on this visit had been sadly lacking. Capri itself was beautiful and as low season we got a great rate on the room.

An absolutely incredible stay! We were concerned about catching our flight out of Rome the next day, and when we came back from some sightseeing, the owner had researched and printed out a plan of action for us that worked like a charm! After a bus, hydrofoil, taxi, train, bus and airplane, we got home safe and sound thanks to La Canasta! We definitely will be choosing this beautiful property on our next visit to Capri.

Hotel La Canasta was beautiful, elegant and charming. The room was impeccable as well as spacious. The owner was attentive, kind and very helpful when asked about places to visit or good restaurants to eat in town. Breakfast included: fruit, milk, cereal, juices, pastries, bread, yogurt, cold meats, coffee and tea. I had a great stay at La Canasta would definitely stay there again.

La Canasta is undoubtedly one of the best places to stay in Capri. It is located just off the main shopping belt in Capri Town (no more than 3-5 mins walk). The rooms are very well maintained and neat; the common areas are tastefully done up and very comfortable. It is certainly one of the gems in Italian accomodation.

Staying at the Canasta hotel is like staying in someone's beautiful home or villa. We had one of the rooms facing the sea with a terrace which we enjoyed briefly under the early November sun and the room was spacious and beautifully but simply decorated with lovely tiles and a big bright bathroom. The hotel owner and his wife were delightful, welcoming and helpful and made excellent capuccinos for breakfast. We loved Capri off season, and walked and hiked everywhere from the hotel. Enjoyed excellent meals at Giorgio's and Isidoro's nearby and bought beautiful handmade shoes at Antonio's in Anacapri. A wonderful two days to finish off our Italian holiday and we will certainly return.

Elenora, a daugher of the owner, was serving as manager of the hotel during our 2-night stay in Capri = she was excellent and speaks relatively good English. La Canasta is an excellent little hotel. It's centrally located and is near several beautiful walks in Capri. The hotel is very clean and room is beautiful and comfortble. Breakfast is excellent and they make wonderful coffees!(same quality cup of coffee in the square will set you back 5 euros!)Peter is warm and welcoming. We travel a lot and like small, friendly, well run, clean and well-located hotels. This one fitted our ideal almost perfectly. It is a real gem, even in the bad weather we unfortunately had. In nice weather the pool must be great and it could only be better. Nice mixed (nationality) clientele as well. Some advice for those arriving in Capri for the first time: Don't get a taxi to the hotel from the port - it's not much faster and cannot take you any closer than the bus or funicular will (you buy tickets for both as you leave the boat quay). Also, although its not that far from where the transport stops to get to the hotel (about 5 mins walk), it can be hard to find your way for the first time (especially if you've got the very last boat and its dark!) and you don't want to be lugging too many bags along the narrow cobblestone streets (fortunately we travel and were travelling light). Capri was even more beautiful than we expected and in late March and (especially) once out of the town / village centre wonderfully peaceful and empty. But judging by the tour groups we saw around the main Capri square, even in the off season, I would think twice about going there in the peak of summer - unless of course you really love people watching.

The location of the hotel was great, near everything but far enough away from the centre to be quiet.
