Hotel Bussola - Anacapri, Capri

Very good wellcoming and information

Lovely small hotel, a plesent easy walk from central Anacapri. The welcome and assistance we got was super. The room air conditioning was poor and the breakfasts were ok if you're on a crash diet! But overall we loved our stay here and would return.

Our booking was made on the basis of two main web advertised hotel characteristics: air conditioning and wireless internet connection in the rooms. Actually, they were not available. We could hardly sleep because of the high temperature in the room. If we opened the window we were eaten by mosquitos. The breakfast is quite poor. Moreover, they wanted to convince us to pay cash at the checkout, even if it was not indicated in our reservation.

This was an excellent hotel. It was located only minutes away from Anacapri and a short bus ride away from Capri itself. The owners were more than helpful giving us a map and letting us know all of the best places to visit as well as ordering us a taxi to take us back to the port. This is a great option for anyone travelling to Capri and wanting to get the most for their money!

It' the first time that i stayed at Bussola di Hermes, the Hotel it's very nice and quit and the interaction with staff is excellent.

Lovely hotel in Anacapri, although a bit difficult to find. The hosts spoke brilliant English and helped us plan activities, giving us maps and looking up times on the internet. The room had a gorgeous view and was very peaceful and spacious. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Capri is expensive, so is Anacapri. This was the most expensive hotel of our vacation and honestly not the best. Try to imagine a newly renovated hotel which is beautiful but, not quite finished yet. Our room had no phone, no air conditioner, and no tv. Apparently, there were also some cheaper rooms here, maybe I would have been happier in one of them? There is a gravel walk way underneath the windows which is loud and disturbing. We were constantly awoken by the late-coming and early-leaving clients. On a positive note, the staff is absolutely wonderful and the 'view' is of a mountain and directly across are a couple of sheep!

I stayed in this hotel in July 2004. At the time, it was undergoing renovation to what I expect will be a luxury hotel (or at least more expensive). It had beautiful tiled floors, but also few light fixtures (only bare bulbs) and exposed electrical wiring. For €100 a night on Anacapri, I felt this was okay. Things you might consider drawbacks: 1) It is not possible to drive up to the hotel with a car, you will need to make a 5-10 minute walk with your luggage, or rent a scooter. 2) It is a 10 minute walk from the town center. 3) There were really a lot of mosquitos in my room compared with other places I've stayed on Capri and in Italy. 4) Our room was not very spacious and had a nightstand on only one side of the bed. Negatives: When I was there, the 2nd floor was a hotel and the 1st floor was a youth hostel (unrenovated rooms possibly?). Needless to say, I didn't sleep much due to the all night partying of drunken college students. Not what I would consider a relaxing vacation.

I found that Rita and Ciro are wonderful and make the staying at Alla Bussola di Hermes unforgettable. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and, of course, will stay there when going to Anacapri.

The owners were wonderful however, the shower dribbled and ran out of hot water, the room cold and damp, the bed felt damp. Better in the summer. The owners were very nice people.
