The Oleandri Resort - Hotel Residence Villaggio Club is a secluded resort, situated near Paestum, in a luxurious landscape of about 30.000 sqm. Due to its quiet position, at the border of a pinewood and about 2 km from the Paestum archaeological site and National Museum, the Oleandri Resort - Hotel Residence Village Club is the ideal place to enjoy silence, meditation, wellness, entertainment and culture.

After a walk of 250 metres through the pinewood, guests arrive to the private beach. In the centre of the village, surrounded by a relaxing tropical garden, guests find an outdoor swimming pool.

A specialized staff proposes daily and evening activities and a Mini-Club for 3 to 12 year olds (June - September). And finally the centre offers a restaurant, open during Easter and from mid-May to the end of September.

Finding this oasis was fabulous. When we arrived by bus in the nearby town, there were no obvious taxis and I couldn't find anywhere to buy a card for the public phone. A very helpful shop owner offered me his shop phone, and within minutes a driver was dispatched by the Resort. We used the resort bikes to explore the area, which was a lot of fun and fascinating. My only suggestion is that the resort needs to give their bikes some mechanical attention. Our suite was fabulous, quiet and convenient. Next time we'll book a longer stay.

The hotel is the result of two kind of hotels, a regolar hotel and the residence, the second is a summer village club. This is a good solution for beache vacations.

We checked out of our other hotel in Paestum and arrived at the Oleandri at about 11am. We were checked in straight away without fuss as the hotel was quiet. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful. They gave us plenty of information regarding the ruins and the surrounding areas. They were also very accomodating with our requests and helped us book taxis. When we checked out early in the morning without having a taxi booked and was not possible to get one on the spot, they arranged for a member of staff to drive us to the train station. We had an apartment. It was clean and seems to be well equipped if you are on a long vacation with family, but was a little large for just the 2 of us. The superior rooms looked cosy and well worth the price. The pool area looks inviting and was a regret we didn't have time for a swim. We only had 1 meal at the hotel which was decent and not too expensive. A good tip though would be to have the full set menu as it works out much cheaper than just having the individual meals when taking into account the additional cover charges.

If you are in car.. is the best option... the hotel is not close to the train station (by walking arround 25 min). But the place is very good.

Hotel-Club "admirable" de calme et de beautée Accueil sympathique et résidence de rève. Jardin luxuriant, magnifique piscine, mer toute proche. Attention nous étions HORS-SAISON touristique. Nous vous recommandons un restaurant à PAESTUM excellent en rapport qualité/prix/accueil du patron : La Basilica Café Via Magna Grecia, 881.(à côté des temples illuminés le soir...) Un seul regret, de n'être resté qu'une seule journée à PAESTUM;

Excellent property, and very quiet. we stayed only one night, and did not have time to use all the facilities on the property. We went to the beach, but found it of a very poor quality. (No facilities, full of litter, etc.) Afterwards, we learnt that the property has a private beach in the vicinity. We were disappointed not to be informed about this by the staff. hopefully, the hotel beach is better kept than the public part of the beach. Also, for a one night stay it is a better deal to book a ordinary hotel room than a bungalow, since the breakfast is included with the hotel room. For a high quality meal at reasonable price, ask the hotel to book a table at: Il Granaio Dei Casabella. www.ilgranaiodeicasabella.com

Oleandri went out of their way to make our visit to Paestum memorable. It is a beautiful and peaceful resort hotel with spacious and well appointed rooms, a spectacular lagoon- style pool surrounded by lovely gardens,a short and lovely wooded walk to a soft sandy private beach, very nice public spaces and a sumptuous breakfast. Everything was first class--and at off-season rates, an incredible value for the money. But what was most impressive was when we asked the woman behind the desk (who turned out to be the owner) about a specific restaurant for dinner, she willing called the restaurant we mentioned and when it was closed--- instead of recommending the hotel's dinner offering, she suggested "her favorite" restaurant and called them to get us a reservation; telling them to take good care of us. The restaurant "Il Granaio di Casabella", right across from the archaeological site, was the culinary highlight of our two weeks of eating well in Italy. Although his English was limited and our Italian pitiful, Antonio took great care of us while his mother created magic in the kitchen. We are still talking about her raviolini with squash blossoms and pine nuts--and the price was quite reasonable for the quality. The Greek temples there are amazing and worth a detour if you are on the Amalfi coast. A wonderful destination hotel for a honeymoon, family reunion or just a relaxing get away. With the lovely setting, the fine beach and the amazing archeaological site and the first class accommodations, my wife and I hope to spend a few days at Oleandri on our next visit.

In Paestum for family wedding. Stayed at Oleandri with other members of family. Some in self catering some hotel. For cost of hotel disappointed in view from terrace (non existing as high wall) and very hot due to plastic roof. Breakfast choice poor and same every day. Due to location a snack bar on site and at the beach for midday meals would have been great. The pool was lovely.

I am preparing an insurance claim for loss of enjoyment during our stay since there was little correlation between what we saw on the website and reality. The website info did not detail what a "family residence" constituted so when we arrived we discovered a one bedroom apartment with one single bed in the kitchen diner for a family of four. We had to pay extra to get larger accommodation. There was no correlation between the long list of attractive services and reality: The pool was empty when we arrived on 4 June 2008, having just been painted. It was finally full of freezing water which tasted of paint 36 hours later. There was no "Teserra Club guest pass" which was supposed to allow - "complimentary access to the following services between 24/5 and 19/9: fully equipped pool, beach services (1 umbrella + 1 deck chair + 1 chaise lounge per room), day and night entertainment, a welcome cocktail, cabaret, muscle toning, ping pong, beach-volley, contests and tournaments, gymnastics, aerobics, aqua gym, dance lessons, mini-club for 3-12 year olds, games and recreational activities organised by specially trained staff, baby dance each evening, baby shows." The web photos show a beautiful scene of white linen tables beside a full pool - all the tables had up-ended chairs placed on them with no intnetion to provide a poolside service for most of our 6 day visit. With the exception of the last day or two we had to walk into reception to get any service around the pool area. Our welcome drinks arrived 48 hours after our arrival and only because we requested them and then the resort added them to our bill at €21. They were removed amongst much huffing and puffing by the hotel manageress. Dinner often offered one choice of main course which was not popular amongst our children who have typical preferences for their age and dislike eating bunnies. The beach was open but unmanned on our arrival despite red flags flying over everyone's else's beaches. It turned out that the

Our stay at the Oleandri was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed there for four nights with 3 other sets of friends (all families with small children) and the management helped us to lodge near each other, even though some bookings were made at the last moment. The suites and villas were all well furnished with fridge, stove-top, and all necessary kitchen wares. The grounds were lovely, and the pool was great for the kids since it has a "walk-in" shallow end. The beach was a short walk through a pine forest and was also very nice. Hotel is a 5 min. drive from temple ruins, supermarket, and several small restaurants and pizzerias. Have already recommended it to other friends who plan to book in late May. Price for quality was fabulous. Property is best suited for families and those who don't mind being around them.

Il Maitre di sala non è molto portato per le pubbliche relazioni e la qualità della cucina può essere migliorata. Comunque tutto ok. ottimo per famiglie anche con figli piccoli.

We were the only guests at this large resort as they were closing next day for the season. We had a few problems - no hot water, no one to contact at hotel, restaurant closed, no phone and no tv. Probably very nice in season.

We stayed here one night on our way down to Reggio from Rome and needed a place to crash. We hoped to be be there at 11pm but due to luggage problems we got to the area at 11:30pm and then could not find it!! We drove all over the place and of coarse street signs are scarce. Most everything was closed but we finally found a pizzeria but nobody spoke English- so after 15 minutes of drawing maps and trying to explain the way to the hotel in Italian a couple lead us there in their car which was soo nice. By this time it was after midnight and when we pulled into the hotel driveway the 6ft gate was locked and nobody answered the intercom. I tried to call the numbers on my cell but i could never get through so we went down to a neighboring hotel and they called for us and we went back and the caretaker was there waiting for us. He took us straight to our room and was talking fast italian the whole time. I understood that we could check in the next morning. The room was very nice, right outside the pool area and the grounds were very pretty. Since it rained the next morning we ate the free breakfast which was very good and then went our our way. THis place was very nice and wish i could have been there in nice weather to enjoy the pool. Just try to get there during daylight hours so if you get lost you can find help.
