Fine looking building as you drive up the entrance lane. Check in easy, however, our first room had a smell of septic and we asked to move. The owner and daughter were quite accommodating. However, we were moved to a motel type unit which was very cute. However, if the heater worked and there was hot water it might have been great. They did allow us to shower in another room in the hotel. Again, nice people but the hotel could use major upgrades.

We booked this hotel to visit Paestum. It is within walking distance to the ruins and the beach. Fabulous location. Hospitality plus !! Restuarant was fabulous, dining room was elegant, food and service 5 star. Our only regret is that we could only stay one night. We will definately be back.

Very well run family hotel, very close to the Paestum archeological site. They really care about their customers and are focused on customer service. This is not at all common for an Italian 3 star hotel that services tourists visiting a major tourist site. They will pick you up and drop you with a smile, and at no charge, at the Paestum railroad station, which will save you the 10 euro taxi fare each way. Free wifi works well. Breakfasts are only average, and room furnishings are drab, but clean and functional, public areas are much better. The hotel is very close to the wonderful Nettuno restaurant, traditionally open only for lunch, but now sometimes also open for dinner.

Luigi, the host at Villa Rita, goes above and beyond what is necessary to make his guests feel like they are part of the family at his clean, well located hotel. He picked me up in his car at the rather forlorn Paestum train station (a dusty place that has no taxi, no telephone, and even no toilet because it is under renovation) and two days later he cheerfully drove me back there. True, this is not an unusual service for a hotel to provide. However, after I left Paestum and made my way to Salerno, I realized that I had left my passport at Villa Rita. There was not enough time for me to return to Paestum and then make it back to Salerno without missing all of my connections between there and Sicily. After I called Luigi, he took my passport to the Paestum station, waited for the next train, and handed it to the capotreno official who was on board. Half an hour later, that kind capotreno walked up and down the crowded platform in the Salerno station waving my document over his head and calling out, "Americana! Americana!" I felt as if Luigi, with a little help from his "cousin," saved my vacation. Five stars for the kind service at Villa Rita. The food and wine are also excellent there and the pleasant lounge is a great place to meet fellow travelers. Highly recommended!

What a charming place! Not only were the room, common areas and property lovely, but the food was excellent, too. And when I started walking down the long entrance toward the road to head to the train station, I heard a "beep beep" behind me. It was the owner, stopping to say he'd be glad to take me to the train station free of charge. I declined since it was a beautiful day and I needed the exercise, but isn't that something? Unsolicited! Even the dog, Pooka (sp?) was loving. I would stay here in a heartbeat, only longer next time

On a four month trip through Europe, Villa Rita was one of my favorite places to stay. Everything was great. I can't wait to go back with my friends. Highest rating.

Very pleasant stay with a pretty setting and a comfortable, very attractively furnished public area. Excellent dinner, very hospitable and accomodating proprietor (Luigi) and family who live on property. Within walking distance of Paestum archeological site and restaurants.

Luigi was most hospitable during our stay. I think we were the only guests due to cancelation by a group (islandic volcano air travel problems)We were very comfortable. The Hotel, outside grounds, and pool area were absolutely beautiful. We could walk to the Paestum Ruins after dropping off our bags.
