This small hotel was a major find-a beautiful conversion of an old granary located on private grounds just a five minute walk from the temple area of Paestum. The staff and owner were all exceptionally friendly and helpful, and dinner in the restaurant was excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone visiting the Paestum area.

This is a lovely agri/tourist hotel. Paestum is a special place and this hotel kept the spirit of Paestum, albeit in a more modern way. My only complaint is that we do not like air conditioning and keep the windows open all night whenever possible. There is a bar/restaurant next door and it was loud pretty late. We had, however, dined at the restaurant earlier and had a thoroughly delightful meal.

This is a lovely hotel surrounded by the historical site and farm land. It was most recently a grand country villa, and retains that air. The staff was very friendly and professional, and the breakfast was outstanding. Our room was spacious, and very quiet and comfortable. The hotel's restaurant is a must!! If you can walk a mile, the hotel is an easy and delightful stroll from the train station. Exit the depot, and walk straight ahead down the lane toward the archway passage in the ancient walls. (see our photo) Walk until you reach the historical site (you will see the temples), turn right and walk to the intersection with Via Tavernelle, turn left and go a couple of blocks, you will see the hotel on the right side of the street. Of course you come for the temples, but do not miss the sea, which is close by. We walked there, but the roadway was pedestrian unfriendly, see if the hotel can recommend a better way.

We were delighted with our experience at Hotel Il Granaio. The staff was extremely accomodating.They even took us to the nearest city to buy train tickets since the machine at the station in Paestum was broken, and insisted on taking us to the station upon our departure. The entire property was beautifully maintained-from the public areas to the individual rooms. Our room was large and included a sunroom overlooking the gardens. Breakfast included pastries, fruit, yogurt,cereal,ham, cheese and beverages. The hotel was ideally located for a visit to the ruins-only a five minute walk. We would definitely recommend Il Graiaio and would stay there again if we returned to this area.

Check-out: it is necessary to leave the rooms not later than midday.

Special Weekend: from January 1st to June 14th, from September 16th to October 31th and from December 1st to 31th, a 10% discount is offered for a minimum stay of 2 nights.
