It's a lovely hotel, with many lounges and a garden. I stayed for only one night, in order to go to the excavation site, which is just a few minutes walk. I had a spacious clean room with all I needed. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Wifi was only available in the front lounge, however.

The house is beautiful and elegant, the gardens are lovely and secluded, the people are friendly and helpful and the location is perfect for visiting the ruins nearby. We visited in the 'off season' and were given two of the nicest rooms with balcony and spacious bathrooms. Our hosts were available and able to give advice about where to eat nearby (we arrived late in the evening) and put us in touch with a taxi firm happy to collect us from each of our evening outings. Highly recommended, a very nice place to stay. Thank you.

Fabulous B&B. When we saw our room we were amazed - it had a sun porch! Angelo and Laura are fascinating and we enjoyed getting to know them during dinner at the B&B. Parking is inside a gated area under a sheltering overhang. The gardens are beautiful. There are many spacious public areas - great for a family reunion or wedding or archeological conference. The staff is loving. We chose this B&B because it was rated #1 - and it surpassed our expectations. It is next door to the temples, a 5 minute walk. I wish we had more time here. It was a delightful experience.

Hotel Il Granaio dei Casabella was one of our favorite hotels during our stay in Italy. It was absolutely beautiful, and a perfect location. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We met some very nice people during breakfast. Would recommend it to anyone staying in Paestrum.

Beautiful room with enclosed balcony and separate stairway to outside. Quiet. Gated entrance. Wifi wasn't quite strong enough to make it into our room but despite that, I would have stayed longer if I'd know how lovely the place would be. Would stay there again.

There is one main reason to go to Paestum and that is to see the amazing temples. Il Granaio is just a 5 minute walk away. Il Granaio provides a lovely oasis after a day of seeing the temples and visiting the museum. The staff is super helpful (especially Ioana)--from picking us up at the Paestum train station to making our stay as comfortable as possible. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Paestum.

My 76 year old mother and I stayed 2 nights and what an absolute joy of a hotel this was. All of the staff treated us like royalty. The location is the closest to the archaeological site that you can book online - about a 5 minute stroll to the entrance and the museum. The room was huge and spotless, lovely comfy beds and large, peaceful grounds. We tried the hotel's famous restaurant on the last night, and it was excellent. All-in-all, both my mother and myself cannot fault this beautiful hotel. Warning - the road in front of the hotel doesn't really have a sidewalk/pavement for the first 200 metres or so, therefore you almost walk on the road.

This was a great place to stay! Such friendly, welcoming hosts - nothing was too much trouble! The temples are amazing. The hotel was very peaceful and relaxing. Its maybe a 20 minute walk to the beach, which is also beautiful. Just perfect!

If you go to Paestum mainly to visit the ruins, do not miss this hotel. It is managed by a very friendly family who try to make you feel at home at any time. Our room was spacious and quiet (I guess they all are). The installations are very comfortable, it is like visiting your family at the countryside... Excellent restaurant (dinner in the garden). Our only criticism is that breakfast was good but basic. We definitely highly recommend Il Granaio

We chose the Il Granaio on previous reviews and were very happy with it. The family room was very spacious and the host was fantastic. She even drove us to the train station after our stay as we could not get a taxi. The location next to the ruins is perfect for visiting Paestum.

Very impressive. The decorating was impressive, the room comfortable , the staff friendly and helpful. We would have liked to see dinner offered in the hotel but apparently they have a chef come in only a few evenings per week. The back yard was so inviting but unfortunately it rained and we could not make use of it. The restaurant they recommended was having a wedding but we stopped in at the enoteca down the street and it was good. The proximity to the ruins could not be beat. Overall very nice and if we were going there again, we would stay there.

This is a lovely welcoming place to stay and the house really feels like a home. It's within very easy reach of the archeological site and the food is lovely. Most especially the staff are great; I'd like to particularly mention Regina, who was very helpful, kind and patient. I had to stay an extra night because of a train strike and I so appreciated her concern and friendliness.

WE had a little trouble finding it, but gave them our GPS coordinates for the website to help future visitors. Our hostess was wonderful and we had a delicious and authentic, locally inspired meal. We were able to leave our car and walk to the Paestum site which I would also recommend...the museum is excellent with great explanations in Italian and English. I only wish we had had more than 1 night to stay at Hotel Il Granaio and I highly recommend it.

This small hotel was a major find-a beautiful conversion of an old granary located on private grounds just a five minute walk from the temple area of Paestum. The staff and owner were all exceptionally friendly and helpful, and dinner in the restaurant was excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone visiting the Paestum area.

This is a lovely agri/tourist hotel. Paestum is a special place and this hotel kept the spirit of Paestum, albeit in a more modern way. My only complaint is that we do not like air conditioning and keep the windows open all night whenever possible. There is a bar/restaurant next door and it was loud pretty late. We had, however, dined at the restaurant earlier and had a thoroughly delightful meal.

This is a lovely hotel surrounded by the historical site and farm land. It was most recently a grand country villa, and retains that air. The staff was very friendly and professional, and the breakfast was outstanding. Our room was spacious, and very quiet and comfortable. The hotel's restaurant is a must!! If you can walk a mile, the hotel is an easy and delightful stroll from the train station. Exit the depot, and walk straight ahead down the lane toward the archway passage in the ancient walls. (see our photo) Walk until you reach the historical site (you will see the temples), turn right and walk to the intersection with Via Tavernelle, turn left and go a couple of blocks, you will see the hotel on the right side of the street. Of course you come for the temples, but do not miss the sea, which is close by. We walked there, but the roadway was pedestrian unfriendly, see if the hotel can recommend a better way.

We were delighted with our experience at Hotel Il Granaio. The staff was extremely accomodating. They even took us to the nearest city to buy train tickets since the machine at the station in Paestum was broken, and insisted on taking us to the station upon our departure. The entire property was beautifully maintained-from the public areas to the individual rooms. Our room was large and included a sunroom overlooking the gardens. Breakfast included pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal, ham, cheese and beverages. The hotel was ideally located for a visit to the ruins-only a five minute walk. We would definitely recommend Il Graiaio and would stay there again if we returned to this area.
