Not very clean, though bed v. comfortable. Noisy. No lift. Good area. Public transport outside door. Took reservation on line with Mastercard, wouldn't accept card on arrival.

The price was reasonable for one single room/1 week. The carpet had big stains, but the room was otherwise quite clean. The bathroom was clean but extremely narrow and I had to sit sideways on the loo. Breakfast was okay but a tad boring for 7 days; one baguette and one croissant, jam, butter, orange juice and coffee. I was told it was impossible to get anything served before 8 am, and I had to wake the lady up twice in order to get anything at all. I was however happy she spoke english.

Rooms are narrow but clean, the competence and kindness of the manaeger at reception is a value added service which can help you to plan your journey in a better way giving you suggestions on the city of Cannes and how to move in it. The price/quality level is very good.

We stayed here in September 2007. Cannes La Bocca is an idyllic place just 3km from Cannes proper and a short train journey to Nice. Sun, sun, sun, glorious beaches and lovely little eateries. Hotel Neptune is right in the centre and easy to locate. Ask for a room with a balcony. Olde worlde charm. Good sized bedroom with a huge bathroom. Scrumptious breakfast. Friendly couple managing who made this two star stay the best of our holiday. We will visit again.

The position of the hotel is very good because it is very near to the beach and not in the noise of the downtown.

By car Travelling on A8 highway take exit no. 41 Cannes-La Bocca and follow for around 3 km to the centre of Cannes, until you see the hotel. By train La Bocca train station lies a 10-minute walk from the hotel, whereas Cannes train station is 3 km/1.8 miles away. Several bus lines run between the two stations and the hotel street. The bus stop is just opposite Neptune hotel.
