Hotel Avalon Grand Cancún - Zona Hotelera, Cancun

The room was large and comfortable, the pool and beach were cozy and clean. i didn't like the staff's attitude

This hotel was much more than I imagined or hoped for- especially for the money. I would not be able to stay in a motel in my hometown for what I payed to stay here, and it was fantastic. I labored over the decision to book a hotel for a couple months. We were beyond thrilled with the Avalon Grand. Our room, #2011, was incredibly nice, spacious, had a partial ocean view, and was so much more than I expected. The bathroom was downright fancy. There are 2 buildings here, one seems to be more time-share oriented, though I think the hotel owns some of those & it is the most beachfront building. We were in the main building with the lobby on the 2nd floor overlooking one of two pools. There is a small elevator. We were also on the corner of the hotel on the side of the Palace resort (which was LOUD!!!!) However, the air conditioning muffled the night time noise. We slept so much better here than we do at home. The beds were incredibly comfortable. Room service was a quick, affordable option and the food was diner quality. I hope this place stays somewhat of a hidden secret because I would love to return. We did visit the sister hotel, the Baccara, because we considered staying there and we were curious. It is run down and next to some creepy, vacant hotels (the beach there is not ideal.) The pool was nice and a good change of scenery, though. We also stayed at the Avalon coral reef club on Isla Mujeres- the room was a tiny box, smaller than a motel 6, but the grounds there are phenomenal, though not worth the price in my opinion. So, yes, without hesitation, I would return to the Avalon Grand, the nicest of the 3 Avalon hotels in Cancun/Isla. The location was great for dining, shopping, and catching the bus. The pool was great and they provide towels, the beach was phenomenal. We didn't try the restaurant but room service sufficed. Wish we were there, now!!!!

Area was noisy. everytime someone else closed door in building u could hear it. also, 2 restaurants and a sports bar were advertised but only 1 was open due to renovation.

I've stayed two nights and got a great price over venere.com! My room were super-spacious and very clean, food was very delicous and bartenders and waitresses were very friendly and helpful! I can recommend this hotel by 100% although some of the receptionist should speak better english and should be more friendly.

Everything was fine t the hotel.

Overall our stay was very pleasant indeed...the employees were caring and their services excellent, the food too...the only complaint was about the services of their location in Isla Mujeres, where the facilities and personnel were not as good as their counterparts at the Grand. I will surely stay again at the hotel.
