Hotel Helios - Can Pastilla

I stayed at the hotel for 7 nights and found the location good.Not far from the airport so only a short taxi ride necessary.One street away from the sandy beach and all the facilities of Playa de Palma including motorised train running the whole length of the beach and numerous bathing stations with refreshment facilities.Small supermarket next door and bike hire across the street from hotel entrance. There is a bus stop for buses to Palma behind the hotel. The staff at reception were friendly and very helpful - special requests were made with regard to choice of room and increasing length of stay and these were satisfactorily fulfilled. Guests were mostly mature couples but there were also some families with young children. The main outdoor pool was very nice and there was also a childrens paddling pool. The pools were supervised by a member of staff. The rooms at the back of the hotel are subject to a certain amount of noise from road traffic and aircraft as there are busy roads and the hotel is not far from one of the runways of the busy Palma Airport. Overall the Hotel provided a very enjoyable and reasonably priced short break and I would stay there again.

Although we have stayed in the Helios on previous occasions, the hotle loooked like it could do with a good coat of paint and a general refurb. Our room smelt of smoke. the breakfast was horrendous. Tables wete not cleared, few staff avialable. If certain item, including hot milk, ran out the staff were reluctant to replenish. We therefore chose not to eat in the restaurant in the evening. There was little effort to encourage us to use the faciliites of the hotel. Sun loungers were locked away, and we were required to find a member of staff to unlock them. Unhelpful staff at desk when a map of Palma was requested, told to go and find a Tourist Office. hotel full of spanish seniors - evening entertainment provided for these seniors.

As long as you don't get a room on the backside thise hotel is excellent in relationship to the price. Those rooms are very noisy. The beach are as close as you can get it. Bus ride in to the city near by and cheap.

The reception staff were very rude and took no time or effort to provide good service. There was no welcome, we were just given a key and not given any information on where things were or how things work. The first night we were missing a bed for our child and the reception made it quite clear that it was a huge problem for them and didn't care if one of us slept on the floor the first night, which we had to do. The receptionist even got angry when asked for another pillow. Very unfriendly, wouldn't go there again. The place felt like a tourist factory. However, rooms were quiet.

The hotel was adequate but I felt I was misled because your information did not say that the outdoor pool does not open until 1st May. My children were very disappointed, and it spoilt what otherwise would have been an excellent holiday.

Unfortunally they don't offer King Size Bed's. Very friendly and helpfull staff.

The hotel told us it only had twin beds.....not suitible for us, as well as we were not sure if it was a hotel or a seniors centre.....have to take bus to city centre....

Not a bad hotel but the worst beds we ever slept in.

Stayed 2 nights here, very good value and an excellent breakfast included in the room rate. Very convenient for the Airport and beach.

The hotel needs urgent refurnishing of the rooms. It is a very good hotel for people who want just lay out in the sun. It has a very nice pools outdoor, indoor & for little kids. It is very close to a very nice and big beach and near many supermarkets and restaurants (on the promenada. However it is quite far from the town Palma for people who need public transportation. there is a bus station near by but it takes almost 45 minutes to get to the center of Palma. Someone may rent a car or bike (I recomend the nice German cuple just oposite to the hotel). The airport is very close which is a benefit regarding the time (10 minutes) to get to the hotel and the price of a cab (10-12 Euro). However you hear all day & night (exept 0-5 AM) the leaving planes - to avoid the unpleasent noice someone has to close all doors. Generaly - it is a good hotel regarding it`s price.

We were very impressed with this accommodation particulary the staff who were very friendly and always willing to help and advise on local attractions. The hotel is located close to a very long and beautiful beach ideal for couple and families alike.
