Hotel Locanda le Monache - Camaiore

I visited my son's family staying in a house outside Camaiore and we had a good week together. The Hotel was a little bit disappointing since the photos and reviews suggested definitely more atmosphere than found in reality. But the situation is lively and nice, the staff is friendly and the breakfast fine, and Camaiore as a Roman-rooted but relaxed small town in the hills was a fine place an the Locanda a good place to stay there.

The staff and family were extremely kind and helpful. We arrived early but it was no trouble to go to our room. The owner's daughter spoke good English which was a great help to us. Service in the dining room was excellent for breakfast (included in the price)and dinner (if you want). Internet was free and staff was always available to set it up for us.

L'albergo si trova nella piazza centrale di Camaiore, piccola e graziosa cittadina a pochi minuti di macchina da Viareggio. Lo stile è molto carino e la stanza curata. L'unico neo è la doccia "aperta" che quando utilizzata formava una sorta di lago nel bagno. Colazione ottima con torte fatte in casa. Luogo ideale come partenza per visitare le varie città della Versilia. Inoltre è compreso il parcheggio gratuito della macchina in piazza e nei dintorni che altrimenti sarebbe a pagamento.

This hotel really is the hub of Camaiore. Our room was right over a very popular cafe'. The staff was very gracious and the food in the restaurant was perfect. The ravioli melted in your mouth. If you're looking for a quiet place to stay this probably isn't it, otherwise it's very convenient to shopping and eating.

I want to stress the fact that when i payed my bill, it was told to me a price different (more expensive) from that written on the door hanger of the room. I pointed out this fact, but the receptionist told me that the price difference was to due venere.com's boards. It'as true? I don't think so. The difference was of about 20 euros for 2 nights; it's possible????

I was very pleased with the hotel it was everything that your information stated.The food was first class {I,am a chef also.} All the staff where very good & happy & the service was excellent.All 4 people in our party said they would definatly stay there again. Also the web site of Venere.com is very good & efficiant& I will keep it for future use. Thanks for eveything hope to use your site soon. Yours sincerely Ken Davis 7

Only things that we thought that we could have used in the house was an Iron and Radio. We also found the swimming pool had parking and was about 3km's from the COOP which is a long walk in the heat. We found Concetta and Paulo very helpful and friendly. we will be recommending San Gimignano and Antica Posta to our friends

Hotel was fine, but street noise meant very little sleep. No a/c so had to keep windows open. Okay for the odd overnight but no more.
