Wonderful hotel in a wonderful town. We chose Calella to be near Barcelona, and discovered a jewel enjoyed by our entire family (3 kids ages 18, 16 and 12). Hotel is clean and comfortable with a friendly, helpful staff. We booked 2 double rooms and requested an extra bed in one room since I did not see a triple available on the website. The message the hotel got was that we wanted a baby crib in the room. As they do not have rollaway beds, they ended up rebooking us into one double and one triple room which worked out great. Nice swimming pool and bar area. Full breakfast with lots of choices is included in the room rate (which our kids appreciated after eating small breakfasts of croissants and coffee in France). Beach is a short walk and the hotel has a "beach club" set up there where you can rent a lounge chair, umbrella and towel for a few euros a day. One block from the hotel is a lively pedestrian walkway filled with shops, cafes and restaurants. Be sure to have dinner at Las Cavas, a bustling family run restaurant recommended to us by a fun staff member at the Hotel Volga Beach Club. The train station is right next to the hotel, but it did not bother us. The trains are pretty quiet. We took the train into Barcelona, about 35 miles away. Takes about an hour, lots of stops. We were glad we were staying in Calella and were anxious to get back! One of our favorite stops on our 2 1/2 week trip through France and Spain. We definitely recommend Hotel Volga!

The bad thing about this hotel was the breakfast, which was absolutely uneatable! And we also did not get the double bad that we booked, which is quite annoying for your holidays in a couple.
